You must be sincere and mean it to receive forgiveness. You don't have to pray or read the word for a certain amount of time just sincerely ask for forgiveness.

You have to have a change of heart....until you love and desire the Lord with your inmost being then no amount of 'rituals, crys or even prayers' will matter much--for they are not what you truly want...but when you truly want Christ, you will both receive him and be received by him. Until then, you have the contradictory hard quest/duty to try and kill your evil desires...aka the things you want to do that are wrong you have to try and make the things you don't want to do...and this is what you should CONTINUALLY pray for....

hope this helps

You've already been forgiven. Thats why Jesus went to the cross for. Repent and turn the other way. God is a good God a forgiving God. HE wants you to come to Him with an open heart and honesty. He knows everything he just wants to hear from you more often. Get into His word and listen to that stiil small voice.

amen to that.
Before we seek God already find us. Before our mouth God already know what in our hearth. God only want us to do is to repent and pray with heart open. pour yourself to Him.

Hi,
I think it is great that you are recognizing that you need a change in your life, and that you need to rely on the Lord to receive forgiveness. That is a great start. The thing is the Lord knows your heart and knows everything about you. He knows you are searching for Him right now, so if you just call out to Him and welcome Him into your heart, He will hear you.
You don't need to read the bible for a specific amount of time in order to know the Lord. When you welcome the Lord into your heart and mean it with all sincerity, your sins have died on the cross with Jesus Christ. I know that I started out where you are right now. Knowing that I needed a change and not entirely sure what to do to be forgiven. We all start out that way.
Mark 10:15 says "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it". I find this verse very encouraging, that we all start our faith in the Lord like a child. Over time we build our relationship with God and our faith will grow along with it. Children trust in what they are told and take it to heart. This is the way we should approach the Lord.
Romans 10:9-13 says "That is you confess iwth your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the scripture says, "anyone who trust in Him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Gabby, congratulations on your new baby. Just wanted to share - about the woman caught in adultery and was about to be stoned, funny not the man. Remember, Jesus's word - he that is without sin cast the first stone - what a wise and gentle savior we serve. Are you going to cast a stone at Gabby? Jesus said - I came that your joy may be full. You need to first forgive Gabby, before you can enjoy the forgiveness of the Lord. You see, that is why he went to the cross, here is another sweet story, be there with me - the two thieves on either side of Jesus -one said, Lord remember me when thou cometh into thy kingdom - Today, shall thou be with me in Paradise, Jesus responds. I am always moved to tears when I think of that, I think that he was the first to make it into "Paradise" while Jesus was on the cross by the Lord saying so.

I hope you get this, know that you are one of God's masterpieces and never see yourself as anything less. He loves you with every stripe Jesus took and with every drop of blood that was shed. Now, think about the kind of woman from here you would like to create yourself to be, if it is in harmony with God's love, he will orchestrate this universe to provide you with everything you need and take you to places in his love you could not imagine. Thank you for allowing me to share this...in joy Batya

Hi Isaiah, I'm quite sure you've probably been told 101 times since you posted this...But, God loves you. Forgiveness is available to you no matter what you have done in your past. There's no magic formula to gaining God's forgiveness...there's only faith. Faith that his grace is enough to cleanse you from any unrighteous act you think you may have commited.

Mark 2:5
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

1 John 1:9-10
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Acts 10:43
All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.

Luke 7:47-48
Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little." Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven.

Walk in love and walk in faith...God bless you :)
