and who are you to call needing some sign that he is real ignorance? I needed proof and he showed me willingly, you yourself show ignorance for judging someone else for needing him to reveal himself. She is trying hard to find him and I cannot sit here and let you say such things to a person who needs our help
I have said what I wanted to say because it part of being a Christian. God Luck with her and I hope you help her find Christ. She will need a break down to few barriers so that she can receive Him.

[h=1]What does the Bible say about pride?[/h]
Question: "What does the Bible say about pride?"

Answer:
There is a difference between the kind of pride that God hates (Proverbs 8:13) and the kind of pride we feel about a job well done. The kind of pride that stems from self-righteousness is sin, and God hates it because it is a hindrance to seeking Him. Psalm 10:4 explains that the proud are so consumed with themselves that their thoughts are far from God: “In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.” This kind of haughty pride is the opposite of the spirit of humility that God seeks: “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). The “poor in spirit” are those who recognize their utter spiritual bankruptcy and their inability to come to God aside from His divine grace. The proud, on the other hand, are so blinded by their pride that they think they have no need of God or, worse, that God should accept them as they are because they deserve His acceptance.

Throughout Scripture we are told about the consequences of pride. Proverbs 16:18-19tells us that “pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.” Satan was cast out of heaven because of pride (Isaiah 14:12-15). He had the selfish audacity to attempt to replace God Himself as the rightful ruler of the universe. But Satan will be cast down to hell in the final judgment of God. For those who rise up in defiance against God, there is nothing ahead but disaster (Isaiah 14:22).

Pride has kept many people from accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. Admitting sin and acknowledging that in our own strength we can do nothing to inherit eternal life is a constant stumbling block for prideful people. We are not to boast about ourselves; if we want to boast, then we are to proclaim the glories of God. What we say about ourselves means nothing in God’s work. It is what God says about us that makes the difference (2 Corinthians 10:13).

Why is pride so sinful? Pride is giving ourselves the credit for something that God has accomplished. Pride is taking the glory that belongs to God alone and keeping it for ourselves. Pride is essentially self-worship. Anything we accomplish in this world would not have been possible were it not for God enabling and sustaining us. “What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (1 Corinthians 4:7). That is why we give God the glory—He alone deserves it.

Thank you. I'm not trying to insult god. I just don't understand if he loves me why it feels like he's hiding from me.

I see. I'm sorry. My father died when I was 7. I understand that pain. I went to a church once. The pastors wife made me leave because I was dressed immodestly. Apparently women in church can only wear a dress that reaches down to their knees. That was my nicest dress too. I tried to join a bible study group but they didn't believe in mixed race groups (they thought I was black even though I'm actually Filipino) i don't understand how it's fair for god to expect me to just believe in him without any reasons to.
I am so sorry that a Christian treated you badly just because of your clothing. My belief is that people come to God with open hearts and He does not care what the clothes look like. God loves you just the way you are does not care what your background is. Jesus died for us while we all were still sinners not cleaned up and perfect ready to go to heaven. You just call out to Him to help you and He will. God will lead you and help you with whatever your need is. We just have to accept the gift of salvation that Jesus has died for our sins, ask Him to forgive us and give our heart to Him and God does the cleaning for us because we can't do it for ourselves.

Dear Father In Heaven

I ask that you please be with Christina and help her to open her heart to you and accept Jesus as her Savior. Please help her unbelief as I believe she desperately wants to believe in You. Show her Your love in a mighty way. I pray in Jesus Name Amen.

No!! IMHO, you are showing 'disrespect' towards Him.
Any being god or not that demands belief and trust without question or reason is a tyrant. Not a loving god. When your child ask why not touch the stove do you tell them "DONT! You'll get burned and it will hurt!" Or do you tell them "just do as I say!"
Matthew 7:9. I am asking god to show me he is out there. Why would he take that as disrespect. This is his child asking for bread according to what you ascribe to believe.

Thats the problem you said what you wanted to say not what was needed nor did you do it because your Christian, if you did you would have understood why what you said was so aweful. You seem to lack any love and compassion and not just from this post I have seen many of your posts and you have been judgemental. There is a reason many so called Christians are not Christians and its because they lack love

You need to establish a deep, personal relationship with Jesus (Rev. 3:20) and ask Him the same questions you are asking on the board. It is possible that He is not answering you because you are lacking faith. By showing deep & passionate love for Him, it will get His attention. He knows your heart. Trust Him. Have faith in Him and He will respond to you. I believe in tough love with my Christian brothers & sisters because I love them very much, and really want the best for them. :)

May you find Jesus & peace

Ty thats much better, but I have a question. How can one have faith if they are not saved? Faith is something gradually grown as a believer not something that you just have?

Yo, remember this:

"13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:13-19

These verses I just explained literally how people see Jesus in other religions. I know He loves you, but you have to ask God to open your eyes, you say you see with logic and reason, that's flesh. God uses child-like faith and things not of flesh but of the spirit. Our Holy Spirit shows us things that we do not see, hear, and convicts us with His Spirit and not flesh, He is our helper (John 14:16) and He guides us and searches our hearts (Psalm 139:23). There might be some stuff blocking that and it's almost like you got to ask Him to remove that stuff and show you.. God loves us, but He shows us to whom He wants so in a way yeah, He is hiding but that's because you can't see Him with your actual eyes.

i see. It's so hard for me to grasp. I keep hearing that I have to have faith but I don't know how to make myself believe something I don't believe. I feel like a paralyzed person being told how to move their arm.

Agree. That's the job for us to do on CC. She is familiar with the Bible but not with Jesus in the spiritual sense. Initiating a relationship with Jesus will strengthening her faith and character. It would be a great start. I might seem harsh but it is for a good reason. It is called a "wake up call" and it does work. It did get her attention and she did respond to me and the result was good. She need to focus on Jesus and not herself. She will be okay.

Well that just proves my point in my question to biscuit doesnt it? How can one have faith which is only given by maturity of being a Christian if one is not even saved? I had no faith when I was saved

Maybe just calm down and relax go to a quite place where you are at peace however you do that whether by tea or music or something and if you havent asked already ask him to come into your heart. If you really mean it I am sure he will, sometimes he has to wait till we are at our wits end and are desperate for him to save us. no need to do the impossible simply ask and you shall recieve

Weird, you're searching for God and I hide from God (ironic).
Who do you say Jesus is?

Thats hard to say, you have to believe in him if you are searching for him. How can you seek something you dont believe could even possibly exist even a little? He wants you to come to him far more than you know and loves you very deeply, he is more desperately to have you than you can imagine he literally craves to hold you and never let you go and he is scared you will run out of time because things are going to happen where he cannot be found for a while. I cannot go into detail what they are yet but trust me its very urgent you at least try he is waiting for you with open arms
