This is only the forums, not the chat rooms themselves. To access the chat rooms, click on the blue "chat now" button at the top of the sign-in page, and choose a room from the list. To pm someone you can either click on their username and click on "profile", or you can go to the "my profile" button at the top of the sign-in page and in the list on the left, click on "private message." Be sure to type in the person's name exactly as it appears in their username..
