Questions like this are better to be posted in the User2User Tech section, but i'll try to answer here, best i can, since this forum is not always very active.
I was a member before the subscription requirements, so i was able to bypass the subscription, therefore i don't know everything you don't have access to currently.
You can only access 2 chat rooms. You cannot private message anyone in the chat rooms. The 2 chat rooms you have access to are the most active rooms, with the others being randomly busy. So paying the subscription opens those things up.
As far as affects in the forums, i'm not aware of any, so to the best of my knowledge it is mainly to open up chat room options.

If you plan on using the rooms it can be a nice feature if you can afford it. But if you aren't interested in private messaging in the chats, or going into the chats at all, then i don't know of anything you're missing out on. So it's really up to what you're planning on using the site for. If you're unsure i'd suggest holding off on paying and see if you feel you're missing out, if not then you save yourself the money. If you wish you could do more then pay.

As i said, i haven't had to deal with this, so i may be missing some details, but those are the key things i hear mentioned most.

Thanks for replying. :) Sorry I used taglish in my inquiry and posting it in a Filipino Christian Forum. I thought I'd be talking to fellow Filipinos. :) Yeah, you're right I'll observe first if I'm missing anything without subscribing. Thank you very much.

This is what the admin has to say about people that do not contribute. Its not about what you may be missing out on !! I dont know how anyone in good conscience can continue to use a service that he/she is unwilling to contribute to. At the very least, 2 bucks a month is dirt cheap. Who cant afford that? I mean really, who cant? If you cant you cant but I dont think that is the case with most on here that take a free ride on the back of the admins. Just my 2 cents worth:)

12. Please do not plant/spread seeds of suspicion and mistrust about CC fundraising.
Please don't go around creating a cloud of mistrust and suspicion concerning fundraising on ChristianChat.com It takes a lot of hard work, and money so people have a place for chatting, fellowship, ministry, and discussion. Creating a cloud of mistrust and suspicion makes our task more difficult. It's inconsiderate, and inconsistent to consume free of charge, the product of someone's hard work, if you go around telling others how they can't be trusted, or if you go around raising a cloud of suspicion about them.

Oh and btw: the philipino forum is open to all according to the chat rules.

Just so I make myself crystal clear here: It is NOT my intention to shame anyone who cannot afford to pay. Let your conscious be your guide:)

Since i started using this site i haven't had $2. I was on disability and usually ran out of money a week before my next check. Now i have had no income in at least a year.

And when a service is advertised as free, then the people offering the service should not then expect to be paid. Otherwise it's not really a free service, and should not then be advertised as such. There is no sort of requirement that states something that is free should be paid for by those who use it. At that point payment is a courtesy. An optional courtesy.
I have no problem if CC or any other free service wishes to seek donations, but to vilify people who see the word 'free' and take that as meaning what it says is also not a right approach either. Because free is the offer given. If the creators want payment then they should charge for their service, not guilt and insult people for using what is offered in the way it is offered.

In addition to Ugly's post, free membership doesn't let you post images in the chatroom or use the YouTube functions.

This used to be a free service. I'm actually glad they decided to set up the subscription. Server costs aren't cheap. Also, the guys who run this need more than just a pair of hands, so our financial support helps them a lot. Actually, it may help if we start thinking of it as a ministry rather than a product/service.

First of all it's Filipino not philipino. Secondly, I have no intention of planting/spreading suspicion or mistrust in this website. It wasn't even on my mind, I opened up the topic about subscription because I don't know a thing about it. I tried searching in the thread if this topic was already talked about so I don't have to start a post about it. But I couldn't find it, so I made my own, hoping someone with the knowledge may answer me. I'm sorry blondieindahouse if it came to you like I'm doing what you're accusing me. Innocent question coming from a new member that's just it. :)

Btw, I'm a subcribed member now and plan on getting an annual membership to help support this site. God bless. :)

Yeah, that's what I thought too, that's why I subscribed. :) This site I'm sure has blessed, encouraged, helped, etc. a lot of people including yours truly, and it's going to be sad if this site will one day close down because of insufficient fund. I want to continue supporting this site until the Lord takes me home or until the Lord comes back. whichever comes first. :)
