We pray daily for the Philippines. We have been here for 10 years now and have a heart for the Filipinos.

Back of my mind i have been wanting to look for this thread some weeks ago. Some of u may have heard of the "new" turmoil in Mindanao island. Sana matapos na esp in Marawi, where school children are affected there esp now that classes have started.

I thought to reply to kalyna's blog post on long weekends, and we actually celebrated a long weekend with Independence day yesterday,, ironically still with soldiers needing to fight in parts of Marawi,,, Here are photos of our 119th freedom day

There's an article i also read on Panorama, the sunday magazine of manila bulletin, where it explained our first flag was actually sewn by two women and a child, and not by three women as has been depicted in a previous popular painting

I am glad some business establishment gave me 2 small flags i brought home, when i could not secure some before yesterday, june 12

I've heard many times from my filipino friends that living in the Philippines is tough, will be praying for the Philippines, though I do often worry about my friends here in America because I don't see them much anymore, though I saw some last Christmas at my house, shocked that they came over,so glad to give them the gifts I bought for them, from my money from first few months of my awesome job,I got everyone I could think of in my family and of my friends each a present for once in my entire life,it was such a great feeling!!!

Thank you, joe. It is both fun and tough to live here, but most livable i can tell (also) from foreign nationals who choose to stay/live. Idk many know abt the crisis in Marawi and not talked abt much either, but here: some prayer items. Our leader does need our prayers more than ever. Thank you.

Your president has always been, and remains, a very controversial figure.
There were times he distanced himself from the DDS, and times he admitted to running them.

Regardless, he is your president, and I pray he will make good decisions.

Trump has already talked to him at least once, and that seems to have gone well.
I don't think the Obama administration did anything to help relations between our two countries... hopefully things will improve.
(Keep in mind that not only do the America people feel a closeness to your country, but Trump actually has business partners and properties in your country.)

The best thing for all of us to do is pray for our leaders, that they will make good decisions.
The problem here is people from the American Deep State want to use the Philippines as cannon fodder against China.

They want to use the controversial war on drugs as justification to sponsor a regime change in my country and put a puppet president that will follow the Deep State.

Besides, China is not anymore Communist like the days of Mao Zedong; it is in fact a Social Democratic country and Mao Zedong only remains as founder of PRC but the government is not almost following his ideologies of the past.

China is really a friend in deed as long as you don't antagonize it. she can share the resources with the Philippines that is under the PLA.

About the deaths on our president's war on drugs, I think this documentary from BBC will shed light who are the other players aside from the abusive policemen which the president also did not deny. so it is unfair to blame all the deaths of war on drugs on the government.
