I think they very well could be. Islam is growing at an alarming rate, and if you look at the Islamic description of the Imam Madhi, it parallells with that of the Biblical Descripion of the Antichrist. Since many who follow Islam have vowed to stamp out all other religions by whatever means necessary (including killing), it would stand to reason if they continue to grow while the church declines, and if they grow in other countries besides just the middle east, they might gain a foothold. Some of them aren't violent, but there is an awful lot of violence in the Middle East.

That statement most likely includes Islam, but not Islam specifically.

I'm not sure if this is an ironic sort of post (if so - ha, ha! ;) ), but in case its not, aren't synagogues Jewish places of worship? Usually, you won't find too many Muslims in synagogues because they prefer to hang out in mosques, for some reason... That's not because they've been put out of synagogues, by the way, that's of their own volition. So short answer - no.

Rumour also has it that the UN is filled with commies, so I wouldn't trust them so far as you could kick 'em. Perhaps Obama's puppeteer is trying to stir up (with Obama's speeches) Christian aggression toward Muslims. (e.g. "Hey! Our gay, Commie, Muslim, Kenyan President Barry Soetoro, or whatever his name really is, is trying to help his Muslim brothers set up their One World Order. We should join forces with those Israelis and go to war against Syria and Iran to stop this ever happening").

Not saying its true, but the best chess players aren't those who think only one move ahead.

No it doesn't. Those who freely give out salvation are those getting put out of every church and synagogue.

John was writing to a community of Christians that were already being cast out of the synagogue and dispossessed (cf. 9:22; 12:42–43; 16:1–2).

The Jews had revised the twelfth benediction of the Amidah (˓āmidāh, a set of eighteen benedictions that were to be recited “standing up” at the daily service of the synagogue) as part of concerted effort to drive Christians out of the synagogue while John wrote that verse in the late first century. If anyone confessed Jesus as the Messiah, he was to be cast out of the synagogue. Being put out of the synagogue meant excommunication.

John 16:2-3 NIV - They will put you out of the synagogue; - Bible Gateway

John 16:2 - 16:3

Also obama's statement to the united nations stating that the future could not lay in the hands of those who slander the prophet of islam, thoughts?

Christians should expect hardships and persecutions in one form or another. this word is not going to agree with Christ teachings, and even Christians, and churches will not agree with Christ teachings. But since we are living in the end times, your mind should think about those synagogs in Revelation 2: , 3: Where those who do know the Word of God, are delivered up before Satan. Mark 13...

Political correctness and that Muslim religion are out of control but i dont see the UN doing much to anyone for that.

I am a firm believer that the deception of our elect will come from within. I do not know any serious Christian's who may be persuaded by Islam or some other outside religion.

It seems very clear, that they will be sitting in the house of God claiming they are God. Hard to deceive the majority of Christian believers when using Islam.

This passage could refer to the persecution of the Church from Islam, but it is specifically talking about the persecution that Saul was doing to the Church before he was saved. The Jewish community jailed and killed believers, and called it the work of God.
Also, remember the Spanish Inquisition? The 4th Crusade? All the martyrs during the Reformation? These are the events He is describing, when men did horrible deeds in the name of God, even torturing and murdering believers over doctrine.

No, that's incorrect. The Greek word used in John 16:2 for synagogue is ἀποσυνάγωγος, ον and it means "away from the synagogue, expelled from the synagogue, excommunicated."

Thayer's Greek Lexicon:

"ἀποσυνάγωγος, ἀποσυναγωγον (συναγωγή, which see), excluded from the sacred assemblies of the Israelites; excommunicated, (A. V. put out of the synagogue): John 9:22; John 12:42; John 16:2. Whether it denotes also exclusion from all contact with Israelites (2 Esdr. 10:8), must apparently be left in doubt; cf. Winers (or Riehm) RWB under the word Bann; Wieseler on Galatians 1:8, p. 45ff (reproduced by Prof. Riddle in Schaff's Lange's Romans, pp. 304-306; cf. B. D. under the word ). (Not found in secular authors.)"

Note that that Greek word is not found amongst secular authors. It definitively meant Jewish Synagogues.

Now, that said, I agree with you that we can extrapolate the principle in John 16:1-3 to all sorts of anti-Christian entities.

synagogue in John 16:2-3 is not synagogue but assembly. That could be any corporate or public meeting place where people come to worship God.

I watched the whole clip on youtube from a different link, not a shortened version. He was talking about all religions uniting and not being in war, he also talked about not targeting christians in egypt and referenced the hindus as well.

I can see where this is going....Guys he's not the antichrist! I've seen plenty of threads on this forum claiming obama is the antichrist. The bible describes the antichrist as giving false peace to the world first after signing a peace treaty with Israel. Last time I checked Obama was starting WW3!

All will be revealed when God wants it to be revealed :) So we should put all of our energy into ministering instead.
