Since Graver Robber is broke up/on hiatus (i think more broke up) the vocalist Wretched, is doing a solo Christmas album. I believe he has it all funded for independent release just in the past week or two, through IndieGoGo. So this will be interesting. Another cool thing to add to this release...

Jim Whosoever Chaffin from The Crucified/The Blamed/Deliverance/and tons of other cool bands and Jim La Verde of Barren Cross fame have both agreed to play on my Christmas e.p.!

Admittedly, sometimes it strikes me.

Okay I think I have something that might get me some cred back. Ugly, this is about as old school as I've got other than some older Soul Embraced. You already posted Erase and Six feet deep (I got both of those at Creation festival in jeez... 98 or something).

Anyone else remember grunge?

Drowning with defiled dreams
In sea of tears
The breath of life, stole away
Suffocated by my fears
Aspirations once alive
Have washed away with hurt
Desperate cries are heard no more
From my cradle in the dirt
Rain in my dreams, drowning in sorrow
Rain in my dreams, drowning in sorrow
Defeat is alive and well
No more strength to fight
Sinking into darkness
Closing out the light
It seems my life is gone
God help me please
Raise me from the deep-six
Breathe life into me
Rain in my dreams, drowning in sorrow
Rain in my dreams, drowning in sorrow

I try listening to Red. I just can't get into it. I heard one song, and the rest just gets old fast.

I am a sucker for RED. lol I'm not fond of the newest cd though. There's few ok tracks, but wasn't worth getting. I have the first 3 releases by them. IMO they remind me of Linkin Park,so if you hate that style,I can see why RED wouldn't be yer' cup of tea.

I'm with Ugly on this one...I remember hearing Breathe Into Me on the radio when it first came out and thought it was awesome, then I got the album and couldn't help but notice half the songs sounded just like it, and the other half were there's whiney low key emo songs. The longer they went on the more repetitive and watered down the music got. IMO.

Ugh...need some REAL metal.

Nothing new to Ugly I'm sure, but I just listened to them for the first time (known about them for a while). The music video is kind of cool, as well as the song. I'll have to hear more from them, pretty interesting.

They did that with "faceless" on "until we have faces" too. Red isn't really metal.. It's, well it's just Red.

This probably counts as mild metal. I guess it needs to be ranked in order of well, abrasiveness.

Thank You Zman.... finally some Real Metal being posted.

I believe Drottnar was working on a new album. Not sure where that's at now.

That Decyfer Down was real metal. Sort of...

You know what you're right. Here's a goodie, although I'm sure everyone has heard it before.

But this is still awesome because I played this song for a bible study group once. We met at my house for a change, and I played this with a pair of speakers I had repaired (double bonus points). Only one person freaked out, the rest just needed to see the lyrics. Triple bonus points because the woofers that came out of those repaired speakers came out of them and I later rebuilt the woofers and installed them into a pair of Genesis I's I got at good will for 10 dollars, and the original set of speakers were my mom's first good set of speakers. Quadruple bonus points because my Mom likes the new Soul Embraced. Quintuple bonus points because Soul Embraced and Living Sacrifice go together like peas and a pod and we had the following release schedule 2008 (SE - Dead Alive) 2010 (LS - The Infinite Order) 2013 (SE - Mythos), and we are suppoesed to get more Living Sacrifice.

Sextuple bonus points beacause this has to be the Soul Embraced album with my favorite cover art ever too. Crown of thorns, just the title - this is My blood (seriously, if someone doesn't get the bible reference they have issues). Man with a broken heart exposing it to the entire world (we're all broken as Christians, it's what we do).

Octople bonus points because this is my favorite track off this disc (but probably my number 3 fav Soul Embraced song).

This song.
Seriously I love the entire song. Especially the reference to leaving behind the tortured parts of one's self, baptized in fire.

Awesome music.

You can take my life but you can't
Kill what I have inside
What I have is forever
I hurt I bleed I die
I weep I hate I love
I breathe I need I fall
It's timeless
It's always been
It creates and destroys
The thrones of self condemned
Past wounds heal but the scars remain
I leave behind the tortured parts of me
Baptized in fire

By the way, what time are we doing the ritual sacrifice today? I forgot already.

True. Good music. But the only metal you've posted are 2 Soul Embraced songs. So.. yeah... so far i'm not seeing the metal man. I'm seeing fluff, fluff, fluff and one metal band. *sigh... i think this one has sold his soul for pop music lovin.

The thing is, GOOD CHRISTIAN METAL is really hard to find. But Ugly blows me away with his vast collection of listenable stuff. I've Favorited quite a few of the things he's posted up here.
I dunno, I also have a flavor for all music. Not just metal, even though I prefer it over anything else. Like I said before, when I converted I did a complete 180. From listening to satanic stuff to hardcore God-prais'n. To this day I still love listening to Leader of the Rats by Arch Enemy, but I still feel guilty about it since "Lucifer" translates to "Arch Enemy" and it's like..."Ughh.. I don't want to go to hell for this...." But I do still listen to All Shall Perish occasionally. I love double bass in any song. I don't think I should be listening to Dozer anymore, but I can't help eet ><
