The word trinity is not in the bible true But!!! There are 3 that bear witness The Father the Son and the Holy Spirit which are all God which total three I found the best testimony about the Trinity is ;

Romans 8:9-11
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. (Romans 8:9-11 NIV)

Hebrews 4
8For if Joshua had given them rest, Godb would not have spoken of another day later on. 9So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

11Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Jesus the Great High Priest
14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

...

The name Jesus, as found in several modern languages, is derived from the Latin Iesus, a transliteration of the Greek Ἰησοῦς (Iesous). The Greek form is a rendition of the Aramaic ישוע‎ (Yeshua), which is derived from the Hebrew יהושע‎ (Yehoshua).

Re: Study up...

There is no "2nd person" of the Trinity because the Trinity does not exist, for God is not comprised of "persons" because God is "spirit" and "spirit" is not a "person" as a "person" is a human being, and "spirit" is not a human being and so not a person

and moreover

Deut 6;4 - it is breaking the law to divide God.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (KJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

I find nowhere in the Bible the phrase "dividing God" or "divide God." (???????) I don't think anybody here is doing that. The words that come close are "God not dividing" are contained in this scripture.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Trinity means "God is divided into three" or even worse it means "three Gods."

That's right. It's not in the Bible. It's completely alien to the Bible. That's why you don't find the word "trinity" in the bible.

Of course we confess that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and the Holy Spirit is sent by the Father.

The godly conceive of this without dividing God. So how does Paul the apostle to the gentiles, conceive of it.

The word God denotes the Father, and connotes the godhead, which is to say, The Father and the Logos and the Holy Spirit, as all three form a unity in heaven for all are one. Christ is the image of God, so how will you separate the reality from the image if one can conceive of neither because both are beyond human conception?

Jesus said "The Father is in me and I am in the Father. I and the Father are one."

So even if one could conceive of separate heavenly entities, how will you distinguish them?"

What is the point of this philosophizing? So you can burn people at the stake who disagree with you?

Just reflect on the fate of Byzantium, the capital city of Trinitarianism, and Rome too, which has spent much of its life being the capital city of European debauchery. For what purpose serves Trinitarianism? You tell me.

I do not dispute. But I really want to know what you advocating, and explaining how that fits, relating it to this verse.

1 Corinthians 15:28 (KJV)

[SUP]28 [/SUP]And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

I couldn't agree more that "one" means "Unit of one."

Three Persons, One Being.

Simple.

Just as scripture informs the reader.

Re: Study up...

Exactly. And who were those who went around saying "God is a person."?

Pagans.

Do you see the problem with saying "God is three persons?"

It's just what the pagans say.

El & Baal, Tammuz and Nimrod, Odin and Thor etc etc. Add the wife and that makes 3. Actually the Roman Trinity is really God, Jesus and Mary the Theokotos.

The Trinity is far more a reflection of pagan belief systems than anything found in the bible.

Show us ONE pagan triad which mandates that three persons are one being.

Good luck...

The Trinity. It had to mandate that its three Gods, specifically God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost (or rather God the Theokotos - that's another deception) were one God in order to deceive the world.

Rev 13:11 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon."

Rev 13:14 "And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."

Rev 13:15 "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."

Here we see the Trinitarian beast revert the world back to paganism by deception, giving life to the "image of the beast." i.e. pagan idols. Trinitarianism gives life to the old pagan idol system.

Show us where scripture states that God is the result of counted things.

You can't.

You can only provide your unreferenced opinion...

No.

We are still waiting to see that 'silver-bullet Trinity-killer' verse....where and when can we expect to see it...?

I agree.

The phrase that is repeated in the gospels...'He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire'...refers to the First & Second Resurrection events.

The subsequent verse attached to this proclamation is followed by...'and will gather the wheat into His storehouse, but the chaff He will burn up with fire that cannot be put out.'

Clearly, the First Resurrection is mentioned in which the Righteous are gathered first...and then the Second Resurrection event is fire for the unrighteous ones being judged...

Re: Study up...

No.

You need to study scripture before making that ignorant comment.

Jesus repeats over, and over, and over again in the NT that Moses wrote about HIM.

Well....what did Moses write about The Son?

Moses declared that The Son was 'The Glory'....'The Word of God'....'The Messenger of God'....Yahweh, etc, etc.....LONG before NT times had come.....and.....ALL of these epithets were applied to what was SEEN of the Second Person of the Trinity BEFORE He was known as The Son!
Do you have scripture of Jesus being called Yahweh? asking out of curiosity because if so that would be something I'd have to look at.

Consider these passages from Exodus…

And Elohim spoke to Moses and said to him, I am Yahweh. And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as El Shaddai (God Almighty), and by My name, Yahweh, I have not been known to them. (Exo 6.2 – 3)

Here, we have the astounding revelation by the Triune God that the patriarchs did not know Him by His name, Yahweh.

If they did not know Him by His name, Yahweh, then what did they know Him by?

They knew Him by El Shaddai (God Almighty), The Son (Gen 17.1, 28.3, 35.11, 43.14, 48.3, 49.25).

Malek Yahweh, El Shaddai, also the Son, revealed to Moses that He was ‘I AM’ and Yahweh (Exo 3.14 – 15, 6.3).

The Triune God has always held one name. Even the NT confirms that the Father, Son & Spirit share the same singular name (Mat 28.19).

Do you have scripture that show that "the son" is called Yahweh though. (Please continue using Elohim and Yahweh instead of "God" while explaining this because I look at those words very differently. If not I will look them up for myself though.)

Jacob wrestles with The God-man

Gen 32.24 - 30

And Jacob was left alone. And a Man wrestled with him until the ascending of the dawn. And He saw that He had not prevailed against him. And He touched on his hip socket, and Jacob's hip socket was unhinged as he wrestled with Him. And He said, Send Me away, for the dawn has ascended. And he said, I will not let You go unless You bless me. And He said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. And He said, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and have prevailed. And Jacob asked and said, Please reveal Your name. And He said, Why this that you ask about My name? And He blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place Face of God, because I saw God face to face, and my life is delivered.

• The man with whom Jacob wrestled, said that Jacob had wrestled with God (Gen 32.28)
• Jacob believed that the man was telling the truth (Gen 32.30)
• Jacob said that the man he wrestled, was God – that he had seen God face to face (Gen 32.30)
The man with whom Jacob wrestled, changed Jacob’s name to Israel (Gen 32.28)…compare to (1Ki 18.31; 2 Ki 17.34) which both state that Yahweh changed Jacob’s name
• Jacob wrestled with The Elohim-man
• Jacob wrestled with The Yahweh-man
• Jacob wrestled with The God-man
• Jacob wrestled with The second person of the Trinity, The Son

I wouldn't say you can say he wrestled with "the son" because it doesn't say that, but you did bring up some really good points. I'll have to go and look into it myself some and I'll get back to you.
