*ties a string around one Nickety's fingers*

Don't forget about us. Enjoy your break, doll. ^_^

ok fenner, i'm going to post this again (assuming you haven't seen it before): please tell me what the deal is with your avatar? it looks to me like a gray squirrel with a teeny tiny oxygen tank. :)
Monicat, here's a larger picture of the pony in Fenner's avvy:

He's a background character that was designed to look like the Tenth Doctor, and the fans noticed immediately and christened him Doctor Whooves.

There have been a number of threads in the past two weeks that I've not participated in. They are not bad threads, but just bring back too many bad memories. Even some of the threads I HAVE posted in do this. Sometimes, I feel sadness, regret, anger. More often, I just don't want to rehash things internally.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I thnk I feel a beach trip coming on.

Shors explanation is what it is. But for me I'm a Doctor Who fan and my Daughter the MLP fan found this and I thought it was cute.

I feel like it's the 11th hour.
Not sharing this to complain or whine...just a bit stressed.
Sometimes it's so hard not to make that choice to embrace the anxiety or worry of a situation.
It's right there in your face, all around you.
Today is a struggle for me.
I felt it when I went to bed last night...and I think I actually fell asleep praying.
I rarely do that.
I'm not at all sure what God is up to...or even wants from me.
I know that He's the same today as He's always been. Unchanging.
He loves me.
Though I often question why. I mean I "know" the pat answers...I just deal with the inadequacy of it all.
I need a few breakthroughs,like soon.
He knows this...maybe I am missing something...maybe I don't really know what He knows.
Something really odd I've noticed just this morning...
I have been praying for a handful of people quite a bit lately,I don't even know fully why with a few of them.
It's like the more stressed I feel or anxious..it's like God will bring people to mind & just be like: "Pray. Now."
So is there some strange divine parallel between my own urgency & prayer for others?
(not even sure what I am saying...still feel half asleep)
So...ummm..yeah...I'm trying very had this morning not to freak out & embrace worry. Not just in my own life..but in giving other people's situations over to God as well.
*ty Lord for giving us the strength we need to overcome...more so, the eyes to see that we already have in Christ*

This reminded me of so many of my CC brothers..

This can't be good, guys.

If Pipp had said that most of the CC guys reminded her of this....

If would have been better. Or even if the CC husbands were this....

blinder.png

But no - we remind Pipp of pink horses. This is ....definitely not good.

Maybe God wants you to get out of your anxiety Jim. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I do know when I focus on other things or people I tend to put my own anxieties out of my mind.

I went to a funeral yesterday for my second cousin. He was 77, he had a stroke in 1988 that left him in a coma for weeks and he wasn't expected to live. He came out with some short term memory loss and having to learn to do everything for himself again.

His sister Patty, was born disabled, something with her spine, but she can't walk at all anymore. She always has a smile from ear to ear. Even when she cries she can break out of that cry in a minute and smile. It's amazing to me. When I was a little kid she and her Mother my Aunt Susie, would dote on me. I was like their living baby doll for a long time. His sister wrote a eulogy for him and in it she told a story of something Richard had said a few weeks after he woke up from his coma. She said she was driving them to the lake and he told her that when he was in the coma he heard a voice. She asked him what the voice was, he said it was Jesus. He begged Jesus to let him come with him and Jesus told him he had to go back because he had a purpose. He asked what his purpose was, Jesus told him he would know when he came back. He told her that he know's his purpose is to tell people not to be afraid to die. She said I also know his purpose was to be here with me too. She said, he helped me physically and I helped him mentally, two people made whole together.

It was probably the most beautiful eulogy I've ever heard.

We all have a purpose Jim. You will find your's. It took me many years to figure mine out, but it's to serve God and others.

My prayer is your purpose shine's through to you soon. God Bless you.

dr whooves? adorable. wait, that's a horse?

thanks so much for the explanation even though i'm clearly not appreciating it's full value. however, that's my fault. my tv interests are really pretty sparse. :)

I know this isn't the poems forum or even the bad poetry thread, but I hope that this in some way makes you feel strong today, if you need that. God is our sword, Jesus is our shield, we can take it!

How Did You Die?
By Edward Vance Cooke

Did you tackle that trouble that came your way
With a resolute heart and cheerful?
Or hide your face from the light of day
With a craven soul and fearful?
Oh, a trouble's a ton, or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it,
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only how did you take it?

You are beaten to earth? Well, well, what's that?
Come up with a smiling face.
It's nothing against you to fall down flat,
But to lie there -- that's disgrace.
The harder you're thrown, why the higher you bounce;
Be proud of your blackened eye!
It isn't the fact that you're licked that counts,
It's how did you fight—and why?

And though you be done to the death, what then?
If you battled the best you could,
If you played your part in the world of men,
Why, the Critic will call it good.
Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce,
And whether he's slow or spry,
It isn't the fact that you're dead that counts,
But only how did you die?

Btw..Jen,Yer' right...I think God has used times of me praying for other's simply to show me how to take my eyes off myself. Maybe it's a side effect or benefit of prayer. You can't think about "me me me" when you have your heart & mind set on other's. Just like when we chose to pick up things in our lives instead of laying those things down & embracing God's truth. It's all interwoven.

It also brings to mind the relationship between a man & a woman. Two unique beautiful creatures that God has joined together, and like I have always believed,no matter if it's your marriage or even your close friends or family...you should be loving & giving & bringing 100% of you to that relationship. None of this 50/50 junk! Why would you ever short change those you love with only 50% of yourself or the love that God has placed in you to give????

Pride.
Selfishness.
Fear.

None of those thing's are born from the Spirit of God.
...and prayer is one of those thing's ,so it seems that allow you to truly give of yourself 100%...so that your eyes are on God...on those you are interceding for. In the end,I think prayer is really more for "us" than it is for the other person.
I dunno...I'm still learning new thing's every day, hopefully I'll never get to a point where I think I've arrived at some great mystery & close myself off. I've kinda done that in the past, and I don't like being around that version of me.

Okay...I'm back for now. Streams is too good to vent on. I could vent to my cat but she'd just stare at me blink and go back to cleaning herself.

I am getting bored with my job. I need a change. I applied to be a Autism Tutor and never even received a call... I reapplied and applied as a support worker for another agency. Been here for 2 years, I'm getting bored.

Prayers are most welcomed. I have the experience and personality/ character to work these jobs, but I'm coming up with nothing

PersNickety, didn't you just get transferred to another location? Perhaps the new people you will be working with there will keep things more interesting. Praying for ya now.

Also, praying for YOU iTore. I love how you lay your words out on paper. Makes me feel like I know ya. My prayer for you is one of peace, assurance and a calm and quiet spirit. God has you in his hands.
