Which prophet besides Jesus revived a person thought to be dead?
I think the answer is Elisha's bones...

2 Kings 13:20-21:
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Elisha died and was buried.
Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.

I don't know if that was the answer Ariel was looking, but I'll ask my question anyway:

Q: Who built the first altar to God?

No prophet revived anyone who was thought to be dead.

The people were resurected. They were people who WERE dead, not THOUGHT to be dead

you are calling Gods word a liar when you say they were THOUGHT to be dead when GOds word plainly states they WERE dead.

Lazarus was dead for three days and was stinking

John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

oh ye of doubt and unbelief!

Well, I don't know if that was the answer. Ariel's question and choice of words was a bit confusing to me too...
And I didn't call God a liar!

i dunno about all this existential talk :)

And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying,
‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.
(Mark 12:26-27)

I just saw in the rules and didn't know I had to provide verses to the answer. Sorry everybody! I answered from memory and it took me a little while to find the verses. Here is the scripture to back my answer....

Jonah 3:5-7 shows ALL the people of Nineveh believing God, repenting, and being saved.
Jonah 4:11 showes Nineveh's greatness in size.

I would also like to add that the symbolism of the salvation/revival of Nineveh is a wonderful foreshadow of Christ.

And now I'm supposed to ask a question too huh? Ok here goes....

In the book of Revelation/Apocalypse, who is the beast that John had to deal with? I'll give you a hint. There are a total of 8 beasts throughtout the bible. It's one of the 8. History repeats itself.....

The answer is Elijah.
The verses that I was supposed to include is 2 Kings 4:32-35. Please note how many times the child sneezes. It is God's fingerprint.

And I guess I'm supposed to ask a question again I guess.

I just saw that computers and google searches are allowable to find answers? That is cheating! Lol. I should make my questions hard. But instead I'll ask an easy one.

How often is the Lord's supper supposed to be celebrated and what is supposed to be eaten for the Lord's supper? I'll give you a hint. Christ and the desciples ate it during the last supper.

Pray in the wilderness? Luke 5:16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.Which prophet besides Jesus revived a person thought to be dead?
The answer was Baptism. :)

Matthew 3:16-17 NASB

After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased."

Luke 12:49-50 NASB

"I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!"

For your question, is the answer Elijah or Elisha? Well two prophets did raise the dead through the power of God lol, but I don't know if the the persons were thought to be dead, because they were really dead, so maybe my answer isn't right.

2 Kings 4:32-35 NASB

When Elisha came into the house, behold the lad was dead and laid on his bed. So he entered and shut the door behind them both and prayed to the Lord. And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands, and he stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child became warm. Then he returned and walked in the house once back and forth, and went up and stretched himself on him; and the lad sneezed seven times and the lad opened his eyes.

1 Kings 17:17-24 NASB

Now it came about after these things that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him. So she said to Elijah, "What do I have to do with you, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my iniquity to remembrance and to put my son to death!" He said to her, "Give me your son." Then he took him from her bosom and carried him up to the upper room where he was living, and laid him on his own bed. He called to the Lord and said, "O Lord my God, have You also brought calamity to the widow with whom I am staying, by causing her son to die?" Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and called to the Lord and said, "O Lord my God, I pray You, let this child's life return to him." The Lord heard the voice of Elijah, and the life of the child returned to him and he revived. Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, "See, your son is alive." Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the L ord in your mouth is truth."

The answer is Jonah.
Ding ding ding.............Jonah 3:1,2 & 4:11 "And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying, [SUP] [/SUP]Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee." Heh I see what you are meaning here now brother and I see why the question so tricky indeed lol. However remember that Jonah went with zeal to prophesy the destruction of Ninevah. Yet again Jesus saved all the people there and even Jonah was angry about this and had to repent himself to Jesus!

Jonah 4
1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Therefore now, O Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Then said the Lord, Doest thou well to be angry?
[SUP]5 [/SUP]So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And the Lord God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Then said the Lord, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

Seems like a theological question to me brother since there are three beasts in Revelation. Heh I think anything dealign with Revelation might fairly be a theological question, indeed whole sections of topics are devoted to it, are they not?

Nevertheless to answer your question I am assuming you mean the beast that the harlot with the name written on her head rides upon that was and is not.

Revelation 17
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Those are your words, not the bible's. God told him to preach. You dislike being wrong so much you have to twist scripture?
Did not Jonah even himself say he was angry with Ninevah? Is it twisting scripture to say Jonah was so angry with Ninevah he even set up a chair to watch it burn after his prophecy? Jesus saved Ninevah that day even though indeed Jonah's prophecies did come to pass later. Indeed God told him to preach therefore Jesus saved Ninevites of that time era indeed! Jonah didn't even wanna go preach, lol, he tried to flee to Tarshish even!

Your question is good though and I get where you're going with it. Heh Jonah's story is pretty awesome. Jonah helped a lot of people convert to Christianity in each chapter though he not even meaning to according to his own words! Tries to go to Tarshish on a boat with a bunch of pagans, Jesus sends a storm, they convert and throw him overboard as he tell them. Jonah in the sea creature decides he will do as God says and the creature spews him out not far from his destination. Jonah tells Ninevah they're going to be destroyed they convert instead and Jesus saved that generation of Ninevah. Jonah is angry at Ninevah and even sets up a seat to watch if it'll get utterly annhilated before his very eyes. Jesus reassures Jonah to not be angry and I believe even save Jonah.

Good theological study indeed I think.

1 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
