Disney is probably one of the most easily recognizable propaganda machines out there. I'd highly suggest anyone to look into the ridiculous amounts of subliminal messages and pictures Disney pumps into their films. I would say Disney is at minimum highly obsessed with sexuality merely just on the basis that they find a way to hide the word "Sex" as well as other sexually suggestive content in just about every single film.

And sadly those are just the lighter matters of Disney's brainwashing attempts. Then you take a little deeper look into Disney and oh my, things are quite dark in the magic kingdom indeed.

a lot of things changed after Walt died,
and a lot of people think of Disney as the same company they were 50 years ago -
though they are far from it now.

i was kinda sad that they bought the rights to distribute Miyazaki's animations in the US -
too bad they've become associated in that way, though Disney hasn't got any say at all over their production and their content. to me, Studio Ghibli's work is much closer in heart to the features Disney used to produce, much closer than what Disney actually makes today.

All of my favorite movies seem to be Disney movies.

Mary Poppins
Beauty and the Beast
Sleeping Beauty
Little Mermaid
Frozen
Toy Story movies
Cinderella
Snow White
One Hundred and One Dalmations
Alice in Wonderland

I'm a big kid at heart. I love cartoons. Agree that the Disney Channel is pretty woeful. I remember when I was a kid they had great stuff like Avonlea. Now it's all tween stuff.

I'm not saying that violence on T.V. is right but violence is a part of life and it does happen. Life is not all sparkles and ponies like people want their kids to imagine it. Yes, you can control what your kids watch...but eventually they will sneak around to watch it anyways on the internet...I've done it plenty when I was younger. With technology becoming easier to access for kids, you can't keep kids under the rocks forever. Sheltering just doesn't work that way.

great art still comes out of the Disney studios, but would Walt Disney himself have ever produced Maleficent, coming soon to a theater near you? i doubt it. He would have made "Sleeping Beauty."
the good things that come out of Disney these days are things they bought or bought rights to distribute, like Pixar and Studio Ghibli. the Star Wars franchise is a decoration to hide the ugliness in their heart, IMO. it's sinister.

Lol idk, even the movies made while Disney was alive are chock full of lewd subliminals and dark themes. Then again it is little wonder when considerring the fact Walt Disney had some very questionable connections himself.

I not a big Disney fan, and I blocked the Disney Channels on my TV. I believe that if you really want to take a family vacation, you should do it every Saturday (or any other day that you are off work). Get off the couch and spend the day on a picnic at the one of natures beautiful parks. Take a family walk every day. Have a family cookout. Spend the evening star gazing (God created a magnificent universe). Get up and go to church on Sunday. And leave the phones at home.

God provided so much beauty. Enjoy it.

I don't care about Disney one way or the other,
but I DO care about an atheist who keeps injecting her own
views of morality into discussions among Christians.

1. Lizathrose has proven herself, over and over, to be an atheistic apologist here to do nothing more than disrupt these forums, and offer a contrary opinion to EVERYTHING Christian or Biblical that is discussed.

2. An atheistic has no basis for belief in absolute right and wrong, and thus really has no basis for moral judgements of any kind at all.
I've gotta say... this really speaks against what Christians, and what Christianity is about. We're supposed to be tolerant of all people and of all faiths. The Apostle Paul would not criticize Lizathrose for being an atheist and voicing her opinion, instead he would challenge and discuss the tenets of our faith in depth, in hopes that he can breakthrough and achieve a point of mutual understanding.

This doesn't mean we tear down the people who believe differently than we. It just means we talk and communicate with them, and hopefully in setting a good example we can lead the way for others to follow, as we follow Christ in our journey, so shall they join us. We hope.

I'll be the last person to agree with some of the views Lizathrose has, but I will be the first to stand up for her right to speak her mind in civil discussion on a civilized forum. Because if anything, we prove her point and make her case for her when she challenges us in open debate, by responding with an invalid argument. So far her membership here hasn't caused the forum to cave in on itself, so whatever her agenda might be doesn't really matter. I know what I believe in at the end of the day and the opinion of a man or woman can't change the absolute truths that exist in our universe.

I agree. In Matthew 5:44, Jesus tells us "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you". Enough said.

True Christians should stay as far away from Disney as possible. Why? Their shows condone homosexuality. Zoey 101 has two parents for Charlie's playdate both being women. They don't say "that's wrong and sinful to marry the same sex" they say "hey lets watch some football"

I've heard about the new movie "Frozen" promoting the gay agenda, but whether or not that's true, I won't waste my time watching any more of it than I already have, about 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back.

Don't forget about "gay day" at disneyworld.

I will say first off that I love disney. I'm actually at Disneyland typing this. But the thing is as the franchise seems to get darker and darker with movies like Malefecant and shows like Once Upon a Time that focus on dark magic...what stance are you supposed to take? I'm gonna have kids someday, are there any words of wisdom or opinions about this?
First of all, it's not wrong to think that Disney isn't all good news but let's get some things straight. The problem isn't the dark tone of movies, the issue is more the worldview and attitudes presented. Are they healthy, beneficial? Also, movies like Maleficent and TV series like Once Upon A Time, while Disney are also made for older audiences - maybe 12 years old and up. I believe it's good to be discerning. That said, the dark magic in most (not all) fairytale stories isn't anything like real witchcraft. It's not the sort forbidden in the Bible. You can't say a few words and shoot lightening or fire from your fingertips. Work it out with God. See what he says.

My favourite Disney movies are The Lion King, Mulan, The Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis.

Okay, if there's one thing that I have left to say then I'll say this.

Frozen DOES NOT promote homosexuality in any way. It only shows two sisters and the extents they have to show their love for one another throughout the whole movie. I really have no idea where people get that idea. If anything I think it's one of the best of recent Disney movies they've made in quite a while.

I will just say this, I do not like for my son to watch anything on the Disney channel and when he's with me this is easy because we no longer have cable. I also do not watch any of the Disney movies with him, I'd rather for him to play educational games and watch educational shows if that's what we're going to do. I used to watch Once Upon a Time and quite frankly it got entirely too dark for me. I don't view a lot of the dark magic stuff as "being for a lesson" or "fake" because some of the undertones behind what's portrayed on there is very real. Not everyone wants to recognize this, but the same goes for a lot of Disney movies and TV shows which is why my son will not watch them. I didn't even watch Disney until I was about 10 or so. I am not so enamored by Disney that I don't see the truth. Sometimes we overlook the truth so we can keep on watching those things that we like, and if you want to do that, so be it.
