Have you ever realized that The KJV has been under attack. The NIV is not under attack nor is the Message bible nor is the NASB or some other translation. Why is the KJV under such scrutiny.

Because the devil only attacks that which is from God. If he's got you then he leaves you alone.

Your comments please.

Well having studied a bit and being honest with History and the truth about the King James I have come to the following....

The reason it gets assaulted so much is at least five fold....

1. Because people worship the version instead of the God of the version
2. Because people believe that God would inspire 54 Episcopalians
3. Because it is a TRANSLATION and TRANSLITERATION copied almost VERBATIM from the first English BIBLE
4. Because it contains transliterated words that should have been translated
5. Because PEOPLE worship the King James Version

Just to name 5

If people worshiped the KJV don't you think that Satan would leave it alone, because he wins? But why does he fight it so much?

A lot of the churches in my area are KJV-only churches (rural West Virginia) and a lot of church goers don't actually read the Bible for themselves because they have difficulty understanding the KJV. Like I said in another post, this is very similar to how the Catholics use to operate. Keep the church service in a language you can't understand, keep the Bible in a language that the common man has trouble reading and understanding.

The KJV is under attack because it has power! The language structure of the newer translations obliterate one's ability to understand God's word.

Amen to that brother. I'm just waiting on the next revision of the NIV. I know it's already underway and the truth's that it will eliminate and use psychology.

No...I think Satan wins any time something is placed above God and worshipped and many have gone to seed on the KJV only theory.......and I have seen churches split, families split and stupid statements like the following from KJV only worshippers..

1. Paul and Jesus quoted from the King James
2. If the King James was good enough for the disciples/Apostles

Absurdity is a word that comes to mind!

The NIV is a joke as well as it takes out critical words...which is no different than TRANSLITERATION in stead of TRANSLATION!

To be quite frank and having studied Greek a bit....There are more grammatically correct versions!

People will do stupid things, but Satan is trying to do away with the KJV. Because he hates it and is pushing the NIV which is accepted by many churches.

Yes I know that KJV has a few mis translations, but it was done by men wich always causes mistakes. But, the Holy Spirit lead these men and some were not Christians just linguistics and God can use an unsaved person just as He can use a saved person if you know your bible.

But the question is why is the KJV under such scrutiny and even rejected?

I do not like the NIV. I think it has a lot of mistranslations and missing words, BUT the reason that the KJV gets attacked is mainly because, IMO, there are those who push so hard for it to be THE ONLY TRUE WORD OF GOD. It gets scrutinized because of the KJ only. Ironic, I know, but because the KJ only people push so hard - The KJ gets pushed back. If the KJ people would stop being bullies, then maybe, just maybe, the KJ wouldn't be attacked.

I don't know, maybe it turns out to be a good thing - Maybe more people try to confirm the Hebrew, K-Greek, and Aramaic because of the KJ only pushers. I don't agree with y'all, but maybe it is a blessing in disguise!

Yes I know, but as I have said in instances where it say's "corn" it would have been better translated as wheat or barley because they didn't have corn. But they are all grain and it does not take away from the meaning of the text.

But I will say this as well: Many of us don't even understand the structure of those languages - so even when we read the individually translated words, we don't know how to "put them together" properly. I have heard that dabbling in Greek is dangerous, and to some degree, I agree. I experience this frequently, while trying to figure what a questionable verse might really say, I figure out that a word can mean multiple things, that I can't confirm a negative or lack thereof, and I can't confirm the past, present, or future tense. I have heard that K-Greek doesn't have those tenses in the sense that English has them.

Some one who worships the King Jim would say that.....Galatians chapter 1....another used twice and translated another twice....go look words up...two different words two different meanings

No I am a tongue talking Pentecostal. I do not consider Episcopalian's as a church now that they have Homos as pastors.
