In my opinion the falling away is not backsliding Christians, the falling away is a falling away from the true source of life IN CHRIST ALONE. The falling away will be manifested in works based religions in which their core SYSTEMS rely upon. The martyrs were killed for their proclamation of Grace and freedom....why? Because The good news of Christ would have put a serious hurt on the systems relying on people's works. It's very simple. The "church" depends on brainwashed individuals to support its work based theology.

If you're going to post in the bible discussion forums you will need to become accustomed to mockery, insults and ridicule. It's the norm here.

The text you are referring to is Hebrews 6. Have you ever taken a look at that text? What you are saying bears absolutely no resemblance to what the Hebrew writer is saying.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I was going to respond and say or maybe she is referencing 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2, but you beat me to the punch.

There are about nine different passages that refer to "falling away." Hebrews 6 explains exactly what is involved in falling away.

Let's never forget that the martyrs didn't put the church between quotes (as in a mockery) and they actually died for the sake of Christ and His Church.

Unfortunately, the modern people have no idea what the church means, why did the christians believed that the church (communion with the living God) was the end of religions (seeking God).

Also, the church never saw the sacraments as "work based theology". They believed they really united with Christ through baptism and really partaking with Christ in the Eucharist. And this belief can also be seen in the names they had: "theophor" means "bearer of God". The martyr Saint Ignacius of Antioch was also called Ignacius the Teophor.

Here's a nice verse that explains what is to have fallen away.

Matthew 18:12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?

doesnt matter how we see it, it only matters how God sees it. If anything we do adds to or takes away from the finished work of Christ, his death becomes in vain.

Tell this to the people who believe that a piece of land is actually a greater gift than Christ.

There are only two churches. His church or mans "church".....the true church has 1 head and that is Jesus Christ.

You are absolutely correct .... including "backsliding Christians" [those who are not believers in the first place]

There is a time coming when 8 billion on the earth have refused to believe the truth about Jesus Christ, just who He is, and any related absolutes

.... close today .... not much time left

And not just in the halls of professing Christianity for sure .... but every where on the earth

He is patient .... but only for so long [2 Peter 3] and then His day [the day of the Lord] is going to break open without warning

I believe that there is a particular setting that will cause Him to move, and it is the conflict and controversy between Israel and the Middle Eastern Muslims

A microcosm of the trigger point ..... the contrast of the Muslim falling away [could not be further] and Israel's current blindness [which is going to change]

Both are highly visible players in the falling, but for different reasons

This stand off the Lord is going to remedy for all the world to see ..... and both are headed for His wrath to come .... soon

No question that the nations of the Gentiles have all but fallen away today .... there is little godliness left

So because of the fall of humanity from His providence and direction by choice .... He will settle the score [Psalms; 2 Thessalonians 2; Revelation 6:12-17]

He did it before {Genesis 6] .... He is going to do it again

All the christian churches claim to have Jesus Christ as head.

what they claim does not matter, denominations=division, if Christs blood ALONE is not the foundation, it is merely a "church" aka institution, not part of HIS church, how be it, there may be individuals within those false systems that understand Gods grace and part of his true body

2 Pet 3:17 "Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness."

2 Pet 1:10 "
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:"

James 5:12 "
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation."

Heb 6:4,5,6 "
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

Heb 4:11 "
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any manfall after the same example of unbelief."

1 Tim 3:6,7 "
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride hefall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover he (a bishop) must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil."

1 Cor 10:12 "
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest hefall."

Gal 5:4 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."

Acts 1:25 "That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place"

These verses all have to do with falling from salvation to condemnation. Logically, one that is ALWAYS fallen cannot fall.
