I am so mad I have no idea what to do with myself. I literally feel I'm about to have a manic episode I am so angry with me. I think my anger is ironically what is managing to give me the bravery to put this out there. And of course the fact I am very sick has definitely amplified my emotional state.

*deep breath*

Ok. This is a sin that I had for a long time, and God helped me out of it about 2 years ago. Recently I relapsed, and I am having so much of a struggle with it.

No porn is involved fortunately, and I am indeed still a virgin. Please pray for me.

You are definitely not alone in this regard and I will pray for you. The sex drive was put into place by God when He created male and female human beings. Jesus humbled Himself for a short time by taking on the form of a man during His time on earth and understands full well the human condition. Don't beat yourself up about this - pray to God for only pure thoughts to enter into your thoughts. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done and it can get very frustrating at times. As I have said, you are not alone. This does not make it right but it does make it understandable.

you are not alone in that boat!

As long as we have hormones and life in this longing flesh, the struggle is alive.

Prayers to remove the guilt or to be removed from the human flesh?

I guess prayers for me to be forgiving to myself. I can't be taken out the flesh I know, not even to remove the guilt either. Because I want to honestly remember how crap I feel so I don't do it again.

Also I seem to really have a near angry aversion to anything sexual right now. Which may not be bad, I just don't want to have a wrong idea about that stuff.

I know you like art so maybe when you are tempted you could draw something of God's creation - flower, animal etc. and get your mind off the problem at hand and think about how God might have felt creating the thing you are drawing....this was just the first thing that popped into my head.....praying of course for help but being busy might help too.

I´m twice older than you so my guilt is being human, daydreaming like any other else in this marveluos world.

Happily divorced (I married wrongly, probably as my ex-wife) so, the more I think of such guilt, the real boat would sink, but here those prayers would come to heal us all, because He knows what´s the battle...

Just look at this, for prayers:

Heb 2:14 Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, he himself also shared the same things, so that by his death he might destroy the one who has the power of death (that is, the devil)
Heb 2:15 and might free those who were slaves all their lives because they were terrified by death.
Heb 2:16 For it is clear that he did not come to help angels. No, he came to help Abraham's descendants,
Heb 2:17 thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people's sins.
Heb 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

typo God: meant to steph God is working in you not God twice i m really proud of you for being so brave steph. like others have said if you beat yourself up thats silly cause we all have to repent we re all sinners so dont think youre alone. When God delivered me set free from something similiar -i was having sexual dreams from unclean spirits what helps was the root cause. I was lonely. And im pretty sure with masturbation its the same if one is a single unmarried christian they believe the enemys lie 'hey im single i cant have sex so ill masturbate and itl just be the same' but its not why have a counterfeit when you can wait till marriage and have the real deal. Also too satisfication you need to be satisfied in your relationship with God obviously if youre deeply honest youre unhappy and maybe lonely. Rather than say only to God 'oh God take this ' also tell him you want to be so more joyful in him. Also stress is a factor. how do you not get stressed enough to fall into temptation? pray about it. keep communicating with God keep a really open relationship. by the way God i can tell God is working in your life steph i love your confidence that he's given. your precious to the cc family.

Hey ArtsieSteph. I've seen some of your posts and threads around. You seem like such a happy, bright, uplifting kind of person. Thank you so much for having the bravery to share your struggle. Will be praying. There are many people here as you already know who will encourage and support you to move away from any relapses. Praying that you get the courage, wisdom and strength you need in order to give this sin up. God encourage her and constantly remind her of your presence, love and support.

Whenever I am tempted in that area I ask myself what I am feeling insecure about. These types of self medicating behaviors always start with an insecurity of one sort or another.

I'm way older then you and have given into this sin way too long. It's like being a junkie needing a fix. I don't know if I will ever stop. But if it's not this sin it's another. I don't condone any sin. But I also know that He is faithful and just and forgives all sin that is owned up to. How many times will God forgive you? A lifetime's worth. Read 1 John 3:20

Whenever I am tempted, no matter what the temptation may be, I wonder where the temptation originates. Does it simply come from the lust of the flesh? (I suspect that most of my temptations originate in my own weak flesh). Or, does the temptation originate from the whispers of an evil spirit that knows my weaknesses? (Whisper "chocolate" to a kid sometime and then ask him what he is thinking. Of course he will say "chocolate!!")

Wherever the temptations come from, this forum is great to provide a place for us to lift each other up in prayer. I will pray for you, brother! Please pray for me also!!

The fact that no porn is involved makes you even further ahead of the sin then you actually know, that's a good thing!

Now being upfront with you, I don't know how masturbating works within the mind of a woman so i'm not going to give you the same advice I would give a man. I can't speak for a woman but usually these urges occur when you're not doing anything but sitting around, chilling, or in bed thinking. Whether that's the same case for you or not, try this...

When you do feel the urge to masturbate, instead of masturbating make a little journal where you can write your feelings down, or better yet write a letter to God of what's going on. That will show God that you're really trying to fight this sin and it will also keep you occupied from not doing it. While you're writing or when you finish, God will come down and work his heavenly magic and lift that weight off your chest and everything will be ok. When the urges come again, go back and reflect with what you wrote down and reflect the torment it caused you so you don't do it again.

You have a strong heart for coming forward with this, many just try to make it on their own and struggle with it even longer than they have to. You are a truly blessed person and I believe in you, you'll definitely overcome! When you do overcome, be there for those who are going through the same struggle. They'll need your advice to win!

God Bless!

FOR $64,000, give me one Bible verse on masturbation.

Lust is a sin, yes.
So does someone have proof that everyone who masturbates is also lusting, visualizing in the mind doing sex with someone?

Now if you somehow are postulating that something is a sin which is neither a violation of Love God nor Love neighbor as self, methinks you are into legalism.

Let us refrain from adding to scripture.
To be sure if you act against faith you sin.
But beware of making your own list of sins which are not in the Bible.

Perhaps you should check what Dr. Dobson said about this.

Nothing there on that topic at all, unless you think it is doing something good, as for prostate health prescribed by a urologist in some cases.
I thought that verse meant if we were convicted not to do something and we are convicted it is sin then it is to us?
So wouldn't mastribation fall into that category if someone was convicted not to do it?
