I just went through a series of experiences that brought me back to God while subsequently losing all my "friends" it was good I suppose that these people are gone but awfully lonely. I asked God for Christian friends a couple years back and a church home and it never happeNed. (No blame or anger just truth) fast forward to now... and I was going to try a new church today.. I am really craving Christian community and once again I couldn't get myself to leave the house. I rarely leave my house anymore and have lost all motivation. I think partly to do with depression after these series of events. Anyone out there?

You are not alone in suffering with depression. Perhaps this site can become an online church for you. Everyone in this community has a story. I am sure that yours will be fascinating as well. Welcome to CC.

sorry for that....but God is the only solution to what u are passing through now. Christian cannot give u solution to ur comfort...they supplement or sometimes add to ur problems. Allow God to guide you to ur peace.

Did you know that depression is a spirit? Yes, it is...but not exactly a heavenly spirit, but one that overcomes you..one that tries to control your humanity. A demonic spirit..but it can be cast out...and made to flee, but only in the name of JESUS. You have spiritual gifts that you have yet to discover, but you can't be effective to anyone, especially to JESUS CHRIST living as a hermit in your own house. You cannot be a lone wolf. GOD places people across our pathways who can help, who can direct, etc, in like manner, YOU can help others....When seeking a 'church"..take this into consideration. DO not choose, according to race or location..choose when you can discern that the Holy Spirit is allowed and invited into the worship service. When that happens, rest assured that the evil spirit that is trying to keep you under wraps will flee. Some label those kinds of churchs as Happy/Clappy..as opposed to Frozen/Chosen. I am praying for you to grow, spiritually and get out of this shell or cocoon that you are trapped in...in the name of JESUS Christ! There are plenty like you out here in cyber space...but they have VICTORY when JESUS takes over instead of your doubts, fears and vexation of depressive spirits. THIS is a real spiritual battle you are involved in. YOu need others who are holy spirit filled to surround, support and aid to keep this from robbing you of the joy of your salvation. GOD bless you as you start a new extreme walk in CHRIST< closer that you've ever been before....

Thx and never mind on the profile pic figured it out but it's sideways. I'm really trying to depend on God right now and cut out some things I know are wrong. Like smoking weed and listening to awful music

Yes I agree I used to be really social but I have come across a lot of evil people (this sounds frantic but believe me it's true) who have used me for sex money resources ect.. lied about me betrayed me... I have never had good experiences with people. Even people who claim to believe.. and I think I have ptsd.. or something. Bc in have little to no interaction with the outside world now other than my daughter

You seem very isolated. How old is your daughter? It is true that there are evil people in this world. As far as the pic being sideways, I believe that if you click on it you will have the option of rotating it until it is in the proper orientation. At that point you can transfer it to this site for your profile pic.

I rotated every way and couldn't get it to work. My daughter is 9. I am 28 and single. She is a great kid. And yes I am very isolated. I used to fear never getting married and having a normal family... but now I just don't care and I really don't see much changing for awhile. I have some hope and faith but it's very small

ThX to everyone who was nice on here. I have seen judgemental activity and cruetly. I have already been attacked on posts that I was asking genuine questions on. If I stay around Christians like this I'll separate from God again bc it is truly depressing witnessing "christians" behaving this way. Clearly there is a reason God hasn't put any christians in my path yet for a reason. There aren't a lot of good ones. I contacted the moderator to delete my account. Thanks for those of you that I can tell have good hearts. Good luck and God bless

I can't tell much merely from this post. It is troublesome to me if you rarely leave your house. I would suggest you speak to a pastor. I good pastor would be willing to sit down and listen.

Sometimes we ask the Lord for one thing, but he has something else in mind for us. The Lord is the best friend of all, by the way. We can always talk to him.

As for a church home, there are no perfect churches out there, but I would suggest you check out churches in you area and choose the one you like best. My church is very dear to me.

There is no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, Shine. The Devil is the accuser of the {saint} [lose translation]

I can relate to some of the things you've posted, and believe me you are not alone. I'm sorry that you haven't had a great experience on the site since there are some modern day pharisees who will do anything to claim that they are right and everyone else not agreeing with them is wrong. I would suggest that if you end up staying then stay away from the Bible discussion for this reason. Within a week of creating the account, you can be able to access the women's forum if you are wanting to limit your posts with other women.

It was on a masturbation thread I had genuine questions about it. I don't masturbate anymore but the poster immediately assumed I am some harlott because of my confusion. He also nastily told me the reason I'm depressed is because I masturbate it felt attacking and cruel. I was atheist in my teens because of cruelty I saw by self proclaimed Christians and this is very triggering for me. Especially since I came here hoping to avoid the shenanigans of secular support groups. But honestly I have had way more respect regarding my depression on non Christie. Forums. I actually cried over this. I know I'm extra sensitive bc I'm isolated right now. But wow.

Hi Shine!

Please, don´t feel discouraged or disdained.

Friends are always friends. Just view those whom you had "banished" as part of an electronic "reward" system and, if you really felt it so, that would give you the chance to IMPROVE your bonds to God and Jesus´ so, please, don´t feel it that way: "Love your God... and neighbor as YOURSELF" (Not above neither a bit less)
