You don't understand how a parking pawl works in an automatic transmission.
A piece of solid steel literally has to break for a car to move, and unless you're on a steep slope, jack stands are pretty immoveable.
Do me a favor? Assign me as the beneficiary on your life insurance? Please? I can use the money.

BTW, Ladies, one more tip.

If you ever see him using concrete blocks for safety supports.... it's butt kicking time again. And double kicks if the Big Dummy is using them with the flat, smooth sides turned to the top and bottom.

Some of you folks need to take a deep breath and relax. I started working on cars for a living when I was 17. I am 59. That's a long time jacking up cars and being safe doing it. Relax, I'm a professional! ;)

Brother Phil, now one thing a true "Grand Master Technician Tool Repair Kit" recipient needs, especially those aspiring to meet the standard qualification to be a jack of all trades and not good at any of em', is what we in the plumbing biz call a Schwinn coupling.......

This baby patched a live 1/2" water line (45-65 p.s.i.) and held up for quite sometime.......one must have one of these and a hose clamp as well or they are just not living up to the standard. Duck tape is sooo old school.......

Willie, can't do that cause you'd kill me. My death will not be because I am not working safely on a car. Stop insulting me. ;)

It turned out a really good decision to disable private messaging. Less aggravation because I cant get across what I'm trying to get across, and I'm immensely more productive I've spent all evening digging through my projects and working on music instead of browsing forums and refreshing notifications page. But while I'm at it (the music)... the little theme below is something I made earlier for fun. Just saying hi to all and I think it fits this thread :)

yoyo :D

A rotor is called that because it rotates. It is fastened to the distributor shaft. The distributor shaft is mechanically connected to the camshaft. The camshaft opens and closes valves that let in oxygen and fuel and let out, or exhausts, burned fuel and oxygen. It burns because the distributor distributes spark to the distributor cap, thru the rotor, which in turn sends that spark to the spark plugs. It must happen in exact sequence to run properly. Any problems along those parts results in that spark occurring at the wrong time, which causes all kinds of driveability problems.

The problem here is I try to relate too much info. I am a mechanic, not a teacher.:(
Talk of mechanics and anything science-related is riveting to me. I used to ask the Lord to put it on my brother's heart to visit me because he would always talk a great length about geometry, trigonometry, mechanics, electricity, etc. And I'd sit there and be thoroughly inspired and entertained. Hahahaha!!!! :D
