Exit 9, my Brother, one mile from Rutgers University.

But no worries, I see that Pittsburgh jacket in your avatar, and I bleed Black n Gold!

I even have a Penguins tire cover protecting my spare. :)

ROFL!! Brother, I was raised in Camden, NJ and family vacations were spent at the Jersey shore. My whole life has been attitude adjustment. :p Praise God for his mercies are new every morning! \:D/
A Jersey Girl! I knew there was something special about you, my Sister! :)

Camden? Lord have mercy! I'll be at the shore real soon, but man it's expensive.

And you're right, God is awesome!

Hello everyone

What were you looking for when you joined this site?
Have you found what you were looking for or expected/hoped to find around here?
.
.
.
What's missing.. (if any)..?
We are complete opposites. I don't have quiet moments often. Give me someone to talk to and I'll talk their ear off. lol

Because of that, and seeing you've been here several years and this is the first time you talked, I'm more curious why you're here. Would you answer your own questions, please?

But, fair is fair, so I'll answer.

I came here because, (in no particular order):
1. I study the Bible from Dead Guy's perspectives (Dead Guys -- scholars who took the time to study the whole thing, and then comment on each part in a big book...but have since died), and, although my hubby is usually smart enough to get me there when I have questions about what I read, we are on different sides of insomnia too often. (We both have cyclical insomnia. We just can't seem to catch the same cycle, so, if he has it, I probably don't, and if I have it, he probably doesn't.) So, often I'm dying to understand something I read, but he's not awake to ask, so I wanted a site where I could ask. Most other sites I found accept nonbelievers, so 11 out of 10 answers aren't related to my question. It's opinion about how stupid God is. (And, yes, those numbers weren't typos. lol)

2. I'm disabled in such a way that the only way I could go to church is if someone donated a recliner. The churches we would belong to, if we could, or more the hard/uncomfortable wooden pew or stackable chairs type. I would have to get up and leave service and cry for a few hours, if I went. Hubby is worse. He has something like Tourette's Syndrome, so he'd need a separate room so he doesn't disturb service with his blurts. (Picture an elderly couple -- one making I-hurt faces and crying, while the other has an entire conversation with himself about "those guys over there" waddling out during the middle of service, and you probably have an image of us lol) So, neither one of us are conducive to actually going to church (although we can watch service through AudioSermons, since what would have been our church records them.) I miss the brothers. And, yes, I remember many times when the brothers rubbed me the wrong way, but I even miss that. This place seems like that kind of gathering.

3. I love debating the finer points. I'm reformed, (what most label "Calvinists," but I never met any that followed Calvin, so it seems like a bad label.) I used to be born-again/Pentecostal/Arminian/nondenom/what other other label someone wants to put on the other side of the Christian label. I know where we're not compatible, however, I also know what makes us incompatible doesn't stop us from being brothers. I like them getting me thinking, and I like getting them thinking, even if we never agree. I'm an apologetic hobbyist. (As compared to apologetics who really know their stuff.)

4. I've been through stuff. Some of that stuff was bound to happen. Much of it was my sheer stupidity. I have been in the belly of the fish, and try to talk others into skipping that trip. I've learned some stuff. I am a slow learner, so I had to learn the hard way, but I keep thinking if I can tell others what I did that was stupid, maybe they don't have to take 20-30 years of pain to learn the same lesson. I suspect that comes out of that fish's belly. I keep thinking the boat ride in the right direction would have been easier.

5. I've been through a lot. Sometimes it's just nice to know we're not alone.

What could be better on here? Honestly? I wish people would stop assuming everyone else is just here to cause problems. Just because someone is new/young/male/female/OSAS/tongue-talker/Christian sinner/big vocabulary/small vocabulary/American/Aussie/Brit/East Jabip/Jersey/Alaskan/urbanite/country folk/doesn't think just like me/can't articulate well/articulates way above my understanding abilities/etc., doesn't automatically kick them out of God's kingdom. It also doesn't make them a troll.

I was bored and wanted a moderated chatroom (way back then there was only the chat).

Yes, I think I did. (you'll see by my post count I use this place a lot :p )
Ah, an old school chatter. That explains the post count so much better to me. I remember those days. I still think your post count is low -- comparatively to how much I talk. lol

Other Jerseyites? Originally Woodbury (Gloucester County.) Moved to Joliet IL, Charlottesville VA, back to Joliet, up to Summit, NJ, down to Glassboro for college, then back to Woodbury, Barrington, Vineland, Audubon, and then Pitman, before moving across the river to So. Philly. And my neighbors think I'm not from around here. Guess not. I'm from Jersey. I've just lived in Philly longer now. lol

I came here for fellowship, to encourage and be encouraged.
My experience? ha! wow, amongst the beautiful people on here there's also things that i've been exposed to that i've never thought existed within christianity that I think make a simple truth really complicated. I've seen attitudes towards one another that shouldn't be, I've seen encouragement and exhortation that is really beautiful and I've seen the occasional troll.

That´s hard to be belived... Ha! Ha!

This post is lenghthy so, I see you really like to chat or talk and, when no one pays you attention (which I doubt it not being deserved) you talk to yourself.

I often do the same! :)

´cause someone told me I would find my missing rib?
To clarify a possible misconception, men and women have the same number of ribs. I've found that the belief that men have one less rib than women is quite common.

I wanted to share ideas and observations that are not available to talk about through the church structure without causing problems. Church is full of people of such different backgrounds and it takes a lot of effort to get things talked about, which are so much easier in this kind of forum. I have to say this has been a great encouragement, and is a valid way of discovering different points of view, and test the effect of various problems that seem to be propogating through the church.

Probably because they don't realise the rib can grow back.

I grew up in Freehold and one of my accounts was the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick. My youngest son is a Steeler fan, my older son is a Giant fan and I'm a lifelong Niner fan, although I'm now an Eagle fan til and if they cut Tim Tebow! Property taxes forced us to move to Pennsy. FINALLY got used to pumping my own gas.

Woodbury? I got family in Woodbury. And Gloucester. Friends in Vineland, too. And of course, I was born in Philly. Wonder if you and I ever crossed paths, Sister. :)

Brother, I'm less than one mile from the New Brunswick Hyatt Regency as I type this. Have you ever been to the Stress Factory right around the corner from the Hyatt? Great, great place for an evening out at a modest cost.

Your sons have great taste in football teams. The Giants are my second team. They're playing the Redskins on Thursday Night Football this year and I'm hoping to go to that game.

And I know what you mean about the taxes, trust me.

This is exactly why I joined this site, to learn, share, rejoice and become friends with fellow Christians!

Thanks Liza! That idea seems to come from the oral tradition of Adam´s missing rib.

That´s why I posted that pic (nothing is missing in my bones)

PS

Except I had some of them I broke while practicing Karate.

Very strange... your join date is June 27th, 2011. You've never posted anything in all those years
Well. Here's the story, I think it was June or July, 2014 and while I was searching for some Christian sites I found this site,
I tried to sign up using my email address and I got a message says that this email has already been used before there, so I clicked the link to restore/reset my forgotten password and when I could finally login to my account I discovered that I have been signed up since 2011 and obviously I haven't used it much then and so I forgot all about it for a long time till I found it again by chance.
