Daniella,

the important question to ask is

"What do you think of Christ"

JWs believe that Jesus is Michael the archangel born as a human - therefore they say HE is NOT GOd

I have had this from the mouth of Jehovah's Witnesses

Stay away from them. They are a cult and they don't allow blood transfusions.

Hi Daniella curiosity is not bad :) many people kind of stay away from them, that's because of their beliefs that are against the truth of the Word of God. But I think that if everyone take them away they won't be able to hear the Good News and that's so sad.

Anyway they use the same bible but they have a translation that many times is wrong in fundamental verses of the Bible.
I have made a lot of researches about them and I know that they are completely trusting "The Watch Tower" that is like an organization that tells them what to believe and what to do. They say that without obeying to the watch tower you can't be saved, you must be saved through that organization and they claim to be the ONLY true christians on the earth but believe that Jesus is not God but it's only a servant of God of a lower level (they say that Jesus and the archangel Micheal are the same person)..

My advice for all christians is to love them and not run away from them (except if you are not prepared about the Bible because they could wrong you)

I have studied JW because a co-worker was raised in it. It is not "christianity" at all. The sometimes use the KJV, but also have their own set of books as well. They are very persuasive, and if you are not strong in the word of God - they have the ability to confuse people. The BIBLE says God is not the author of confusion, so this tells me JW are not of God!!!

Here is a small list of Jehovah’s Witnesses Doctrine/Belief and their literature that shows their erroneous beliefs about the Bible, G-d, and Jesus. It is a false religion and anti-Christianity.
Only the Watchtower Society can interpret the Bible. Individuals cannot.
"...the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless or how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible...the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind" (Watchtower, October 1, 1997, p. 587).
The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (the JW Bible version) is the best translation of the Bible, and should be used over any other version.
"Outstanding among Bibles is the New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures...Accuracy, uniformity, clarity, and up-to-date language mark this excellent work. Bible study aids without equal make this an indispensable help to sincere searching students of God's Word" (What Has Religion Done For Mankind, 1951, p. 351.
The Trinity does not exist, and is an evil doctrine that teaches the existence of 3 gods.
"Never was there a more deceptive doctrine advanced than that of the trinity" (Reconciliation, 1928 )
"...sincere persons who want to know the true God and serve him find it a bit difficult to love and worship a complicated, freakish-looking, three-headed God" (Let God Be True, 1946)
"Satan is the originator of the trinity doctrine" (Ibid.)
Jesus Christ was Michael the Archangel before becoming a man.
"...the Son of God was known as Michael before he came to earth" (Reasoning from the Scriptures, p. 218).
After Jesus died, he was resurrected with His original identity as Michael the Archangel.
"Read carefully the following Bible account: 'War broke out in heaven: Michael [who is the resurrected Jesus Christ] and his angels battled with the dragon'" (You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth, 1982, p. 21).
Jesus is "a god", and lesser than Jehovah God.
In the JW version of the Bible, John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was a god." [emphasis added] "...that is the Word was a powerful godlike one. Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God." (Ibid., p. 40).
Salvation must be earned through works
"To get one's name written in that book of life will depend on one's works, whether they are in fulfillment of God's will and approved by his Judge and King." (Watchtower, August 15, 1972).
There are two classes of Christians: A "little flock" who are born-again children of God, and the "great crowd" or "other sheep", who will live in "Paradise" on earth after the destruction of the unbelievers. Only the "little flock" will go to heaven.
"The Bible shows that only a limited number of persons, a 'little flock,' will go to heaven...The rest of faithful humankind will live on earth as the subjects of these rulers" (Watchtower, February 15, 1984)
We will be gods when we join Christ in heaven.
"...we are begotten of a divine nature...Jehovah is thus our father...we are divine beings - hence all such are Gods...Now we appear like men, and all die naturally as men, but in the resurrection we will rise in our true character as Gods" (Watchtower, December 1881, 1919 repr.).
There is no eternal hell for the wicked. All "unbelievers" will be annihilated, and simply cease to exist.
"The fiendish concepts associated with a hell of torment slander God and originate with the chief slanderer of God (the Devil)" (Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985).
JW's are forbidden from saluting the flag or engaging in political activities
"...birthday celebrations tend to give excessive importance to an individual...Jehovah's Witnesses do not share in birthday festivities (parties, singing, gift giving, and so forth)...." (School and Jehovah's Witnesses, 1983).
"...nowhere in the Bible do we find that parents are to be worshiped, or that there should be a Father's Day and a Mother's Day kept in their honor." (Awake!, May 8, 1956).
"Christendom's chief holiday, Easter, therefore finds no support at all in the Bible. It is of pagan origin." (The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life, 1968).
Blood transfusions are strictly prohibited.
Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, and Blood, Medicine and the Law of God, 1961, claim Acts 15:29 as a prohibition against receiving blood transfusions.
Christ returned invisibly in 1914 and began setting up His Kingdom. World War I was a sign He'd arrived.
"...Bible evidence shows that in the year 1914 C.E. God's time arrived for Christ to return and begin ruling...Christ's return invisible...Christ himself gave a visible 'sign' by which we may know that he is invisibly present...'NATION WILL RISE AGAINST NATION'...Surely you have seen this part of the 'sign' being fulfilled since 1914! In that year World War I began" (You Can Live Forever In Paradise on Earth )

It's really kind of sad. They think that only 144,000 people can get into the good heaven, all the other JWs will get to be slaves for those select 144,000. They also don't believe that you should give/recieve birthday presents. There was JW a prophecy in the mid 19th century that Christ would return in the 1920s. When this didn't happen, they then said, ''oh wait, we mean 1970s" (not exact on the wording). And then it didn't happen. I don't understand how one could be a member of an organization that made such claims, and not seriously have your faith shaken. That's what's cool about Christianity in its true form. It isn't an organized religion--that is, it doesn't have a set of rituals that one must do religously in order to maintain salvation--but rather a faith. A belief. Simple as that.

Next time a JW comes to you door say you only speak to one of the 144,000 better still, ask them personally if they are one of the 144,000 or not.

I asked a JW whether they were one of the 144,000. The response was that they were not, but they weren't unhappy about that. Apparently most of the 144,000 have already lived and died.

then I suppose you can tell them unless you can be one of the 144,000 , it's really not worth your while to consider Jehovahs Witnessism..

I READ A BOOK A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT A GIRL WHO WAS RAISED IN THE JW CHURCH WROTE.SHE'S NOT ONE ANYMORE, BUT THE BELIEFS THAT SHE WROTE ABOUT BEING TAUGHT IN THAT CULT WERE REALY WEIRD. IT WAS A GOOD BOOK,AND SOMETIMES FUNNY, BUT I FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO ARE STILL STUCK IN THE WEB OF THAT CULT.

They promote the breakdown of the family unit and mask it as non celebration of holidays in order to honor God. I've not seen my aunt at a family function because easter & christmas & thanksgiving are when we have our get togethers. Since joining the "cult" she has lost her husband, her children & she cant move from a poLluted area that causes her great breathing distress because she wouldnt be alowed to attend service at her church. The read the New World translation which is a modified version of the Bible to suit their belief. They prey on lonely housewives during the day and in this also cause division in the family unit. They sent out a philipinna to my step mom just 2 days after she entered canada... they shared language so they thought they could get her. I told her of all the breakdown and my dad told them not to return. They came back. My dad finally had to contact his co worker who is jw & likely sent them and tell them that there would be serious trouble if they came back. My cousin joined their church and left her husband within 6 months. Thankfully she stopped going and they reconcilled. I dont know what they teach about husbands salvation being necessary for wifes salvation but i'm thinkin if the hubby doesn subscribe to the cult they are encouraged to better their life away.

Upside to the whole story... my uncle and aunt divorced but my uncle came to the Lord and you've never met a more passionate Holy Spirit filled man who loves and serves our Lord.

STAY AWAY FROM THE JW CULT AT ALL COSTS AS IT WILL DESTROY YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS AND THEY DO NOT BELIEVE JESUS IS GOD.

I found a neat trick once:

I knew they were in the are, and a bible was lying right by the outer door, so I grabbed it when the dorrbell rang..
I opened and before they could speak, I said
"Hi, I already believe in this one" holding up the bible.
they gave me a wry smile and left!

I prefer to lock them in my basement until they deny their beliefs and promise to stop door knocking.
