Are we truly walking in truth? This thread is to examine what is the source of our belief. What is the foundation upon which we are built? Is it really “Truth”.

Every time I begin a study in scripture I begin with a question. What is the meaning of a word or phrase? What does the scripture teach? What does Jesus have to say about the subject. What is “Truth”?
When I was young I didn't seek out the truth. I didn't seek the meaning of words, but just believed what I was told. I took for truth what others had said was truth. I believed what my bible teachers and commentaries said was truth.
I did not go directly to God for the truth. I was not God's witness, but the witness of men.
I began to see glaring contradictions in what I believed in comparison to the Scripture. I didn't understand why until I began to read the scripture and believe it as it was written. I no longer changed or twisted the passages to match what I was taught. I let the scripture speak for its self and at that point all the man made doctrine began to be exposed. I discovered how much non-truth was a part of my theology.
