George Raymond Beasley-Murray was principal of *Spurgeon's College in England and also James Buchanan Harrison Professor of New Testament at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

"I did not realise that all these universities were fundie creationist colleges. You find them EVERYWHERE LOL "

* THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION FOR MISSION AND MINISTRY"We continue today with the same generous evangelical vision that Charles Spurgeon himself had to offer training for mission and ministry that is both relevant and practical" Dr Roger Standing, Principal
well as you probably know nothing about the uk I can excuse you. Spurgeon's College is far from being a 'fundie creationist college'. it is highly academic and does not take up a view on the' creationist (in the American sense)/intelligently guided evolution' positions. It is not seen as a big deal over here.

As do I. It is too bad that more people do not take the advice of the great bible scholar Rabbi Moses Maimonides who said that the first eleven chapters of Genesis were "mythology and borrowed folklore".
in which he was of course wholly misled. but I can see that you would follow the ideas of an out of date Jewish scholar.

You believe that Jews and other humans first made an appearance on this Earth when?

I have full respect for the early chapters of Genesis. What I have little respect for is your naive interpretation of them. I am realistic.
.... the people of the day knew nothing of most of the critters on this planet.
To them, two or seven pairs of each would fit on an ark that size.

But the panda, the penguin, the polar bear, the kangaroo, the alpaca and the moose etc etc etc etc etc etc ?
Incidentally, how did these beasties get there ?
And why did the kangaroo not leave a few offspring anywhere between Ararat and Australia after the flood.
They breed like rabbits ya know !
As I believe the Bible teaches that while the flood was of vast proportions, but not one that was worldwide, I have none of the problems you suggest.
Don't forget about the Tasmanian devils.
This question kept me up last night. I'm waiting for some sensible answer from these YECs......

This is shaping up to be quite interesting.
Just thought I'd move what, to me, are the most salient bits onto the same page.
Must say I found those last two comments bordering on the anti-semitic .... a tad disappointing from those particular folk.

The "out of date Jewish scholar" (how can one be out of date if his words have value ?) and the "Jew without a clue" left us with a pile of pearls of wisdom.

" Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

You must accept the truth from whatever source it comes.

Do not consider it proof just because it is written in books, for a liar who will deceive with his tongue will not hesitate to do the same with his pen.

Teach thy tongue to say 'I do not know', and thou shalt progress.

The same is the case with those opinions of man to which he has been accustomed from his youth; he likes them, defends them, and shuns the opposite views.

It is better and more satisfactory to acquit a thousand guilty persons than to put a single innocent one to death. "

I wonder if his critics will do as well.

I guess I won't be sleeping tonight either.
Kent Hovind makes a really good and plausible explanation for this.

Perhaps you should spend your sleepless nights watching the Kent Hovind seminar....? :p

Many of your questions could then be answered!

Maybe it would help you get some sleep...? :D

Or, possibly even, put you to sleep...? ;)

You are the genius who said that we never really went to the moon and it was all a hoax, right?

And we should believe you because . . .

I see alot of talk about Dr. Kent Hovind. I have noticed that the people who say he's a fraud say it because of his stand on Creation not because he stood up to the IRS. I am set to defend the gospel. I truly believe that the world is less then 6,000 years old and that is what the Bible clearly teaches, imo. Comments?
There are two types of people in the world. Those who believe the Word of God and what it teaches, and those who who believe men and what they teach.

"I am no genius - I am quite sure of that..."

It is not that anyone should believe me, in particular; rather, I am only interested that they believe the Word of God - and, as far as 'modern reality' goes - that they believe "the facts" that may be readily seen by eyes that have been opened to the truth about the world we live in.

I am not looking for followers; rather, I am only trying to get people to see the truth about the world we live in - so that they may better prepare for what is coming upon the Earth.

Satan has accomplished massive deception on the Earth. Almost everything the average person "knows" about the "modern reality" is, in fact, not as it seems.

In the movie The Matrix, what was depicted by the 'matrix' - and what it represents - has a much closer resemblance to "every day life" in the "modern reality" than most people think - or are willing to consider. ( I am not talking about the 'physical' nature of what was depicted in the movie - that, of course, is just Hollywood... ( BTW - you know the meaning of the word 'hollywood', and what it represents - right? ) )

"Don't worry. Some time between now and Judgment Day, everyone will understand..." ;)

You know -- magical, mystical, charming, alluring, captivating ---- deception.

And I hear you are a self-proclaimed prophet of God.

Is that right?

So we should believe you and what you teach?

well the Jews appeared around 500 BC but other humans much earlier
Why are you being so evasive?

Do you think there were humans on this Earth 100,000 years ago?

50,000 years ago?

25,000 years ago?

10,000 years ago?

7,000 years ago?

Really sorry you feel that way, Valiant.

Rabbi Moses Maimonides

" pre-eminent medieval
Sephardic Jewishphilosopher, astronomer and one of the most prolific and influential Torah scholars and physicians of the Middle Ages
" acknowledged to be among the foremost rabbinical arbiters and philosophers in Jewish history, and his copious work comprises a cornerstone of Jewish scholarship.
His fourteen-volume
Mishneh Torahstill carries significant canonical authority as a codification of Talmudic law.

Unintended perhaps - but that is certainly the way it appears.

Not the slightest attempt to respond to his conclusions - merely the "Jew" comments.
What is one supposed to think ?

I'm not even sure what to make of this. "Appeared?" What does that even mean?

BTW, Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BC.

Almost certainly 10000 years ago. How much earlier I do not pretend to know.

I am not being evasive. I do not know how old mankind is. I am aware of the problems with all the theories. But I accept that the Scriptures, properly interpreted, are a true record, not a mythical record.

LOL they appeared out of Babylon and other parts when they arrived back in Palestine and established the Jewish nation. Before that they were Israel or Judah.
