To all my fellow Canadians and those Americans wishing us well!

Our national motto:

"He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth." Psalm 72:8
Have fun and don't get too hot in the sun! We have had the driest months of record for May and June in BC. And a hot day tomorrow!

It gets hot in Canada? I thought you were still under polar ice caps?

There was a long enough silence here that I have to say I was kidding. And I am a little nervous what the Canadian is going to do to me! I am not as tough as I sound.

Oh, Canada!

I spent many summers in Southern Ontario growing up. I'm a Yankee with Canadian roots :).

And yes, it can get really hot in Canada in the summer! Thankfully there are some really wonderful, pristine lakes to jump into !

Come to BC. It has been consistently been in the 30's every day except last Monday, when we got some rain for the first time in months. (That's the 90's to our Farenheit friends!)

Cold lakes and warm sun! Mountains and fun!

Going to the activities downtown, and hoping to get some cake! Enjoy the day, KIS!

Not sure that's quite accurate of the danger, as characterized by the Supreme Court's latest ruling.

Anyway, God bless Canada and Canadians!

Wonderful memories of being in your country on the First of July watching road flares blaze brightly in the lake because we weren't going to be home for the Fourth and we were too far away from civilization to know if you guys even do fireworks. I remember when your flag went Maple Leaf and your currency went "pretty girl from England." (I was young. What did I know about princesses and flag changes? lol)

A toast (I'm drinking Diet Decaf Pepsi lo) to "Canada skies," smallmouths, largemouths, beavers, an Ontario beer strike once (only reason I've ever been to Ottawa lol), reasonable prices for a broken toe, and peaceful accepting people! Happy Canada Day!

(Oh, and yes! Of course we swam down to get the flares when they finally fizzled out. We were conscious of the beauty around us.)

Right now my wife is wearing a T-shirt that says "I know that I am not perfect --- but I am Canadian --- close enough!"

A little CanAm humour for you. Yes, I spelled humour correctly!

A farm couple in Saskatchewan had their farm right up against the American border. North Dakota was just across the fence line. They had been aware for years that there was some dispute as to just where the border was. One day the mail brought an official envelope from the Canada / USA Border Commission. The husband read it aloud. It told them that after all relevant documents had been reviewed and a new survey had been completed, their property was determined to be in the USA and that their farm was now in North Dakota. They were asked to sign a document to acknowledge receipt of the notice and that they were not going to appeal the decision. The wife said “Sign it Frank, sign it! I don’t think that I can handle another Canadian winter!”

That's a lake, but not the one we used to go to. We went to Eagle Lake in Tichborne. (Population: 100 in winter and 300 in summer.) The closest "town" was Sharbot Lake. (Big enough for a laundromat AND a Chinese-Canadian restaurant.) The closest city was an hour away -- Kingston. Which part of Southern ON is this lake/your memories?

Man! You just killed off my dream. I always thought worse comes to worse and the heat gets to me, BC ought to be comfortable! Dang! The 30s? Never thought you guys hit 30, once more climbed above it. 20, sure, but not 30! (All I remember was 33 = 99, because it would get that hot when we vacationed in August.)
