I can prove that every man judges, even those that say they don't.

Have you ever said you liked something, or someone?
Have you ever said you hated something, or someone?
Do you choose who you will buddy up with, and who you will keep at a distance from?
Do you answer a post with opposition?

Please don't say you don't judge, I encourage everyone to be honest? Some where, even if just a little..we judge. It is in our spiritual DNA. What we do with that judgement is what is of concern!

Peace with all!

Guilty as charged.

Just goes to continue to prove I am a sinner in need of the wonderful and UN-endless grace of God

The judging that we are not to do is to judge someone worthy of Heaven or Hell. The scriptures speaking against judging are speaking of not condemning.

Yes you are exactly right we all do judge, but it is the manner in which we judge that makes it right or wrong.

Because there is two forms of judging mentioned in the bible and one is accepted (righteous) and the other is not (condemnation/unedifying).

This is where the line is drawn and I thank you for starting this thread because people really need to learn the truth between the two, and the difference in judging in the unedifying manner and the proper way to rebuke and reprove others.

Some use the later unedifying/condemnation judging and think they are using the righteous judging, but if not pointed out to them it could be dangerous because the bible warns in the manner you judge you also will be judged.

So insight for people if you have ever made a statement of condemnation on a person which we all have done at one time or another in life, and thanks be to God I do not do that any more, there is some repenting that needs to be done. Because if you can not forgive them but keep that judgment of condemnation on them, that will also be the fate of the one who passed that on them.

wow, a woman of God comes in here and confronts us all with a particular sin we all have, and tries to show us how self righteous we can be, And all people can do is excuse themselves.

Excuse me while I try to pick myself up off the floor because I am laughing so hard. I have to because the stench of self preservation is so strong it is pugnant, and I would have to empty the comments of a nice lunch I just ate!

Judge righteous judgments. John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

For the cause of Christ

Yes we are not to say where a person is going..because we do not know if God will unharden someone's heart, he sees someone else's heart better than any man. Plus he commands us not to say someone is going to hell, find no man unclean. Where they may not listen to scripture one day, they might another

Well sandy you are right but at the same time wrong. The issue here isn't if we judge it's what our definition of judging is.
Judge has several definitions and can mean different things.

For instance look at this-1 Cor 2:15 (KJV) But he that is spiritual judgeth all things...

Mat 7:1 (KJV) "Judge not, that ye be not judged..." Now if judging meant the same thing in both these scriptures then they would contradict themselves. Judging is used in scripture to mean different things it means to decide to discern to choose to consider and yes the kind of judging others that you speak of. So in conclusion we do judge in the sense that we discern right from wrong we choose who follow each day we decide to either follow the narrow path or the wide one, but we have no right in any way to judge others because of their flaws sins weaknesses or wrongs because that is not our place it is Christs.

He is the judge we are not we are only called to be love

So if we keep our opinions to ourselves like say "You are a sinner, because of....!" than it is wrong? What if we only gave scripture, and nothing more?

Two thumbs up.

This was extremely funny, and very insightful.
This is exactly the kind of self-refuting logic most people engage in when talking about "judging".

Of course we all have to judge things.
This whole topic boils down to doing some bible study, and understanding what the bible really means by "judging".

We do not judge them to hell or the lake of fire because of their sins, but we can use righteous judgment to tell if they are walking properly in the faith and if not then we are called to rebuke/reprove them and show them by love the proper way to walk by God's word.

Problem from here is that some people can not accept correction and get angry when their faults are pointed out to them, and in return come back with unedifying remarks and false attacks.

This is why I usually then just back away and say, "I love you and will continue to pray for you."

Correction and the judging I am talking about are not the same at all. Correction done correctly( no pun intended) can save a a backslider or a misinformed believer, judging others based on their appearance or judging them with us thinking we are better than them that is something I despise. here in the bible discussion forum many have been corrected and saw it as judging or condemning likely simply because deep down they knew they were in the wrong but pride is a tricky thing. at the same time there is certainly plenty of unchristlike judging done here.

I come here and often times attempt to help keep order and peace by reminding ppl especially in heated debates that we are to be love and to debate in a christ like manner, if my words actually reach ppl idk

Yes we do have unchristlike judging and behavior on here by some, and some do accept correction but others reject it all together because they do not want to face what they are doing is wrong.

We can know them from their little smirk comments they make to try and turn the focus off of them and find place to blame another for what they are doing.

Such comments that come from them are: grow up, you want some cheese with that wine, stop being a crybaby, stop being so easily offended, and such..........
