Women ask that to get attention. They know they are fat! A woman sure of herself and one who cares for her body doesnt need you to tell her she is looking good. She is self assured. Recent estimates suggest that the overall rates are twice that of 1970s. The USA is sitting at 42% obesity. That is downright embarrassing. The whole world views americans as fat, spoiled, and lazy. Truth!

In fact, among the christian community in the USA anyways, you see fat blubbery obese people everywhere! But yet.,its just one of those sins people dont dare talk about or else you are deemed a hater. We come down on everything else under the sun but not gluttony of food. Ok, thats my rant! carry on!!

It might be your larger blue font but your post seemed very judgmental and harsh. I understand the epidemic and agree Christians need to be good stewards of their bodies, as well as ALL the other gifts bestowed to us. However none of us is without sin and every sin is equal in the sight of God. Christians are never in a position to be hateful or cruel towards a brother or sister in Christs battle with a perceived sin (some medical conditions excluded) just because it can be judged outwardly. Hatred of the heart, adultery, idolatry, ect are not outwardly observed but are sinful. I have walked alongside friends who have battled a weight condition and they were neither lazy, spoiled, or blubbery.

Sowing seeds of kindness is meant to be inclusive to the entire body of Christ as we all sin.

Thankfully you're smart because I don't know what volition means.
Alrighty, I'll be your google monkey ;) Volition or will is the cognitive process by which an individual decides on and commits to a particular course of action. It is defined as purposive striving and is one of the primary human psychological functions.

When a child is violently raped for years by an uncle and the family does nothing about it, though she blossoms into a physically beautiful woman, a few kind words from her boyfriend about her body are in fact sometimes needed. Sadly I lacked that wisdom back in the day. I was being honest, silly me.

I wasnt referring to those kind of extremely very sad circumstances. But the strawman tactic does make you seem so much smarter:p

I promise it is not hate but how can you not see it as cruel? I am not very good at heated debates and avoid them typically so am not trying to ignite anything. You have sowing seeds of kindness which is fantastic in your tag line and I am just sad that you don't see the lack of application. I don't view what you said as hatred but I do view it as cruel and judgemental.

Do you not battle sin? Take whatever struggle you have and try to think how you would feel if another christian called you lazy, weak, and less than because of it.

I am just shocked but will continue to focus on my sin and overcoming my own battles.

Mr. Right?

I think what we need at this point is an entire discussion about how God's sovereignty intersects with man's free will.

That seems to be the real issue.

I have to admit, I do find it odd that people believe God leads them in a career, or leads them as they change locations, or leads them as they buy a house, or leads them as they pray for a new job, or leads them in a million other things... but they can't imagine God is capable of leading them to a spouse.

How odd.
It's not that God isn't CAPABLE of it. It's just not the ONLY way God works. He doesn't even always work that way regarding career, location, housing, etc. I know plenty of people who didn't have a sense of God "leading" them into a particular career. They simply chose something they thought they might be good at where they could make a living....or they oopsed into something as they were pursuing another thing.

Certainly, one could argue that God was "leading" these people covertly...and that might be true. I mean, He's God, after all, but then the same could be said about people and marriage. Thus, it's not really about capability, but maybe more about our perceptions of what it means to serve God. If we say to ourselves that it's all about the OVERT leading of God, we might not make ourselves submissive to Him in the ways that involve His more covert and wily leadings.

I don't think he was talking about a strawman but a woman that he did, in fact, date. So... yeah.

You should investigate circumstances more thoroughly before constantly vomiting your pious garbage.

Don't pick your nose.

Scratching the outside is ok if its absolutely necessary, but make sure they can see where your finger is.
Wow! I am impressed, you are living to the letter of the law in this thread topic!

When cornered, aka, their self righteousness is brought to light, Pharisees will always use the strawman thingy. Kind of like playing the race card. Yawn.

People gain weight for reasons other than food, first of all so lets be careful of calling someone overweight a sinner or a glutton. Second you can be skinny and sickly, skinny isn't always healthy. But a woman should be sure of herself and her beauty no matter what her size! Some men like women with curves and some like bigger women. Variety is the spice of life. Calling people fat and "blubbery" isn't going to be a whole lot of encouragement to help a person to lose weight. But whatever her size a woman is beautiful.

You dont have enough wisdom for me to garner your council. You cant even refrain from blaspheming the Lords name.

You don't even garner Jesus' council, why would you garner mine? You must be crushing on me because you sure do follow me around a lot on various threads, causing strife in the process.

Let's see if you can become my dream girl and magically become mute. All you need to do is put me on ignore, but you won't; you'll keep following me around, trying to settle a score that doesn't exist anywhere else but in your head. How sad.
