Donald Trump (the Christian) says he doesn't ask God for forgiveness.

Your house is on fire and you can choose one person to put out the fire:

1: A Christian fireman with no water.

2: A non-Christian fireman with ample amounts of water.

Who's your choice?

America is on fire; I don't care about the faith of the person who can extinguish the fire.

I simply continue to be in wonderment of how little faith people here have in God. And how easily they dispense with their "Faith" when it comes to Politics.

Did Moses have "plenty of water" when he led the Jews into the desert?

I have faith in God.....I'm not sure sometimes if it's a little or a lot but I certainly believe. There are a lot of true believers in America. We're gonna be taken care of. We are promised that. God works for the good of those who love Him.

I would just add that "loving' God is shown through our obedience to Him, and not through our setting aside our faith in Him when it comes to Politics. If we compromise our core beliefs to support a particular Candidate (and I don't care who it is), then I'm not so sure we are revealing our love for Him.

I don't think there is a candidate that you don't have to hold your nose for when you pull the lever. You just have to make the choice of who best represents what you want him/her to do. Just my personal opinion but I think God looks at more how you treat people than who you vote for. And if Jesus was running for President we'd probably nail Him to a cross anyway....just sayin.

Of the current choices, I agree, but there are folks out there who we would not have to hold our noses to vote for. Problem is, when they put themselves forth, the Christian Church does not support them.

Duncan Hunter the Father and Duncan Hunter the Son, as well as, Judge Roy Moore come to mind.

The sad thing is that it's all about name recognition, money and entertainment. If we had a truly independent media that wasn't profit driven a candidate like the ones you mentioned would have a fighting chance. Unfortunately if you ain't got the money you dont even get to have a seat on the bus.

It's more of a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" situation.

Sarah not getting traction?

n her Wisconsin debut as a Donald Trump surrogate, Sarah Palin was met with tepid applause and stone-faced silence Friday night at a Milwaukee County Republican gathering. In contrast, the 750 Republicans at American Serb Hall cheered enthusiastically for Sen. Ted Cruz, who was introduced by Gov. Scott Walker and talk radio host Vicki McKenna. The contrasting receptions illustrated why the Texas senator has surged past the real estate mogul and reality TV celebrity in the latest polls, especially in southeastern Wisconsin. Palin opened with a call for unity among the candidates in supporting former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Jerry Kramer’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame, a joke that mostly fell flat. ...

1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

I don't think people are supporting Trump because of his faith.

If I had to pick among Trump, Clinton, and Sanders, though, he'd still come closest to what I view as Christian.

Using this argument about not repenting, though, how much different is it if, say, Clinton or Sanders* might possibly ask for forgiveness on a number of issues yet still support abortion on demand and fake marriage?

*-Sanders claims to be Jewish.
I did not know "close" counted in the choice to be a servant of Christ or not......... Hmm.......maybe I been doing it wrong?
I didn't know that comparing people's views/positions and deciding which one(s) were closest to Christian automatically made the latter person(s) Christian.

There's a ton of people who claim to be "christian", who don't bring God into the picture. I'm beginning to believe it's the most overused word in the English language. However, if I were to vote (7 months too young, *snap!*) I'd keep in mind that I'm not voting for a religious leader. Sure, I'd trust someone who was ACTUALLY Christian to represent me better, but people can be good world leaders without being Christian. This won't fly, but sometimes you vote AGAINST someone, and if it comes to this, I'd rather have Trump than Hillary.
Dang, you're smart, Kid. Smarter than most of us here on this forum. I think some of us actually think being a "Christian" is a requirement for the office of POTUS.

There's a ton of people who claim to be "christian", who don't bring God into the picture. "Christian in name only". CINO for short. Another separate "Christian" group twists Scripture to suggest God is ok with abortion and same-sex marriage. Still another group would like to take all other people's earnings(notice that this excludes themselves) and redistribute it to those who aren't working.

Sure would prefer a Christian over an atheist, CINO, or Liberal.

honestly, the one who takes up the cause of the poor, the alien and the figurative 'samaritan', doesn't seek the praise of men and refuses to accept bribes is the one i think is closest to exhibiting 'christian values'

and he's Jewish by birth, not practicing. it's not a "claim" :)

Jewish former carpenter who cares for the poor, wants to drive out the bankers and freely provide healing & teaching to whosoever may come?
yes please.
don't tell me you've read the new testament, and this doesn't sound in the least bit familiar? lol

Honestly, the one who favors abortion on demand and supports fake marriage doesn't fit being Jewish.

While I applaud people who take up the cause of the poor, I see Sanders as more of a talker than a walker. Trump is the one out of all the candidates who actually employs people. Oh wait, Shrillary has the Clinton Foundation!

On the "praises of men" thing, Sanders probably has the edge over everyone. I'll grant you that.

I view the teachings on the providing for the poor as something we're more individually responsible to do, not so much collectively through countless overlapping government programs. Government programs, furthermore, are to be void of Christianity because of the mythological "separation of church and state". Nice...Christians have to leave their faith at home!

Let's enable those who are capable. Encourage responsibility and potential.

Instead of handing out fish, we should be teaching people to fish. For those who are capable and refuse to learn, they deserve to suffer.

Anyway, this thread is about Trump's "Christian" faith. I question his almost as much as I question Shrillary's and Sanders'.

I'm sorry... I find it hard to believe you know Sanders if you think he is a "talker" and not a "walker". Can you highlight points to prove all he's ever done was talk?

If you'd like me to highlight points to prove he is a talker and a walker, I'll gladly do so, but I'd encourage you to research it so that you retain the information better than if I give you a bullet point list of things he's done as a walker.

Has he ever held down a job? Had to pay his bills like a working man? Write that big check to the irs? Worry about his own retirement?

Can you offer something aside from bill sponsoring and co-sponsoring?

This has nothing to do with Trump's faith and Trump not asking for forgiveness, so I'm not likely to pursue this discussion very long in this thread.

Maybe this "Sander's accomplishments" topic deserves its own thread.

The one considered most wacko on the right is getting bashed, so why not the one who is (marginally) the most wacko on the left?

Very fair point. I've outlined many in the Nice Sanders thread, or perhaps I could make another thread.
