Amen bro, but to explain the issue isn't going to resolve the wrong mindset and approach to sin and sinners, it will have to be a revelation of the Lord ... for the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, and I'm beginning to see this type of reasoning with people as a waste of time, which I find a bit frustrating and detracts from the power aspect of the gospel :)

The important thing to remember that we all have one agenda in common and that is to speak out the truth. Or at least I hope that is the case. Its not your place to reason a different approach with anyone just because they are different than you. God uses all kinds of personalities. It kind of sounds a tad haughty for you to say the OP has the wrong mindset. I wonder how often you stand up against the ways of the world? Do you have a ministry? Its my experience that those who dont like the approach of the OP and myself are often the ones who NEVER take a stand in the real world. The OP has been attacked for almost 40 pages straight. If the people attacking are so HOLY then why are they staying in strive? Something to think about huh?

Yes those horrible people who promote holiness in the church..clearly they are not from God trying to promote sound doctrine from the epistles to the church. . It's those that call sound doctrine and holiness hateful that are the real christians... "for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine"

So do we get our "mindset" from folks in this world or from the written word of God? When the holiness demanded in the epistles becomes a wrong mindset to some...then I'm sure the mindset of those people have become corrupt.

Yes ..how dare anyone express biblical standards and promote doctrine that demands holiness in the church... it's awful what is written in the bible..just awful and no one should be allowed to express it on a Christian forum.

I was posting that for us all, to remind us all to be mindful not to walk in the flesh. It was a paraphrased version of 1st John 4:1-8. I wasn't calling anyone horrible. I was saying how we each can recognize whether or not we ourselves are walking in the flesh or in the spirit of Jesus Christ.

So when did a discussion about something as basic as keeping oneself from fornication ..become so questionable that folks need to check themselves in the way you suggest.. I don't get it..what I'm saying is just basic conversation among the believers I know...no one has to doubt whether holiness is from God.

It's just basic truths...nothing very deep...that believrs are supposed to keep the temple of God ... I don't see why what I'm saying is rubbing folks the wrong way?

You know what I think? I think each of us is right in our eyes and the only thing that is truth is what God has accomplished in our hearts so that the fruit of the Spirit of Jesus Christ in us may be seen by others:

LOVE ~ JOY ~ PEACE ~ FORBEARNACE ~ KINDNESS ~ GOODNESS ~ FAITHFULNESS ~ & SELF-CONTROL.

True, I understand and I think most people here understand what you're saying. I think we sometimes all get lost in our translation of it because we each are different people. We each have our own set of emotions and attitudes, some of them are right and some of our attitudes need working on. I think we all agree about living righteously but I think we all express it differently and need to be patient with one another. Don't you agree?

Yes and self- control is the answer to the issue of this thread...but be sure the issue of the flesh is to be discussed as well..that's why God put the issue in every book of the New Testament ... to read the fruits of the Spirit and ignore it as it relates to the discussion of the flesh..is to tell half the truth that God intended ... the point of this thread was like Paul often had to do...deal with issues of the flesh.

Well ..I have been on this forum a while and it seems the same folks get upset anytime anyone tries to discuss the issue of holiness ..many of the same people while they claim they don't defend the gay agenda ..clearly attack anyone that tries to challenge that agenda ..... so I have taken the time to do what I believe God would have me do.. If folks have gotten their feathers ruffled ? It's most likely what they needed.. because some folks on this forum are way off track on these type issues

I think you mean raises the question, begging the question refers to a very specific logical fallacy. Here beg actually means "to take for granted without basis or justification."
