I just really would like someone who is a Christian to tell me about all of those things in the bible, like why they're in there and if you think people should follow those parts of the bible.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense and I'm not trying to be disrespectful.

Sincerely Alex.

Can you give some bible examples that are sexist and/or homophobic, so we know what you mean?

Have you actually read the Bible or is this your school teacher/parents speaking?

This is a link to some sexist parts
Sexism in the Bible
You forgot one...

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
(Eph 5:25-29)

If sexism is "discrimination against" anyone because of their sex and discrimination is "the unjust treatment of" the same (among others) then we would have to say God is unjust.

Sexual relations are supposed to be between a MAN AND A WOMAN. Not 2 men or 2 women. Homosexuality is an abomination according to God. HE HATES the sin of it. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.. Or Eve and Ellen.. :/

When some one thinks the bible is sexist or homophobic I want you to know that those are prejudices they bring to the bible not take away from the bible.

God operates on holiness and purity not vile affections of the flesh.

For the cause of Christ

Well it says woman aren't allowed to speak in church so isn't that discrimination?

So, Alex, I assume you are feeling some attraction the Bible seems to be against?

Thanks for replying.
Do you think people should just pick what parts of the bible that are beloved to be good and live their lives by that then?

God has designed man and women for different roles. What are we to do, shake our fist at the Designer?
You do believe God is our Creator and He sets the rules don't you?
Or do you go with secular humanism?
