A startling thing that is difficult for most Whites to even imagine or fathom is that quite a number of Black children deliberately do poorly in school (especially on tests) on purpose.

The reason is that they want to fit in their culture, and scholastic achievement is frowned upon as "trying to be White", by not only many of their peers , but unbelievably, also by too great a percentage of Black adults.

Yes, to most Whites, this borders on truly insane thinking, but it is a very predominate thing in the public school system.
But, isn't that predicated on a false sense of self-identity?

They should stop comparing themselves to white people, and only compare themselves to themselves...

It will never happen as long as communal "Black Pride" is considered desirable over "Personal Integrity."

"Don't identify me by my skin color!!! (Unless to do so is advantageous to me.")

To most White people, the idea of "White Pride" above individualism is totally ridiculous.... and repulsive.

IMHO, it is a mentally powerful Black person who stands up on their own feet and merits, and tells other Blacks to do likewise.

We had a lovely Christian black lady that worked at our local grocery store. Over time we got to know her and she would stop us and give us a hug every time we came in the store. One day she told us that her family and friends were mad at her for working. This was around the time Obama was up for election again. We couldn't understand why anyone would be angry at a person for working. She said they told her "you don't need to go to work, stay home and live off the gov't" She said they were actually angry with her. Couldn't believe it. Thats not to say plenty of white people don't have the same mentality, but I just was shocked by her comment.

Most Black people know it is true. I used to work for a Black Developer, and I hired quite a few Black Contractors. My boss, and most of the people I hired, referred to the majority of Blacks as "Lazy N____s'. To me, that says a lot. They would know more accurately than I would.

This is not a backdoor insult towards anyone here but ...

Its going to be interesting on Judgment Day to see Jesus tell the race baiting hustlers to depart from Him because He never knew them. Such people choose hate over Love, and Jesus will grant them their heart's desire.

When the black community wakes up and see the gov't isn't going to help them get off the modern day plantations, that they need to get back to God and having fathers, mothers and family around the dinner table instead of in prison, that Planned Parenthood was founded to wipe put their race and are not their friend and that the far left is also their enemy, maybe things can change for the better.

Politicians on both side use race to get them into office. Obama was the most divisive president to date.I saw it coming and said to my husband if someone didn't stop it we were headed right back to the 50s and segregation. And so we have.Universities are now asking for segregation. After all that was fought for and the PC libs have taken us backward in time. smh A shame.

Living off the gov't is emasculating. It takes away pride in accomplishment,it takes away God given drive. So we have a bunch of lost people looking for anything to fill the need. We have men fathering dozens of children that don't know their fathers. And if they do many are not worth knowing. Education was fought for when slaves weren't allowed to read, freedom was fought for, hard work got them their freedom. Then they gave it all away, back to the gov't. Now they sit on gov't run plantations with no education,no jobs and no freedom. When they wake up and see it then it will change.

BTW, you Black people reading this thread. You actually ARE hearing a White perspective, derived from what we see all around us every day,

Not many of us ever see too many of the good, outstanding Blacks that we COULD be proud to call neighbors, though we know they must exist out there, somewhere.

You have to do the usual..... Follow the money. Racism exists because it benefits certain people with powers of cultural influence, monetarily, to perpetuate it.
Exactly right.

And WHO benefits the most from the dissolution of the family unit? And WHO caused the dissolution of the family unit?

I'll give you a hint. They start with a "D" and are usually represented on a map by the color blue!

It started long ago and Planned Parenthood has had a huge impact in the black community. They went from one plantation to another. Its a pity that they don't see it and keep D in power though they've done nothing for them.

I've seen some rude & immature white neighbors before so it goes both ways. Not to mention countless whites who look down on other races.

I think it could be if people wanted it badly enough...

And, one of my questions is -- how badly do people want it?

Is a platform of [ what should be ] - Christian love - enough?

We shall see...

:)

I think the problem, or a big part of it, lies with the internal servers of individuals

people are simply not honest with themselves so how on earth are they going to stretch themselves to actually reach into another person?

I'm probably overly introspective and I didn't read the whole thread, but I did read the op and this post of yours

what do think about that?

now I'll go back and skim over the posts :)

Most definitely. And this is but one result of serving mammon rather than God.

Everyone has the same opportunities. After high school I moved to Seattle and started an electrical apprenticeship. I went to work for a black man who was also a minority employer. i.e: the govt subsidized him to hire minorities. I worked with mostly blacks and Asians. Some were great and became my friends and some were lazy do nothings just skating by. When things got slow one winter guess who got layed off....ya....me ....the white guy. There were others who should have gotten the ax before me because they simply werent good workers nor did they appreciate their jobs. They simply got to stay because of the color of their skin and the fact that it was more beneficial for the employer to keep them over me.

hubby and I live waaaay down SOUTH, and what we have witnessed here as well as
when we lived in other parts of the country, is and always has been extreme 'racism'...

we have lived where we do now since the late 70's, a very old and clannish community,
and there has NEVER been a 'black-family' living in our immediate area...and, it wouldn't
be a very good idea for them to move here, as this place is so set in there 'old-ways'...

I never went to grade or HS with any black people, of course college is a different story...

so, is racism still in full-force?, you bet it is, and it is getting really extreme here with so
many racial incidents happening...a while back at a local beach, there was a terrible incident,
it was 'blacks-on-blacks', they were simply enraged and began attacking each other...
now everyone suffers as so many of the local stores/vendors refused to serve, out of FEAR!

down-town, is even worse, 'we NEVER' go there unless we can't get out of it.
it is truly a bizarre-terrible place...

individual-self-respect is becoming extinct, people are identifying with GROUPS, and this is what
happens when families/societies are falling apart, in ALL races in ALL countries...
