Hey B, I know a young fellow who chose his rock music over God, better to cut off your hand and enter into life then to have two hands and end up in hell. God will not allow us to worship at the alter of rock and also at the alter of God. There is the way of God and the way of Satan...no neutral ground.

i do agree that a person can choose anything over God rather it's rock music or clothes or cars, or women (Adam for Eve)..
but I'd like for you show me that rock music "directly word for word" isn't allowed by God any scripture to support your theory.
It's not what is chosen it's how it's applied, biblically God had chosen the least likely to exceed because IMO the righteous where full of themselves nor could see or hear a thing.

Decades ago, I was a member of a local CoC. One Sunday, just a few seats from us, a visitor raised his hands in worship. No noise, just raising his hands.... not even waving them or anything like that. Someone nearer to him leaned over and informed him. "We don't do that here."
As far as I know, the man never darkened our door again. I think he recognized a Spiritual graveyard when he saw one.

This reminds me of what evil does with stuff like that or of this topic here as well, I like the word "Calumniator" and that's exactly what evil does, evil will try and amplify that dislike, and get folks being disapproval or even to hatred of everything around them when there's no truth in the dislike thought of it in being not allowed in church or something can not be used by God for a positive reasoning or message, everything in God's tool box He uses for his purpose and the more we can open up our eyes and ears as to when and where this may be, the better we can be knowledgeable on things of God, I'm a firm believer of hidden gems that are all around in life.
