Whoa! There is no lactose intolerance in heaven. I never considered eating ice cream again.
It would be cruel to give one a land flowing with milk and honey and then make their tummy not accept it... :D

Like this discussion there is some truth seen in what you say. Only God knows and He is not telling the rest of us. We are to treat everyone as though they will respond to the gospel. We are bound to be disappointed that not all will be glad and receive the gospel truth. Jesus died so that whosoever will may come.

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

I cannot explain why some will not come to Christ. It makes no sense that someone would choose to remain in sin and perish for all of eternity. Yet if the Holy Spirit had not made it real to me that my sin would cause me to eternally condemned I too would have chosen to work my way to heaven being no worse than those around me with whom I was acquainted. You know the way that seems right to man but the end thereof is death.

For the cause of Christ

It doesn't help you to get we ALL chose to stay in the darkness! You weren't born born again. You became born again through God's wroughting. (I'm not a fan of KJV, but I sure like that word "wrought." Powerful word.)

So, think back. You can do this. What was your darkness that you liked so much to avoid the light? (You don't have to answer. I'm just asking you to remember it.) Did it seem worth it at the time?

Does it now?

Yeah, really. That's not on us. That's on God. I still remember my darkness. I can see the appeal, but it's kind of like bubble gum to me. I like the taste of bubble gum, but I really hate chewing it, it gets stuck in my teeth, and the taste disappears so quickly. And, over the course of years, it rots my teeth, they fall out, and I get to gum my food. So, I do remember the appeal. The advantages not to chew gum so outweigh the advantages to chew it, that I've come to think I don't like gum.

The same thing has happened in God's light. I remember why I liked the darkness. Nowadays it all seems so very stupid. Given the choice, I'd stay. God chose better.

I'm praying you will not stir up the flesh of any of us with this behavior! I'm praying HARD! :)

And that's one reason why we ignore them and don't interact with them. People just believe certain things differently and if you don't see it like "I and my group" does - then it means I can insult you and have malice towards you all I want and then slander you.

I ignore these types of posts like I do the porn ads that pop up on my PC from time to time.

Speaking of "pop up"...I wonder if I have any "pop-tarts" seeing that it is "International Bruce re-feed day!"...lol

The sky is beginning to go all chocolate on me now....

Take a look at this beautiful chocolate one with the chemically laden white frosting..

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

An extra couple feet of fence. Does all men mean all men?

For the cause of Christ

Does it?

In studying this representation of your language, & the possible excitement in your writing, I'd say "Too late":p;)

I don't think you will convince my brothers and sisters of this any more than you can convince them to rally against poor, colorblind Bruce! :) We are not without discernment. We know what fruit looks like. Even if we disagree with someone, we know fruit when we see it. :)

i never used an endearment with our kiddos when they were in trouble.
i used their first AND middle names, as prescribed in the mom handbook. ;)

i know this isn't what you're talking about here, but i do at times call some of the young people on the site "honey" or "sweetheart"...
because i'm really quite fond of them. and i suppose it's a bad mom habit?

i wonder if i should cease and desist?
Mom handbook:
Step one: Give minor hint that behavior is unacceptable. (Sweetie, go clean your room.)
Step two: Be more direct. (I'm not kidding. Go clean your room.)
Step Three: Clarify who you're talking to. (Caroline Louise McLaughlin, go clean your room now.)
Step Four: If all else fails, go nuclear.

Kid's handbook:
Never let Mom or Dad go to nuclear stage.

And, yeah, really. Words of endearment work for people who know you and you know them. But it is assumed the other, if the person doesn't know you yet. (Right, Mom? lol)

That's double election.

Your in a conundrum if really stop and think about it.
you just don't understand election.

Are you claiming that you were not born a sinner and condemned?
What do you mean by a sinner? We are all sinners, elect or non-elect.

Okay, don't get mad at me please, please - I love you sweetheart. :)
I want to say that in my opinion, you could have spoken more gently. You could have found a gentler way to speak with a sister than to say she was lying. She bristled a little at the way you said that. And she isn't trying to be intentionally deceitful. She's discussing how she sees and understands. She doesn't appear to me to be one of those who charges into a thread and starts spouting off meanly or arrogantly. Please remember that I love you sweetie! :) Remember that I love you if what I said makes you mad at me. I'm giving my opinion.
I'm not mad at you, because you know me enough that I know when you are meaning an endearing word versus sass. I also don't mind sass at times either.

As for the lying part? I'm thinking we're disagreeing here.

I have had today ice cream - 2 types...which was yummy. Some chocolates. Butter tarts. I'm eating a whole pizza now - loaded. I will have a complete rack of ribs later. And whatever else I desire at the time. Re-feed days are like winning a trip to Hawaii! Mahalo!

This is how G777 purposely twists what you say to mean something perverted.

I only used King Saul as an example to show how someone can be given a new heart & still become corrupted again.

Getting a new heart is a great thing..... but it's no guarantee that it will stay pure. We have to watch our hearts & keep ourselves in the love of God to stay pure.

G777 says Christ's righteousness can't be "tainted" in us. But the Bible says there will be a "falling away" of the saints in the last days, & here we are.

Multiple judgments are listed in Revelation concerning some of those churches..... because pure hearts got corrupted with sin.
Your example would have worked better under these two conditions:
1. If King Saul had been given a new heart.
2. If you didn't stalk Grace to scold him every single time you talk to him!

I picture heaven kind of like a mosh pit -- everyone struggling to get near God. lol

(It will be interesting to see how God really does that, since he wants us all near him.)
lol, everytime He walks by it will be a race to see who can take off their crown and throw it at His feet first! :D

yeah.. um, what makes people think King Saul was regenerated??

i'm not saying he wasn't (though i doubt it, yet only God knows).
i'm just saying scholars have debated it for ages. commentaries differ for this reason.

apostasy warnings are to be taken seriously. it's the Word of God.
but God uses the means of the warnings to keep His own. His sheep will hear His voice and follow Him.
