When you say "inspired" are you meaning as in 2 Timothy 3:16, theopneustos?
theese are all works...:)
[h=1]2 Timothy 3:16Amplified Bible (AMP)[/h] [SUP]16 [/SUP]All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage];

Good works at its best and returning to obediance i like coz i know i have disobeyed God and this gives me hope that i can be forgiven for this. But also i must turn away from it and not sin that sin no more.

Now inspired could mean here and now tense like im inspired to write that works do matter come Judgement day where all will be Judged for there Good works and Bad works..

The chocolate and salvation compared is not the point....the point is a biblical hope as compared to the workers for lottery type hope.......the first is biblical...A confident expectation of something guaranteed.....as opposed to I really hope I win after I do all I can do......the race is not for salvation.......salvation is the free entrance into the race and we run for the prize (reward) not salvation.....

Hi Peter, thanks for answers, it helps to clear confusion, knowing what someone actually believes especially in debating etc.. So I take it you don't agree with imputed righteousness either (that is Christ's righteousness accounted to us)?
(kind of busy day here so just popping in and out lol)
Jesus as the atoning sacrifice is our entry into the holy of Holies.
Our faith keeps us in the Kingdom, our walk is a growing walk of love.

We are not expected to need repentance and confession if we have
grasped the healing nature of the cross to our hearts.

So I do not see the need for imputed righteousness, rather we are righteous
because we believe and walk in His ways.

Imputed righteousness misses the point of love, how sin is washed away, how
barriers are broken, how hurts that drove us before and no longer there.

I came to cc not knowing a lot of these ideas, just Jesus loves me and has changed
me completely. What I used to think or feel as boundaries have been removed as just
emotional illusions of disappointment and hurt. Very odd when they went because I then
knew how much I had felt and thought on things that did not matter.

So I just want to experience more and share, and listen.

Another day......

a. Have you done enough good works today to keep your salvation?
b. How many good works a day are required to make the proverbial gates of heaven?
c. Have you done enough good works to gain salvation?

The answers as they pertain to biblical salvation...

a. NOT HAPPENING-->Galatians 1 and 3 Faith plus works to keep or gain is false, has no power and is double cursed

b. NONE-->The door is JESUS by faith...I am the door of the sheep, I am the way the truth and the life, He that believes on the son is having everlasting life

c. NOPE-->Men are not saved by works, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5, Romans 3-4, Galatians 2, John 3:16, 36 etc.

So I do not see the need for imputed righteousness, rather we are righteous
because we believe and walk in His ways.
So are righteous only when we walk in his ways.
If we believe, but at times do not walk in his way are we then not righteous?
Then we we get back in line we righteous?

Are we not righteous because we do believe and want to be the person he has asked us to be, even if we get it wrong?

Whoever said the following is in serious trouble......the bible is clear....we are MADE the righteousness in CHRIST by faith and has taken OUR SIN (everyone we would commit) and nailed it to his tree......NO one will make heaven or the kingdom of GOD without the righteousness of Christ being imputed and applied by faith and blood.....a man is JUSTIFIED as RIGHTEOUS by FAITH and the IMPUTATION of the RIGHTEOUSNESS of CHRIST.......

after that we have DAILY sanctification based upon our walk and obedience to the faith.....it has nothing to do with our eternal standing in Christ as RIGHTEOUS and JUSTIFIED<----SAVED, BORN AGAIN

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS CONTRARY

So I do not see the need for imputed righteousness, rather we are righteous
because we believe and walk in His ways.

correct me if I am wrong. I see you talk a lot of times about healing in us, hurts dealt with and love.

A lot of you say concerning this I do actually give credence to.

But I do have to say that I do disagree with your quote

[/QUOTE]Imputed righteousness misses the point of love, how sin is washed away, how
barriers are broken, how hurts that drove us before and no longer there[/QUOTE]

Imputed righteousness has nothing to do with missing the point of love, barriers broken, hurts an pain healed.

Imputed righteousness was given as a result of our sins being washed away and when believed and prayed

Romans 10:9-11
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

So to me God working in us to heal us from anything that hurts us, hurts others things that affect our walk with him and others has nothing to do with righteousness.

Its a loving Father who works in us to conform us to the image of Christ.

With regard to righteousness

Philippians 3:9
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

I agree it tastes like wax.

Im a director for a tour operator selling bespoke tours to USA.
Often we get reps from tourist boards from the USA who give us Hershey's.

I tried it, yuck.

I don't know if you ever watched Friends. But in one episode when Ross & Rachel were sorting out the 'break up' and the rest were locked in another room. Ross and Rachel did not know it.

Anyway Joey the man who liked his food was hungry. In fact so hungry he tried leg wax.

Thats Hershey's for you, but without the hair.

Amen I agree.

What I really don't get and it really really puzzles me.

Adam and Eve rebelled then read the rest of history in the bible up the N.T.

Jesus, God himself in the flesh comes to us.

In a nutshell says

"As a result from your rebellion/sin you are separated from the Father. The Father has given you his perfect Holy standard, to reveal his nature to you. You cannot keep it, you cannot keep his Holy standard. So as a result I have come to keep it on your behalf. Now this is gonna cost me, it's gonna cost me my life.

Now that's gonna be painful I know it is, the pain of the beating, the crown of thorns, the nails that are going to be driven into my body, I have even asked my Father if there is any other way please let it be so, but I know there is only one way, I have to go to that cross.

All you will see is me on the cross. That is painful for you, but for me there is something more painful, that goes beyond the pain of the physical.

Matthew 27:45-46
Jesus Dies on the Cross
Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

For 3 hours every sin that the world has committed is going to placed on me, every sin you will committ is going to be placed on me, the worst pain is that I am going to separate from my Father, he is going to forsake me but I will go through this for you.

From the time Adam and Eve sinned we had a plan in place. This plan ends today, when I say "it's finished and die physically.

When that happens your sins are forgiven you, now all you have to do is repent of your unbelief in me, that's why I am going back to heaven so the Holy Spirit must come to do this.

When you place your faith in me then I will be in you and you in me. I will be with you and help you. And because of that

Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—

Thats what Jesus has done for us.

Lets be honest if we think we can keep ourself saved by our own works then the above I posted is a load rubbish.

Jesus would have come or earth and said

I am God in the flesh, I will show you how to keep the law, then I will go back to Father and let you get on with it.
If you keep all the Holy standards of God then good, you will just as perfect as I am. Up to the challenge?

Bill,
Works is not an easy concept to grasp.

You cannot deny that Jesus said to do works. Mathew 5 and 25.

What you say in your very last paragraph up above IS the Law.

He doesn't show us HOW to keep the Law. He tells us what He would like us to do for Him.
Whatsoever you have done to the least of my brothers, you have done to me.

So we are TO DO. But it's WHY and HOW we do that makes the difference.
We cannot keep the standards. If we live by the Law, we will be judged by the Law.

Instead we keep the "love" of God. So we will be judged by His "love".

We love God and it's that love that makes us do what we're supposed to do. Most of the time.
And if we don't, Jesus covers for us.

We don't do things because we have to. But because we want to. And until God tells us to do them, we really cannot.

Some here might baptize members for their Church. That's a BIG work. The Holy Spirit tells us to do this type of work, so we can even hardly call it that --- but a name it must have.

Sometimes I feel like what people are saying is that once we're saved, we don't have to do anything.

I don't think this is what you mean??
