I agree billy...

Double standards,,, lets touch on this..

You know that on many accasion you have tested my sincerity out.. I KNOW THIS COZ GOD HAS TRAINED MY FINGERS FOR WARS..

meaning i have learned to accept rebuke and repent with a sincere heart..

How ever billy mate to repent to some with a sincere heart would make there doctrin become right..

So for me to repent now in this sistuation would be a horrible standard...........nevermine a double one mate..

All tho i do see your point on many things i can not see your point from you not accepting if a a believer can not repent from the heart the works is not in him...................

Yes thats right billy i have repented from the heart with all my heart that i seek peace..

My new found peace is this...

If a believer can not repent from the heart the works is not in him.... and the truth..........would you agree .........

And nope you don't fit the profile of a cult leader or recruiter.
maybe you havent no your right my apolagies maybe it was your doctrins,,, and i do apolagize for claimng as much...

THE BIGGEST LESSON IN THIS FOR ME WAS THIS SCRIPTURE..
5Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the LORD understand all things.

I have never done that. I have never tested your sincerity at all.
All I have done is explained what I believe which is different from yours. Nothing more or nothing less.

I could say you have tested my sincerity out because you disagree with my position.

i can not see your point from you not accepting if a believer can not repent from the heart the works is not in him
What have I said that leads you to this conclusion?

To repent with a sincere heart would make their doctrine right.
I was bringing out repentance in terms of forgiveness of any words/actions that have upset you and to forgive them.
If you do it's not agreeing that their doctrine right.

Unforgivness binds us up in chains, holds us prisoner.
When we forgive it's sets the prisoner free only to realise that prisoner is us.

I get the impression that you get very upset at being called a liar or perceived to be one.
The reason I mention this is because you got very upset in a previous post pages back when you felt someone was calling you a liar and you explained why, if memory serves me it went back to your school days.

Anyway know that I am not testing/mocking your sincerity. In fact I see you are very sincere as you want to like Jesus and love God.

You have your thoughts/beliefs how this works out and so do I, even though they are different.

I am not against you.

If we lived near each other I'd very happily go for a beer with you. Mind you being a tight Scotsman you're buying the beers.

As for the 10 pennies you mentioned in a previous response to me, I will deny I owe you 10 pennies;)

Love to you my brother in Christ. Your friend Bill

To me even if our works our bad, if what we build on is found to be worthless on judgement day. We will escape through the fire but spend eternity with Jesus.

When we are there maybe we can play golf, not sure there would be footy.

How do you inerpret

Luke 22:35-38
Supplies for the Road
And He said to them, “When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?”
So they said, “Nothing.”
Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For the things concerning Me have an end.”
So they said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.”
And He said to them, “It is enough.”

The whole world is forgiven, but not saved, salvation occurs when you receive the Holy Spirit. They are 2 separate transactions, the first was done without any choice from us (the cross). The 2nd is our response to the first.
What does this mean, the whole world is forgiven?
How can people be forgiven of something they think is ok?

Jesus forgives folks for speaking evil or denying Him. Are you greater than Him?

******
Mark 3:28-30: "Truly I tell you, all sins and blasphemes will be forgiven for the sons of men. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin. He said this because they [the Pharisees] were saying, 'He has an evil spirit'."
they [the Pharisees]

◄ Matthew 12:32 ►
New International Version
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

New Living Translation
Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

English Standard Version
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Berean Study Bible
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.
Oppppps. Some say the unforgivable sin is unbelief in Christ.
You said Jesus forgives unbelief?
Or do you mean unbelief is ok if at some point one has faith?
With so many theologies flying around us stickies have a hard
time keeping up, lol.

The truth is all sin ( except for the willful sinning of unbelief in Christ's sacrifice for sins ) has been taken away. Behold the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world.

The world does need to believe this truth and then they receive what has already been done in the forgiveness of sins because of the blood of Jesus.

Here are word-for-word accounts of the real gospel being preached by both Peter and Paul and they say the exact same thing.

Acts 10:43 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

Here is Paul saying the same thing. only he mentions the Law of Moses because he was talking to the religious Jews.

Acts 13:38-39 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

[SUP]39 [/SUP] and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.
Notice that is the "forgiveness of sin is proclaimed unto you"

This is the true gospel message that we are to give to people. It does conflict with the religious view.

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

[SUP]19 [/SUP] namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

[SUP]20 [/SUP] Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

[SUP]21 [/SUP] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

How can people be forgiven of something they think is ok?
All the sins that man has ever done were laid on Jesus on the cross. Up until the time Jesus was crucified the sins committed during that period are no different before God than they are today.

I think this is the case because the law of Moses more or less encompasses the divine nature of God and these laws were given before Israel entered the promised land.

So to me the sins of men are forgiven but in order to appropriate that forgivness offered they have to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made in their behalf to reconcile us back to the Father.

That only comes through Jesus and accepting the price he paid. The sacrificial lamb which is Jesus, who died once for all

Hebrews 9:28
so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Romans 6:10-11
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The many in Hebrews to me are those whom place their faith in Jesus, a genuine saving faith.

My simple thoughts from a simple man who likes simples but at times can't help himself and looks for complicated because it can't be that simple.

1 John 2:2
John 3:16

Its not about what we think is OK, its about what Jesus did on the cross. Forgiveness of sins alone is not salvation. It is only part of salvation.

You wouldn't have to pay your bills on time, if they were already paid for by someone else.

I for one have never said that to be honest I can't see that I have seen anyone else say it on this thread.

Truth is there is only one thing that will send us to hell.

A total, willfull rejection of Christs atoning sacrifice and applying it to us.

A genuine saving faith will produce fruit in accordance with repentance.
YOU never said it _Bill.
But some here have. A reason why I was so upset Yesterday.
I do respond to these people and will continue to do so.
If believing in Jesus and doing what He told me to do is sending me to hell --- what is left to say?

I'm signing out of here, but I would like to say this again...

If some new Christian were reading along, here's what he'd hear...:

"We do not have to do good works"

" They do not save us. but they are evidence of our faith, a result of our faith. So we do do good works."

It sounds like:
We do not have to do works.
But we do have to do works.

It sounds very confusing.

What I like to say is this:

Only God can save us by accepting the sacrifice of His Son who died for us.
From that moment till we die, we must be members of the Kingdom of God and do God's works here on earth. It's a cooperatve effort.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I don't see what the problem is.
WHATEVER the reason is for doing WORKS,
THEY MUST BE DONE.

Jesus demanded it.
God requires us to obey.
There's no way around that.
God has not changed.
Only the METHOD by which we can keep God's laws has changed.

That's it.
It's getting late here.
God bless you Bill.

(this was aimed more at those reading along)

Repentance is a work of God not of man.
How is repentance a work of God?

You mean GOD is turning me to go in His direction?

How are you using the word repentance anyway?

Do you mean that God is sorry for me for Him?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
