Written unto saved children of GOD...this one is for the sinless perfectionists....

Where sin abounds, GRACE did much more about.....

If we say that we have NO SIN, WE ARE DECEIVED and the truth is NOT IN US....

Those who say they never sin or have ceased from sin much be way more righteous than JOHN who wrote almost 20% of the N.T.

Now in another thread some are saying that those who don't believe in a pretrib rapture are lost, will be left behind, but may be among those who "find God" during the tribulation... and also seem to be claiming that eschatology contributes to our salvation, while referencing the foolish Galatians as apparently an example of believers who lost their salvation

Dcon, why do you think Methodist teach that works save?

If they do,that aren't part of the United Methodist Church.
John Wesley strongly preached against adding works to be saved.

The current statement of faith is as follows:

We Are Saved - The United Methodist Church

By grace through faith
Salvation cannot be earned. There's no behavior, no matter how holy or righteous, by which we can achieve salvation. Rather, it's the gift of a gracious God.

By grace we mean God's extraordinary love for us. In most of life we're accustomed to earning approval from others. This is true at school, at work, in society, even at home—to a degree. We may feel that we have to act "just so" to be liked or loved. But God's love, or grace, is given without any regard for our goodness. It's unmerited, unconditional, and unending love.

As we come to accept this love, to entrust ourselves to it, and to ground our lives in it, we discover the wholeness that God has promised. This trust, as we've seen, is called faith. God takes the initiative in grace; but only as we respond through faith is the change wrought in us.

This is the great theme of the Protestant Reformers, as well as John Wesley and the Methodists who followed: We're saved by grace alone through faith alone. We're made whole and reconciled by the love of God as we receive it and trust in it.

Not quite pal...the following teach a works based pseudo false gospel...as well as the ability to lose it...

Catholics
Methodists
ALMOST ALL pew jumping charismatics
Lutherans
Anglicans
Free will and General Baptist
J.W.
Mormons
etc......

The MAJORITY of so called Christian religions spew a works based salvation that can be lost....

Faith plus works for salvation is a lie, false, double cursed and has no power........!

NO wonder JESUS said the number would be plenteous that comes before his throne boasting of thier works and self and claim to fame of knowing HIM
The list above demonstrates what emotional conviction blinds you to.
The whole of protestant faith is rejected. With such fanaticism, how can
anyone agree. Most believers here fall into one or more of these groups.

So who is sowing division and discord? Emphasis fine, but this is saying
these believers are sending people to hell. This at very least is judgementalism,
at worst apostacy.

Now some will applaud this assault, but who assaults the people of God with such
vehemence and anger? It is not a friend desiring for reconciliation to God and repentance
of sin!!!! Where is the righteous walk, the humbling, the tears and weeping, the pleading to
God for revival and truth. This is truly what we need, a return to our first love, the Father of
us all.

This statement is still true:

"Faith plus works for salvation is a lie, false, double cursed and has no power."

I only question who does and doesnt teach it.

Faith + fruitful works = real faith.

Faith + no fruit = dead faith & cut off from the true vine.

Faith + false theology = tares = death.

Its should read that faith is an active works and current works of the gift given to you upon being born of the first fruits..

I think youll find that this is probably a woe moment to check to see if you are still sinning.. and if you are to stop from that sinning...

thus leading to less sin where by gradually you sin less... upon completion of purification..

Faith + fruitful works = real faith.
Real fruit produces fruitful works.

Faith + no fruit = dead faith & cut off from the true vine.
Faith that produces no fruit at all is not genuine faith, but an empty profession of faith/dead faith (James 2:14). No spiritual and vital connection with the vine results in dead, self-attached branch being cut off.

Faith + false theology = tares = death.
Genuine faith does not produce false theology that results in death. Wheat represents believers. Tares represent unbelievers.

Truth is Jimbo the purified will sin, the purified don't want to sin and those in Jesus will acknowledge thier sin and ask God for help.

every morning when I wake up I say "Jesus help me today to be more like you, if I get it wrong then show me"

Those that don't have no desire to be like Jesus

does the help include stopping you or forever watching you while you carry on sinning ?

God is watching over everyone who is sinning whether they are a believer or not.

The difference with a believer is that they acknowledge it and ask for help. And yes a believers sin pattern may be deep rooted but they cling on to God and say I need help.

So yes God delivers the believer who is struggling with sin.

I had a sin problem of gambling for a long long time, I cried out every day for deliverance.

It only came when I came to realise the truth of who I am in Christ, a son of God.

Now God have clicked his fingers and said your free from gambling the first time I asked him but he did not.

Now I am walking with people with a gambling problem because I truly understand why people go this way.

Its an escape from life and the reality they don't want to face.
