It would seem that you are contradicting yourselves...First you state that if anyone one leaves the faith, they were not really saved and not really part of you to begin with....but you give it a complete pass and turn it all around when the word re-dedication comes up.

2 Corinthians 2 proves the mans' flesh was NOT destroyed....
Why do you say it's me that says that? Here is John saying that.

[h=1]1 John 2:19King James Version (KJV)[/h][FONT=&quot]19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

I have no idea why you think 2 Corinthians 2 proves the man's flesh was not destroyed.
[/FONT]

[h=1]2 Corinthians 2New King James Version (NKJV)[/h][FONT=&quot]2 But I determined this within myself, that I would not come again to you in sorrow. 2 For if I make you sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad but the one who is made sorrowful by me?[/FONT]

Just have to throw this in, just to think about. The thief on the cross...Was his works, that he believed Jesus, and was sorry for what he did? Just wondering
Hi Seekingfamily,

Right.
We all could do only the works we could do.
Belief in jesus and being sorry for our sins gains us salvation.

After salvation God demands that we obey Him.
We are empowered to obey Him with the help of the Holy Spirit, but we MUST obey Him.

The thief on the cross was nailed to a cross. There was NO WORK he could do except to ask for forgiveness.

God is a just and merciful God. Those that ask this question seriouly and mockingly make fun of our God.

Games,

Here you go people. She is calling sin a game.

How do we expect her to repent when she thinks sin is a game?
My dear boy,

You're telling ME, the one who demands that YOU proclaim that works are necessary, that i think SIN IS A GAME?

The game, my dear boy, is that YOU do what you claim Others do.

You are becoming a bit silly...

I can post scripture. I don't see why.. One can just as easily look it up.. I can add to it and some who don't read wouldn't know the difference.. ..
Zi,
Do you know how to post scripture?
I added a few verses...

2 Peter 1:3-11 New International Version (NIV)

Confirming One’s Calling and Election

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John Bevere has wonderful books on the subject.. Driven by Eternity... Helps to put all scripture in right context not just filtered context based on experience
You should share some of it.

Apparently some here are brainwashed by their Church.

Belief is a car without oil and gas, It has no faith, so it tries to add all kinds of things to the tank to get it to run, It may run for a bit, but eventually, it breaks down, because until you put the real gas in the tank, the car will never run right.
Exactly, believing is not the same as having faith.

EG, we all understand different lingo.. As long as we all are sure and the HS confirms that we indeed are sons and daughters, that's all that matters..

No sir, Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2.1-11 the church should forgive him and comfort him....it would not seem his flesh was not destroyed now does it?

But I determined this for my own sake, that I would not come to you in sorrow again. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For if I cause you sorrow, who then makes me glad but the one whom I made sorrowful? [SUP]3 [/SUP]This is the very thing I wrote you, so that when I came, I would not have sorrow from those who ought to make me rejoice; having confidence in you all that my joy would be the joy of you all. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have especially for you. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow not to me, but in some degree—in order not to say too much—to all of you. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Sufficient for such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the majority, [SUP]7 [/SUP]so that on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him, otherwise such a one might be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Wherefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him. [SUP]9 [/SUP]For to this end also I wrote, so that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things. [SUP]10 [/SUP]But one whom you forgive anything, I forgive also; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ, [SUP]11 [/SUP]so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
This is a HUGE stretch to say Paul was talking about the incest guy.

[h=1]1 Corinthians 5:5King James Version (KJV)[/h][FONT=&quot]5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

"Just kiddin! Comfort and hug him, I didn't really meant what said the last time I was here!"

Forgiveness, and consequence are 2 different things. The people in the Church in South Carolina, who had their loved ones slaughtered by Dylan Roof, forgave him the next day, but he was still found guilty of murder and will be put to death.[/FONT]

A sinner is someone who sins, but breaking one of the commandments.
Sinning is not inventing a rule or issue and then breaking it. That is hyper legalism,
which is an OCD complex, possibly related to PTSD.

Thanks, this shows we are all sinners.

Since no one can keep all the commandments

Now apply this to the gospel. and you may see it.

When the Philippian jailer asked Paul "What must I do to be saved?" Notice what Paul said......it wasn't - "Do good works or you will not be saved and then your loving Father who loves you dearly will throw you into hell."

( which is the message of all works-based religions when you boil them down although the will deny it - there is no purgatory )

Acts 16:30-31 (NASB)
[SUP]30 [/SUP] and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

[SUP]31 [/SUP]
They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Be fair Grace.

You seem to be an expert at Greek except when it comes to the word BELIEVE.

How come you never explain what BELIEVE means??

Go ahead.
Do it.

What does it mean to "BELIEVE IN THE LORD"???

EG,

If you follow the little quote marks, you'll find that Ariel made the original statement.
Then you answered to it and I answered you and that's how it got mixed up.

BTW, who are you going to report me to?
If you report me, all the more should I report Dcon.
We could start acting like Kindergarteners, we're not far off anyway...

I quote scripture and I quote theology --- the study of God.

It is what it is. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but what I post is what theologians say, not what I "think".
So now it was Ariel that sad that, Not me..

Ariel did not say it either, I saw the quote. She said something totally different than what you claimed she said, I suggest you go back and read what she said.

And what does faith do?

If you have faith in somone, You do what they ask. Because you know they will not lead you astray.
ie, FAITH WORKS.

If I just believe someone may be right, or may be trustworthy, I will most likely not do a thing they say, because i do not consider them trustworthy.

I know the difference

If I have faith in God to save me completely. I have faith to do other things he asks me to, and I will do them

If I do not have faith God will save me, But I think I have to maintain my salvation by my obedience, Then I am practicing works of law.

Your still trying to perfect salvation by works of the flesh..

Works of the flesh do you even know what they are? Two people can do a good deed, One can be doing a work of the flesh, one can be doing Gods will. WHat is the difference? do you know?
UFFA!

This is NOT what the two terms mean.

Could you stop putting your own ideas into stuff and go and study a little bit.
Could you then come back and tell us what the two terms mean?

A LIKE from Stoneoffire.

I'm surprised.

EG is once again judging a person's soul.
(by telling Peter to give his life to God. I DO believe he already has and there is living proof of it).

I don't know. Am I supposed to report EG for trying to be god???

I judged his gospel. No one can judge a persons soul

you do that every time you declare OSAS is from hell You judge my soul and everyone who believes in OSAS.

So will you please stop..

Why the need to rededicate???

Sounds like Catholic confession.
Are you Catholic???
Catholic confesses a sin to get forgiveness.

People rededicate themselves in front of people to have accountability, they want to to share they have had some struggles, and wish to rededicate their lives. And they want everyone to hold them accountable..

We do this in discipleship when we have an issue, we confess it, Ask for Gods help. and accountability partner, and grow from there.

Not even close to being the same.
