I did one "work". I believed the gospel message of Christ's finished work on the cross and resurrection and that His blood obtained eternal redemption for me. Eph. 1:7 and Hebrews 9:12

John 6:28-29 (NASB)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] Therefore they said to Him, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?"

[SUP]29 [/SUP] Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."

Ephesians 1:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

And "look" it is according to the riches of His grace....

Hebrews 9:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

From grammar stand point faith is believe ......, believe is a verb

so faith is a work

From Biblical stand point James distinguish between faith and work.

James try to explain real faith Will produce good work.

who save you? Work or faith

ofcource real faith. Work is just evident of real faith.Good work is not only helping the poor, how about If we poor

love the poor not always give them a food, how If we do not have s food. We can pray for them, pray or tell them about salvation in Jesus is the most Loving thing man can do, and It is the best work man can produce.

Say we give a food to the poor, but he did not have Jesus, than he live for 190 years more.
then go to hell for milions years, is that good work?

what happen If we give him Jesus, than he Starving to death, and move to mantion for millions years. It is better work isn't It
The best work we can do is preaching the gospel to the needy
show your faith with donat all your money to the poor, I Will show my faith with preach the poor with the gospel of Jesus.

The lie of the serpent in the garden was telling Eve to try to be like God without God by what she did or didn't do which she could get by her eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

He appealed to her sense of "good". She wanted to be like God and see where she could do this without relying on God Himself.

The lie is still being spoken to us by the serpent - to rely on what we do instead of the life of Christ. Trying to "mimic" God and "be like God" without having God's life as the true source of life and living.

All works based belief systems have this trait and it is a deception from the enemy. The true gospel of the grace of God in Christ sets us free from this lie.

For God knows that in the day you eat of the fruit - you will be like God - knowing good and evil.

Genesis 3:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

The lie of the serpent in the garden was telling Eve to try to be like God without God by what she did or didn't do which she could get by her eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

lol bruce the Lie was that a taste of the fruit wouldnt bring death. God told adam the truth "if you eat of this fruit you will surely die" then satans lie was " surely you will not die" the part you claiming is a lie, was the truth eating the fruit DID make them Like God knowing good and evil.

Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. <<< thats the truth and a warning in Love to Keep them safe.

Genesis 3:4 "
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (<<< thats the Lie)5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. this part is TRUE and Heres the proof.

Genesis 3:22 "And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: ( the proof that that part was true the fruit did open thier eyes and make them as gods knowing good and evil )and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (<<< thats the punishment Loss of the right to eat from the tree of life and live forever.)

this is the ultimate answer

revelation 2:7 "
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

this is the means of overcoming

1 john 5:1-5 "
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
and this is the reason John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
our faith is connected infallibly to Obedience to the commands of God. you cant seperate the 2 faith = works and works are the evidence of faith. thats what saves through THE SON OF GOD Jesus Christ. all possible because the holy spirit comes thriugh the Son of God, namely Jesus the promised Christ.

the work of faith is righteousness, the works produced by real faith is obedience to the gospel. not only caring for the needy, but everything Jesus taught. forgiving those who sin against you, turnoing the other cheek, blessing those who curse you, repenting of sin, laying down our selfishness for the sake of others, bearing the burdens of our family in Christ, to be a light to the world. to simply accept and apply the gospel of truth tauight by Jesus Christ who gave His life to redeem the world. faith produces righteousness, actual real doing the right thing or it isnt faith.

James was saying what He clearly was saying if you look at the context there its quite the same as John saying Love without action is not Love. they actually use the same example regarding Gods true Love in us, and true Faith. the argument of faith producing works, and we dont do the work is in conflict with itself. the works are done by us, because Jesus made us new and able, because He is with and in us. we still do the work sure faith produces it in our Hearts, but we have to actually do whats produced or were simply denying Jesus and stifling the work of Gods Spirit.

to argue that faith saves, not works is a strange argument. because faith and good actions go hand in Hand you cant have faith without a willingness to do the will of God, the word of God. that kind of "faith" is just a word that will condemn in the end. when you follow real faith you go to work to Honor Jesus sacrifice, and certainly our minds arent constantly trying to explain why were not to serve God, or why repentance isnt rewuired or why doing the works commanded is somehow self salvation. its the reason Jesus came and died, to change us from sinners to obedient children. and thats what saves the faith that actually puts us to work doing the things God wills in a world that needs Gods will to be done through believers in the worst way.

Yep, above all, Jesus Said love your God with all your strength and love your fellow man like York self. In there law, hung oN all the law of prophet and Moses.

and the ultimate love is to make other go to heaven.

the only way go to heaven is faith in Jesus

forgive other help other is to make easier for other to accept Jesus.

say we tell one, Jesus and we love you brother, but we not help or forgive them, they Will think we are liar.

But, If we say we love other like we love our self, and know that other oN the way to hell, not warn them, that the most unliving thing we can do to other.

not feeling the Hungry is unloving, but not feeding the spiritual hungry is the most unloving

we say I love you brother, while we know he is walking toward hell, not warn them. Is that love?

Remember Jesus Said the most importance law is love.

so not direct them to salvation is violate the biggest law

What twaddle are you talking now? Doomed to the kingdom? What the heck Peter, please put an end to your fiddle faddle nonsense talk.
Once your walk the road we have no choice, in the kingdom no way out, God chooses, no returns,
there is nothing you can do. You are right to call it twaddle, but do you understand what choice
really is or just how to fling comments without seeing the consequences.

I suspect the lack of pause for thought and rudeness and arrogance of many is because of real
fear, and any compromise to avoid that terror is worth it.

But Jesus calls us to face our terrors, and know He has brought victory, amen. But we do have a
choice, everyday.

How many works have you all done today..........1, 3, 50 or 1000......regardless....they do not save, keep saved and or embellish salvation........

SAVED unto<--------NOT SAVED BY!
dc. why is there a need to seperate faith and works ? when on one hand you will say faith produces works, and on the other works have no part in salvation, and on yet another hand seem to say " faith without works is dead' ? doesnt that sort of sound like a body without a heart is dead? or a human with no blood in thier viens are dead? im not saying your trying to send the message " dont obey God its a trick its trying to save yourself" but really thats what it sounds like from alot of you guys.

if faith is dead without works, why the argument against works having a part in it when clearly works are a part of faith that saves James says " can that Kind of faith save you? take a look at the context there

james 2:14-24 "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. ( notice How hes saying faith without works cant save)
18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 2

1Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

do you agree with james assesment regarding the unity of faith and works? honestly I have never understood the reasoning behind making a seperation between faith, and works. faith saved us because faith produces repentance, but we must repent because of faith. faith saves us through obedience, because faith will always produce obedience to the One in whom our Faith is in. faith that has no works included, cant save anyone thats the thing, so whats the point of trying to seperate faith and works? why not encourage works and explain then that were saved by Faith? theres really no distinction faith that cant save has no works, faith that leads to us doing the right things saves. faith does save but How?....because iot produces repentance from sin, and obedience to righteousness. faith saves because it does include doing the will of God, or what people label " works"

Personally Obeying God doesnt seem like a " work" but more Like a blessing to have been given repentance and a new Heart for obedience to God replacing the sinful Heart of obedience to satan. thats what sin is ya know? when we lie, were serving satan, when we steal, kill, deceive, lust after others, covet, dishonor our parents ect those things are what serving satan is. alot of folks wouldnt see that, buit its the truth sin is the will of satan, righteousness the will of God. we work every day One way or the other if we speand our day in the will of satan, were working for Him. If we spend the day in righteousness were serving the will of God. no matter what though every person is working every action every word is a work.

to work for God who Has done immeasurable good and provision for us in Giving His Son to death and sending the spirit to us through His resurrection.......should be an honor and a Joy. its not trying to earn anything, its being grateful for the Mercy of God and Honoring the suffering given for us. im not sure ive ever Heard anyuone claim we need to earn anything. theres really no point to the argument faith or works they go together unto salvation. works cant save without faith, faith cant save without a willingness to accept and do the right things either because that faith is dead and useless.

to walk anywhere and rejoice in Gods bounty.

It's the word "required" that is the fork in your path. Hypothetically speaking, what do you call a person who is saved but has no works? Like the thief on the cross...

A child of the King.....saved the same way ALL are saved by....faith into the finished work of Christ.......

He that believes on the SON is having everlasting life.......Jesus began that work of faith and Jesus will finish that work of faith....those who deny this make Jesus into a liar.....HE will complete that which he has began.....!

Or just study the word and let the Spirit of God lead and guide you into the truth.......
thats it exactly. would you agree that we shouldnt disregard what we learn because we dont like to Hear them though? what you said Here i completely agree with studyoing the Word and not only letting the spirit guide us, but willingly follow even when its not easy because when its not easy to Hear, its because what were doing is being reproved and we Know it in our Heart thats what makes us refuse to believe the things in the Word regarding what we are commanded or " taught" to actually do. so a greedy person doesnt want to Hear about a christians responsability to share with the needy. a person who is filled with Lust doesnt want to Hear that Lust is the same as adultery, and adulterer doesnt want to Hear its a sin worthy of death. A liar doesnt want to Hear stop lying, a violent person doesnt want to Hear turn the other cheek, a thief doesnt want to Hear dont steal.....

But those things are what leads us into righteousness. the things we dont wanna hear , but are clearly there those things change us. to accept first that its true its Gods Word, and then commit to change actually because when we dont want to Hear what the Word of God says.......were in the wrong always, never Gods Word. so to follow His way is always the right way.

The bible is clear on the subject......I assume you can read right?

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe<----Do tell...what in this verse leads to salvation?

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.<----Do tell...what in this verse leads to salvation?

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.<---Do tell...what in this verse leads to everlasting life?

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:<--Do tell...what in this verse equals life?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life<--Do tell....what in this verse leads to not perishing and everlasting life?

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.<--Do tell...what in this verse leads to life, no condemnation and passed from death unto life?

I can go all day posting such truths.....there is not one verse which states that WORKS will save anyone.....as a matter of fact quite the contrary....to ADD WORKS to FAITH in order to gain, keep or finish off salvation IS FALSE, double cursed and a gospel that NO ONE preached including PAUL.........what is the common denominator found in the above verses and ALL like them.....it is BELIEVE or FAITH.........

THE just shall live by FAITH <-----it does not say WORKS.......ONE cannot produce ONE work or ONE microgram of FRUIT if they are NOT SAVED ALREADY.......IT IS FAITH and FAITH ALONE that SAVES A MAN..........any work, fruit, produce, by product that a man may produce is the result of the FAITH and SALVATION by FAITH that one already possesses......

IT pleased GOD by the FOOLISHNESS of PREACHING to SAVE them that BELIEVE....

TO ALL who attempt to EARN, FACILLITATE, EMBELLISH and or FINISH off salvation by WORKS....it is FOOLISH in their minds that ONE MUST SIMPLY BELIEVE to be saved......

Yes, that's right D/rose. so why would anyone teach one must observe Sabbath?
Hi stonesoffire,

God’s Word teaches it. It’s origin is a celebration of creation and that we worship the God of creation and our God has commanded us to keep it as a Holy day, and breaking God’s Law is sin and the wages of sin is death and it is the sign of God’s people (Gen 2:1-3; Ex 20:8-11; 1John 3:4; Rom 6:23; Eze 20:12; Rev 14:12)

God bless

I believe that when we realize that we are sinners, and that we need a Savior, whenever that moment occurs, and however that realization comes, when we believe on Him and His sacrifice on the cross, and we truly understand it was for forgiveness of sin, for OUR sin personally as well as sins of the whole world.

In that moment we look to Him for the answer, for relief, for help and we ask the Holy Spirit into our lives, to give us life, that which He gives freely as a response to that belief (belief belies the real meaning behind that moment).
Then we have [FONT=&quot]changed our mind [/FONT]about life, about ourselves, and most importantly [FONT=&quot]changed our mind[/FONT] about Him and who He is. That to me is repentance. We then are created new. We are different, we are saved, born again by the Spirit of God. Praise Him, I thank Him everyday for that.
How wonderful! Great post Limey410v2. Now you are on the right path this is what I believe as well. Let’s think about what you have said above.
So what is sin?
How do you know that you are a sinner?

God bless you

lol so James must have been wrong then ? its strange that on one hand your saying study Gods Word and let the spirit guide you. but all that repent and do whats right stuff that doesnt apply because of the above verses, that apparently nullify the many more. I could go all day as well quoting the obedience stuff, but its foolishness to think One verse nullifies the other when they go together. to say i have faith, and to Have and walk in faith are 2 different things entirely.

I appologize buddy, i forgot im dealing with the gog doctrine and its omissions
