You aren't any different than anyone of us. We all fall short of His Glory. We can look into our nature till the cows come home and be humble but I don't think this is the correct interpretation of humility.

It's when we take the Word for truth over our own thoughts. Renewing our mind with His Word. So in being raised with Him in His resurrection, what kind of person does God now say you are. That's my point.
The above is for Sunnedbygrace.

1. She's different from many here because she understands the Word of God and not her interpretation of it.

2. Could you please explain what humility means in Mathew 5:3?
Humility and poor in spirit is the same thing, BTW.

the question no one has answered or asked, what are these works?
The works that are the result of empowerment by Holy Spirit. Is what I believe them to be. However, James talks about feeding the poor and visiting widows and orphans. Good deeds. Here now I am quoting Jesus is a roundabout way.

Cast out devils, heal the sick, raise the dead, etc.

I find it rather unfortunate that you do not believe the Word of God.

If I can list 5,000 verses about Works, and you STILL do not believe they are necessary, it means you DO NOT BELIEVE the Word which God has given to us.

So, I won't waste my time on this since I've written plenty for those reading along,

I'll only say this:

WORKS DO NOT SAVE.

BUT

WORKS KEEP US SAVED.

You entered the Kingdom?
You want to remain in the Kingdom?
You better do the works of the Kingdom.

Not me saying this.
JESUS said it. But you don't believe Him.
amen sister best responce ive seen to date.. but one small niggle God would continue to save the mentally ill so why wouldnt he continue to save the none mentally ill...the answer is captivity has a hold of people on emotional scars..

A primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), that is, a relation of rest (intermediate between G1519 and G1537); "in", at, (up-) on, by, etc.: - about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-) by (+ all means), for (. . . sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-) in (-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-) on, [open-] ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, [speedi-] ly, X that, X there (-in, -on), through (-out), (un-) to(-ward), under, when, where (-with), while, with (-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) prep.
Total KJV occurrences: 2720

So if you do a topical study on the words "in Him" and see it's fixed in each scripture...you may change your mind.
All that work to cover "in Him", & never even touched "abide".

You missed the context of one single sentence.

Walk trough the valley
Please provide a verse where JESUS says that we are positionally saved.

We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Seated is a place of rest from our labour. Dosent mean we have entered this place as God calls those things witch be not as tho they are. We are caĺed to enter into rest is evident.
Neither am i taking sides in debate, many are called but few are chosen, Revelations tells us why in one word," they are called chosen and: Faithful.

I think I've already answered this in my last post here.
This has NEVER been answered.

By you or anyone else.

It can't be answered in Jesus' word because Jesus never said any such words.

If He did, someone will have to show it.

Well, that's he start of what BELIEVE means.

I've explained it many times.

The reason I asked YOU to explain it is because it's really important to understand this.
It would change your whole way of thinking.

Since you know so much about GREEK when it suits you,
How come no one on your side of the isle could EVER give a true explanation of the word BELIEVE?

Know why?

It doesn't agree with your point of view.

LOOK IT UP.
Do a study on it.

What does it mean to BELIEVE in Jesus?

Get that --- and you have the complete understanding of why you're wrong to say that faith plus works is not biblical.

IT IS VERY BIBLICAL.
Faith plus works is biblical.

But works are as a result of faith in Jesus and walking like he has asked us to.
Believers are created to do good works.

Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

But those works do not save us.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

You often say "works keep us saved"
Sorry but I have to disagree given the above verses.

Yes if we truly believe in Jesus we will want to be like him and walk like him.
Not be saved but because we are saved by him and through him and what he did on the cross for us.

John the Baptist spoke it, and witnessed by Pauls words. Jesus may have referenced it too with the 10 virgins but not yet convinced this is the Bride yet.

~Joh 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Joh 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

You are a funny one Fran, lying about people and falsely accusing them and crying about the very things you do. I am not the only one to notice this about you. It would do you good if you could practice what you preach, but you seem incapable despite all the airs you like to put on.
Airs?

I like to put on Chanel no. 5...

You like??

abiding is a fixed position for its the keeping power of Holy Spirits working in our lives. How do you miss this Stephen?

I'm sorry Stone.

I truly don't know what the above means.

I've been asking for words of JESUS whereby HE explains that works are not necessary but only belief in Him is necessary.

I've said that if the person is going to use John 6:29 as support, then they'll have to really explain what the word BELIEVE means in the Greek.

So far, no posting of verses.

B ECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY.

Why should people listen to you? You say quite often how you have no need of what others want to tell you but you seem to expect and desire everyone to fall down at your feet in rapt attention while you spew your hatred and Roman Catholic garbage, as if you had some knowledge others did not. Your double standard should make you ashamed of yourself but you seem blind to it as to many other things.
Ouch! Those aren't cat claws..... they're dragon talons!

I seem to remember not long ago you did the same thing to me.

I didn't take it, either.:)

I have little time to keep caught up let alone go back to and reread. As I said...it's a free forum and anyone can answer.

But, if I insulted you in some way? It wasn't meant to be. I truly care about you and how you believe because I know how great it is to be freed from law..for it's the law of sin and death. Something we aren't under now..

Now, it's the law of the Spirit of life...in fixed position...Christ Jesus.
No. You said I was insulting you and scolded me for it.
When in fact, I WAS NOT.
So, it's forgotten...

Yes, it is the works of the Spirit of God in us, and not the works of the flesh. We can so easily see the works of the flesh when people like Fran falsely accuse others and pretend they should be listened to while they constantly reject any need of hearing others. Since Fran has said she will mention people's names at will, she should not complain that others do the same :)

If I did, I do not recollect it. Perhaps when I am not so pressed by time, I will go back and look. I don't usually scold anybody but at times I get tired too.

and now I have to go...husband just got back from Tampa. and was waiting for him.

Well, Jesus was speaking to Israel and Israel was under law. We are not the nation of Israel, but a body of believers.

And the revelation was given to Paul. So I guess that is why we quote Paul when we discuss the body of Christ.

You sound angry.

And since most of our bibles are translations from greek, don't you think it wise to study what the greek actually means since our English may not be so accurate?

Or would you prefer Hebrew to English? I can switch you know.
I prefer English to English.
I think the translators did a good job and we don't need to help them along. There's only one important word that is translated without its full meaning because of our language and that's BELIEVE.

And I do like Jesus' words MORE than anyone else's.
After all, HE IS GOD.
