abiding is a fixed position for its the keeping power of Holy Spirits working in our lives. How do you miss this Stephen?
John 15
1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.8My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

This scripture tells plainly that we live because we're attached to Jesus, the true vine.

Being "thrown away" plainly means to be separated from Christ. No Christ, no life.

Being thrown in the fire means thrown into Hell. Again, it's plain.

Bearing fruit is mandatory. Those bearing fruit are empowered to bear more. This shows the christian is expected to grow & mature spiritually, bearing more fruit as they grow.

This scripture is much more important than these others quoted above. Here's why:

1. Jesus taught it. That makes it absolute truth.
2. Jesus teaches Abiding in its completeness. No pieces, or one-verse wonders.
3. It teaches the truth about fruit bearing. It states fruitfulness is mandatory & what happens when you do & what happens if you don't.
4. It leaves no room for twisting its symbolism nor its message. That's why false teachers won't use it.
5. It states plainly that obedience is the fruit & proves we're abiding in Him.
6. It proves we glorify God by bearing much fruit, & in doing this, prove to the world we're Christ's disciples.
7. It locks in the meaning to properly interpret other teachings about abiding in Christ, so we know what the other authors are really saying, keeping others from twisting them to their advantage.

It's a wonderful scripture, showing us that God makes us able to bear fruit, & multiplies our ability to do so when we live by faith & walk in loving obedience to Him.

I didn't miss it..... you did.

Here we go again.
Banishing me to hell.

YOU DO LOVE TO TALK ABOUT HELL AND SEND PEOPLE THERE.
Why is that? I just don't understand it. Really.

It must be because you LOVE people so much that you want to tell them the truth.
So, while LOVING THEM, you send them to hell.
That's some method of loving. I've never come across it before.
What do you do when you hate someone??

PAUL
PAUL
PAUL

Paul had to go study what Jesus said for 3 years and come up with some kind of explanation as to why He got crucified.
Great.

BUT JESUS DIDN'T HAVE TO STUDY WHAT JESUS SAID.

So, you see, when I have ANY DOUBT, I go to the SOURCE.

The SOURCE, is JESUS.

And HE was INSPIRED.

And while we're here, I'd like to remind you that I am not inspired, BUT NEITHER ARE YOU.
Paul was taught by direct revelation.....you really should study more Fran.....it might help your dogma develop into sound doctrine.....

A primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), that is, a relation of rest (intermediate between G1519 and G1537); "in", at, (up-) on, by, etc.: - about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-) by (+ all means), for (. . . sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-) in (-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-) on, [open-] ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, [speedi-] ly, X that, X there (-in, -on), through (-out), (un-) to(-ward), under, when, where (-with), while, with (-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) prep.
Total KJV occurrences: 2720

So if you do a topical study on the words "in Him" and see it's fixed in each scripture...you may change your mind.

Thanks.....I thought of numerous scriptures that teach positional salvation in Christ.....you would think the grand poobah of knowledge would already know them.......guess not when you push nothing but works for salvation that can be lost which is false!

I believe that when we become mature in Christ, He calls us His friends. Isn't that an awesome thought.

John 15

12“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15No longer do I call you servants,a for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

Ummm.

WHO is wearing rose-colored glasses?????

Is it not YOU who claims WORKING FOR GOD is adding to Faith and thus not a good thing to do?

So if you believe in DOING NOTHING to please God,
I'd say that YOU are wearing the rose-colored glasses,

are spouting false doctrine
and are a false teacher, which the bible speaks of.

This idea of yours, which is called hyper-grace BTW, WAS NOT AROUND TILL RECENTLY.

So, I guess it took some really great theologians to come up with an idea THAT NEVER EXISTED BEFORE NOW.

Ignatius of Antioch
A disciple of John the Apostle
What might HE have to say?:

CHAP. X.--EXHORTATIONS TO PRAYER, HUMILITY, ETC.

And pray ye without ceasing in behalf of other men.

For there is in them hope of repentance that they may attain to God.

See,[2] then, that they be instructed by your works, if in no other way. Be ye meek in response to their wrath, humble in opposition to their boasting: to their blasphemies return[4] your prayers; in contrast to their error, be ye stedfast[5] in the faith; and for their cruelty, manifest your gentleness.

While we take care not to imitate their conduct, let us be found their brethren in all true kindness; and let us seek to be followers of the Lord (who ever more unjustly treated, more destitute, more condemned?), that so no plant of the devil may be found in you, but ye may remain in all holiness and sobriety in Jesus Christ, both with respect to the flesh and spirit.

You know....all you do is prove how deceptive and dishonest you really are with posts like this.....serious! Especially the bolded.....!

You lie about them. Fran, you should not do that.
I think hating someone leads to not wanting to forgive someone, which leads to not wanting forgiveness to be available to all, which leads to leading astray with the works based salvation false teaching.

I kind of thought you were boasting in the Lord and being thankful to him and that's why I posted the rejoicing scriptures.

The second was for you to use in defense if someone accused you of pride.

.it's not prideful or wrong to boast as long as you give all glory and thanks to God and His power working in your life.

The Bible actually tells us to meditate upon good things. Sharing ones testimony and how God has worked in your life is a good thing and shouldn't be discouraged.

However folks like stomping on others sand castles. So don't be surprised if someone comes by to tell you that you shouldn't boast. Just know that the Bible says it's okay and a good thing to boast and rejoice in Christ.
hmmm castle stompers lol i wonder if i even have a castle ? i know that i have a kingdom waiting for me which i can inherit but does that make it my castle ?

What are the commandments of the New Covenant?
Are you speaking of the Two?

Did Jesus come to abolish the commandments?
He fulfilled them and replaced them with a better COMMANDMENT of agape love,

Most don't understand what that truly means though.

You were just boo hooing the other day about how certain things should not be done. Your hypocrisy seems to have no bounds.
AMEN.....also oblivious to the fact that JESUS was born, lived and died under the LAW which ratified the NEW Covenant....of the which PAUL covers extensively.....I am so glad that JESUS set us free from this legalistic mindset that permeates the workers for and salvation losers......

I never thought we had a kingdom.,,there is only one King, Jesus but he tells us he has mansions for us.,,which are like castles.

John 14 v 2

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

It is sad that people like Fran and Stephen think they can lie about people, and somehow this is okay in their minds. Then they want others to apologize for the mistakes they have made when they refuse to take responsibility for their own. The level of hypocrisy is code red. I wonder how they can not see it, or if they see it but just refuse to acknowledge it, as if they are playing some harmless game.

Jesus sat with them, ate with them, but didn't run with them.

He would fellowship with them for the opportunities to minister.

It's one thing to fellowship with the unsaved, & quite another to fellowship with religious heretics who are apostates.
Like the Pharisees who pushed a working for, law keeping dogma for salvation which could be lost?
