Luke 18:[SUP]7 [/SUP]And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?[SUP]8 [/SUP]I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

2 Thessalonians 2:1
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,[SUP]2 [/SUP]That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, ....

Some believers will fall away from the faith because of having a supernatural phenomenon apart from salvation, thinking it is the Holy Spirit when it is not, because you cannot receive the Holy Spirit again apart from your salvation.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;[SUP]2 [/SUP]Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

The reproof towards that lie is here as there is no other calling nor is there another receiving of the Holy Spirit "again".

2 Thessalonians 2:[SUP]13 [/SUP]But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP]15 [/SUP]Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

So there is no other calling; there is no more receiving the Holy Spirit again for would be departing from the tradition taught.

Some will fall away from the faith by resorting to their own power in trying to follow Jesus Christ as His disciple.

2 Timothy 3:1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.[SUP]2 [/SUP]For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,[SUP] 3 [/SUP]Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,[SUP] 4 [/SUP]Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;[SUP]5 [/SUP]Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The reproof towards the zealous altar call to make commitments or promises to follow Christ is below.

Luke 9:[SUP]23 [/SUP]And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

The just can only follow Him by faith in Jesus Christ as their Good Shepherd to help them to follow Him, personally. He can confirm which Bible version for you to rely on for the meat of His words which will be the King James Version, but He will confirm that to you. Trust Him as your Good Shepherd to do this for you. He will.

1 John 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.[SUP] 19 [/SUP]They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.[SUP]21 [/SUP]I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth......[SUP]24 [/SUP]Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.[SUP] 25 [/SUP]And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.[SUP] 26 [/SUP]These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.[SUP] 27 [/SUP]But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.[SUP]28 [/SUP]And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

When the last days has been prophesied that there may be only a few that have faith, you cannot afford to follow a church out of habit as you have been, depending on them to let you know if you had gone astray or not or if you are still walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son, especially when the church you are following may not be abiding in Him.

Matthew 7:13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.[SUP]15 [/SUP]Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Luke 13:[SUP]24 [/SUP]Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

With 5 out of 7 churches in Revelation in the 2nd & 3rd chapters, being warned to repent or else, can any believer continue to take the path of complacency and follow the crowd which is the church without proving all things by Him?

1 Thessalonians 5:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]Abstain from all appearance of evil.[SUP] 23 [/SUP]And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.[SUP]25 [/SUP]Brethren, pray for us.

God wants a personal reconciled relationship with you through Jesus Christ; not through a church. That is the whole point. Jesus Christ is more than just your Saviour, but your Good Shepherd as well Who will help you to follow Him.

James 1:[SUP]5 [/SUP]If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.[SUP]6 [/SUP]But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.[SUP]7 [/SUP]For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.[SUP]8 [/SUP]A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

2 Timothy 3:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;[SUP] 15 [/SUP]And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:[SUP] 17 [/SUP]That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Hebrews 4:1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.[SUP]3 [/SUP]For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.....[SUP]9 [/SUP]There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.[SUP]10 [/SUP]For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.[SUP]11 [/SUP]Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP]15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Philippians 1:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.[SUP]9 [/SUP]And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;[SUP]10 [/SUP]That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Galatians 5:1Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage......[SUP]5 [/SUP]For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

1 John 3:[SUP]3 [/SUP]And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure....[SUP]8 [/SUP]He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The church cannot do this for you, but trusting Jesus Christ as your personal Good Shepherd, He can do this. With such precious promises in His words, this is why resting in Him in following Him is the way to live as His.

Romans 8:
[SUP]31 [/SUP]What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?[SUP]32 [/SUP]He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Please go before that throne of grace and bring this burden of getting ready to be found abiding in Him and lay that at Jesus Christ's feet, trusting Him as your Good Shepherd to help you get ready to meet the Bridegroom before He comes.

I like the bridegroom statement, reminds me of the wedding in Cana were Jesus sister got married and since her husband was the groom reason why the master of the banquet spoke to him saying what he did because Jesus sister's husband was part of the family married into thus reason why the master of the banquet didn't know where the wine came from only that the family had supplied it.

Jesus was the brother in law of the bridegroom and the bridegroom was the brother in law of Jesus.
thus the symbolic gesture of the bridegroom from wedding in Cana as well as being actually His sister getting married.

John 2
…9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not know where it was from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!” 11Jesus performed this first sign at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.…

Granted, the body of believers are the actual church of God, BUT... we are addressing denomenational teachings and even the supposedly independent church that claims it goes by the scripture of the KJV. Don't take their word for it; prove all things by Him and trust in Him as your Good Shepherd that He will help you to discern good & evil by the KJV.

So recognizing the body of believers as the actual church does not negate the need to prove all things by Him of what has been taught in that church you attend since you said you follow the Lord Jesus Christ, right?

Don't take anything at face value as taught by the church and prove all things by Him at that throne of grace by the KJV.

That is what it means to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and not a church or a pastor or a favorite TV ministry. Prove all things by Him and thereby setting the examples for all others to follow to prove all things by Him in their church as well.

Pointing ALL believers to Jesus Christ in trusting Him as their Good Shepherd is how He makes His disciples of other believers.

Most people give up trying and so this is why I say.. it is not about us trying to do the best we can but trusting the Lord Jesus Christ for all things, including His help for following Him as His disciples and proving all things by Him and His words as kept in the KJV for discernment for what is being taught.

Truly, by the grace of God and by our faith in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd, He is the only way we can follow Him as they will see Christ in us and His workmanship in our lives to place their hope in Him for all things as well and not just for believing in Him as our Saviour that we are saved simply for believing in Him.

I thank my God that my hope is in Jesus Christ as my Good Shepherd for following Him as I rest in Him as my Saviour that I am saved simply for believing in Him.

What I was looking at was that some of us join a church and consider that our church come thick or thin. The bishop might send us a good pastor - lucky us. He might send us a bad pastor - we struggle through.

On the other hand, other people go to a church as long as they like the pastor. If they get a new pastor and don't like him, off they go to another church.

I have NEVER followed a church and never will!
I follow Jesus Christ!

I attend churches that honestly proclaim "follow us as we follow Christ!"
The honesty comes in when they admit that they may not always get it right.
Any church that claims perfection in this area or claims that one is nonetheless obliged to follow in the face of error I will walk straight out!

As has already been stated believers are the church!
And we do need to gather together in corporate worship.

I would worship in a church that honestly admits its imperfections, yet is committed to Jesus Christ!

Yes indeed we can join a church but we are never to blindly follow after the ways of others, you put your faith in God not in people, and anyways your heart must be in what you do for God,mere repetition in going to any church is of no use when you have no desire to learn or serve God!
True it gives you the opportunity to serve God but you must have your heart in whatever you do for God.

I was double minded once until Jesus led me to quit being committed to Jesus Christ and entrust Him as my Good Shepherd in helping me to abide & follow Him... that way I am admitting to my imperfection and my inability in the flesh to follow Him as I rely on Him all the time with my hopes solely on Him for helping me to follow Him by the grace of God thereby getting to know Him & the power of His resurrection.....

That is the only way we can follow Jesus Christ and that is by faith in Him & all His promises to us. That pleases God, and even we need His help to trust Him all the way in following Him. I know I do.

Sometime, the hardest thing to do for God is to wait for Him.. even if it means not going to church that will not deal with iniquity within... as the case may be for the majority, if not all the churches in your local or even county wide area. Signs of the times should lead His disciples in living that fellowship with Him all day while waiting for the Bridegroom to come.

Isaiah 5:1Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: [SUP]2 [/SUP]And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. [SUP]4 [/SUP]What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? [SUP]5 [/SUP]And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down: [SUP]6 [/SUP]And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth! [SUP]9 [/SUP]In mine ears said the Lord of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant. [SUP]10 [/SUP]Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! [SUP]12 [/SUP]And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Tongue speakers that speak of "the second blessing" by which they had received their tongue which never comes with interpretation have not regarded the work of the Lord that they sought to receive the Holy Spirit again apart from salvation. Their false teaching and mentality has spread to all denomenations and were influenced when the holy laughter movement went across the denomenational barriers in 1994. Although it did not happen in every church, it did happen in every denomenation.... and the false teachings are there in every church, waiting for a supernatural phenomenon to occur from which the false teaching may be implemented by a church not grounded in the word to reprove and expose that phenomenon as not of Him.

Philippians 2:5-13 along with John 5:22-23 testifies that we can only worship God the Father in spirit and in truth by honoring & glorifying only the Son; not the Holy Spirit. By broadening the way in the worship place, especially when focused on the Holy Spirit in worship, even when addressing the Spirit by a hymn, then when seducing spirits come and fall on believers, they will think that was the Holy Spirit they were receiving "again" after a sign of tongues or other sensational signs in the flesh, because they were addressing the Holy Spirit in worship.

Yet Paul warned of this in 2 Thessalonians 2nd chapter by reminding believers of that tradition taught in verses 13-15 when we had received the sanctification of the Spirit & the belief of the truth at the calling of the gospel so that as the apostle John warned, not to believe every spirit but test them, especially when Jesus Christ is already in the believers so that they can know that the "second blessing" even when it brings a supernatural tongue, is not of Him at all as they speak as the world speaks in supernatural tongue which is vain & profane babbling........and not a language of men for God to be speaking unto people by His real gift of tongues.

Just as every church was enticed to join the Promise Keepers' movement of their county in 1994 nationwide as if making promises & keeping it by the religious flesh is how we can follow Christ and make ourselves good. And although many churches have dropped the program, but not the religious bondage practice of making commitments and promises to God to be good or to do good, even for following Him.

So all believers should prove all things by Him in being His disciple rather than a disciple of a church.

And some churches have made compromises for social values against what the Bible reproves as sin even in the N.T. Growing up in a materialistic and hyping the pride of life culture, even children can be raised on the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life where sexual confusion can come at an early age. There can be no delaying in raising our children on the scripture of what is evil and what is not and trusting Jesus in them to be their Good Shepherd to walk them through this valley of death now....to eschew evil & do good.

Any work of iniquity that denies Him, ( Titus 1:15-16 ) they will be denied by Him ( 2 Timothy 2:12 ), and even if they stop believing in Him, He is faithful for He still abides ( 2 Timothy 2:13 ), which is why the call to depart from iniquity ( 2 Timothy 2:18-21 ) is to go before that throne of grace and ask Jesus Christ to be our Good Shepherd in helping us to discern and depart from all iniquity before the Bridegroom comes. ( Hebrews 4:12-16 & 2 Timothy 4:18 )

Children should decide this day Whom they will serve, the Lord Jesus Christ or something else... and even I needed the Lord's help to serve only Him. Children should be taught to trust Him for that too. He will do it.

Thanks for sharing & confirming the word that we can only live this reconciled relationship with God THROUGH Jesus Christ as it is written that the just shall live by faith.

1 Timothy 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;[SUP]2 [/SUP]Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

So all this salvation stuff you talk about and receiving the Holy Spirit, it has nothing to do with baptism?

If you are referring to water baptism, no, salvation and the promise of receiving the Holy Spirit is not tied to that requirement, but believing in Jesus Christ is.

Acts 10:[SUP]42 [/SUP]And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.[SUP] 43 [/SUP]To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.[SUP]44 [/SUP]While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.[SUP]45 [/SUP]And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.[SUP]46 [/SUP]For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,[SUP] 47 [/SUP]Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?[SUP]48 [/SUP]And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

As evident in scripture, water baptism is not the requirement for receiving salvation with the promise of the Holy Ghost at our salvation, but believing in Jesus Christ is.

The verse misapplied most in scripture as referring to water baptism when it is really referring to the baptism with the Holy Ghost at our salvation is shown below.

Mark 16:[SUP]16 [/SUP]He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Do note that it is by never believing in Him is how one is damned. Not being water baptized is not how one is damned.

That is why Paul said this;

1 Corinthians 1:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;[SUP] 15 [/SUP]Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.[SUP]16 [/SUP]And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.[SUP]17 [/SUP]For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.[SUP] 18 [/SUP]For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God......[SUP]21 [/SUP]For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

You can get water baptized if you want as a public testimony in church if you had never been water baptized, but do know you are saved already by simply believing in Him. Water baptism has nothing to do with it.
