The words of Christ point to >>>>>>>> the work of Christ.

It is all in and nothing is left out. :)

you are not even addressing what I post

you are talking at me which is why I don't respond

for instance, laughing when I point out how you did in fact use the word grace when you said you did not, and rather than say you were wrong, which you were, you backpeddle and then say it reminds you of high school

so I answer you according to your response

there are a couple of verses in Proverbs that allow for that

it must really bother you if you just cannot let it go

do I have to use a flyswatter? (jking...sort of)

No what I am saying it's wrong to say "I do good to keep him happy"
Yes God is happy when we do good and he rejoices in it.
But to say "I do good to keep him happy?

Thanks Mr Superior
Maybe she just worded it wrong...

man what happened to grace and asking her if that is what she meant?

Why did he call you Mr. Interior?

yes, he loves us no matter what, but as any parent, he is grieved when we go our own way. I know I was when my kids went against me, but I loved them all the same. Yes, we work because we love and trust him, not to make him happy, although, I doubt he would be upset if we wanted to please him by doing a good deed,
I don't doubt that.

Ok maybe I have a blind spot here.

To me my kids don't have to keep working to please me, I am already pleaed with them because they are my kids.

It seems I have a raw nerve that has been touched.

Time for me to sit back before I go somewhere where I don't want to go to.

No need to apologize. The song touches me every time I hear it.

Certain posters like her and others call backpedaling grace...truth seekers call it lying....

and no one should leave out the words of Christ

yes?

it just goes on and is nothing more than a popularity contest
Oh, touchè? So, you're attempting to pick an argument when one isn't there to pick? Your comment has nothing to do with my statement, and frankly you seem a bitter person.

I don't see defending and expositing the Gospel of Christ as a popularity contest. Perhaps that is how you see it, but that isn't how I see it.

I agree.

Matthew 24 is Jesus talking about the destruction of Jerusalem that was coming in 70 AD.

Context is king in all scripture - plus we must read it through the revealed finished work of Christ or we end up mixing up the Old Covenant with the New Covenant and we water them both down.

John 14:25-26 “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

2 Corinthians 4:2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Milk in tea? Tarts?

Y'all think you were English or Canadian or something. Lol.

Lol I grew up in the South...our sweet tea is served cold with 2:3 ratio of sugar to water and the hot Apple pie comes with vanilla ice cream, hand churned.

We can visit with y'all tomorrow and have milk tea and tarts...lol.
