They where given the right to the inheritance because they believed in his name. John says we were giiven that right because

1. we received him
2. We believed in his name (trusted him)

No work was involved.

We received the inheritance because we heard the word of truth the gospel of our salvation, and entrusted our life to it (eph 1: 13- 14)

Of course, Since we were saved, Since we were adopted. Since we were made (not make ourselves) children of God, We also obeyed him, because we loved him.

I would recommend we try not to take the cart before the horse. Thats dangerous.

edit how do we overcome?

1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

It is our faith, it is our new birth that causes us to overcome, not our work. or our will.

Boasting of the flesh...
what you quoted was preacher stating a "sentiment" that he would have liked to rep someone,it's not boasting it's called being "informative" because boasting is an act of pride, stating simply what one would have liked to do is sharing a sentiment as opposed to boasting.

Here is an excellent article addressing "Just what are the commandments of Jesus?"

Here is the link if anyone wants to look at the questions or to see the next post as he mentioned at the end of the article.

It's against the rules to post hypergrace sites, but then again, you knew that.

Hypergrace is a known false doctrine, & after several warnings gone unheeded by G777, he teaches it anyway.

Titus 3:10
New International Version
Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.

New Living Translation
If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.

English Standard Version
As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him,

New American Standard Bible
Reject a factious man after a first and second warning,

King James Bible
A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

According to the Bible, G777 has made himself a heretic.

I didn't make him that.

Thank you ....this is a life lived in the victory of Christ Jesus. When one is really persuaded (our mind is renewed to this truth) of this effortlessness...then one really understands what it means to abide.

Love.... Love... This Line. We exalt Him even as we abide.

When our minds are renewed to the truth that is in Christ - we obey from our hearts effortlessly. It's a fruit of being in Christ.

Legalism - in the biblical sense of the word - is any attitude or belief that human merit can produce, prove, or preserve for one-self an acceptable standing before God.

Whenever our assurance of salvation rests upon our "performance" rather then upon the "promises" of God that are Yes and Amen in Christ - we are in big trouble - we have fallen from grace to rely on our own self-effort so grace does not flow to us.

Obedience in the New Covenant:

In loving God and others as Jesus says is the greatest commandment in the law in relation to obedience.

Obedience to me is a fruit of the life of Christ in our inner man. It is not the root. It's the love of God and the life of Christ manifesting Himself in and through us to a hurt and dying world and to our fellow brethren.

It is not necessarily something "we do to be" but stems from something we "already are now" in Him and so we "do love" as we grow in our awareness of His love for us.

We obey our Lord and Father because we know Him and trust in His character and obedience is not a set of rules that we follow, but a natural flow of the life of God in us built on a love-trust relationship. When you know the love of God for us we will obey Him naturally and effortlessly.

When our minds are renewed to the truth that is in Christ - we obey from our hearts effortlessly. It's a fruit of being in Christ.

I maintain that obedience is a fruit of the life of Christ in our inner man that is created in Christ. When we teach the grace of God this enables us to bear His fruit in and through us to reflect the true kingdom of the love and grace of God to a hurt and dying world.

Teach and preach who believers are in Christ because we are in union in one spirit with the Lord Jesus and they will "awake to righteousness" that is in them because they are a new creation in Him and sin not and walk in the good works that God has prepared for them.

Jesus Is the Vine—Followers Are Branches
John 15 (with context)

1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.8My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Are these words plain enough?

Is Jesus' teachings good enough?

When a person reject Jesus' words, they reject Jesus.

I just wish people would respond by actually showing what part of what a person said you disagree wiht, then say why and then show how you think the bible disagrees.

Instead of just using the strawman, Your not listening to God. Jesus said I am right you are wrong etc etc.

then we could get some actual conversation going on.. I also wish people would see and ask why they do this.. because I believe it is a programed response taught to us by many of our churches.
No EG
You're not speaking reality.
When I came to this thread I was open and innocent and happy to share the word of God.
I answered everyone's questions hoping to share.

Within one day I was being attacked by at least four or five persons.
They were assuming I was not saved because of my answers.
I was told I was going to hell. I was called names.

As you can see, I'm a rather strong person and instead of running away I stood my ground...sure of my beliefs.

I did not find the spirit of God in this thread, but was being told that I did not have the spirit of God.

Loveme1 is smart not to answer your questions.
You are Not to be trusted.

Explaining is not nit picking, it is clarifying something. You say people should keep their opinions to themselves but then give yours again, and then wonder why you stand accused of double speak.

I agree. The true gospel is all about Christ and what He has already done. This is why Jesus said "Repent and believe in the gospel." Mark 1:15 - change the way you are thinking to rely on the good news of Christ's work.

We are saved by the life of the Lord Jesus Christ which is in us in our new creation. We are now learning how to walk by the spirit - which is our spirit in union with Christ by the Holy Spirit ( whom Jesus said would be in us forever - John 14:16 ).

Romans 5:10-11 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

[SUP]11 [/SUP] And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Living by the flesh does not stop making us a new creation in Christ. It makes us deceived by sin and distorts our view of the Lord's love and grace towards God Himself, others and ourselves.

I have found the very same thing happening in my life. The more I see Christ and what He has done - and the more I agree with His work - the more He becomes manifested in my life and the things of the flesh just have fallen off like dead leaves on a branch.

Transformation is really the emerging new man that is in Christ being manifested in our bodies while we are here on this earth.

This transformation of what already is in us in Christ in our new creation ( It is not called a "new evolution" ) can be seen by man as our minds get renewed to the truth of Christ's work for us. Rom. 12:2

We are simply "being" who we already are when we "put on Christ".

The new man in Christ is like the invisible man - when he put clothes on, people could then see him. We put on Christ and people see the new man in Christ manifested and God gets glorified.

This all happens by grace through faith in what Christ has done and we participate in it with Him for it is God who is at work in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. He will be faithful to us. Phil. 2:13

As we learn to walk by the spirit instead of the flesh - then we experience God's kind of life in our lives while on this earth and in this body of flesh.
