Let's take this story another step further.

Sally happily walks out of church 1 hour later and gets hit by a bus and dies, will she be with Jesus?

Oh I say yes SO LONG as she didn't have one single sinful thought between church and her unfortunate meeting with the bus
yes but how could she have been baptized in that amount of time?

and why didn't the angels intervene?

did Sally like stained glass?

yeah

I went with a guy for awhile that drove a Corvette...sadly I was not impressed and he was not impressed that I was not impressed

lasted about a month

had the opportunity to buy a mustang recently...haha...too much too late don't care anymore
I was going to buy a corvette once. On my test drive I found out that it attracted police cars more than it attracted girls. I settled on a Chevy pick up. Best girl magnet I ever bought.

we passed some road construction back in october where one lane was shut down. i happened to be the last car to go through in a series before they flipped the signs from "slow" to "stop" to let alternating traffic pass, and windows down, we clearly heard the man with the sign radioing ahead to switch traffic after the "
.. last car is a black, erm blue.. um, purple.. uh.. " ;)

1. Clearly she didn't have time to be baptized like the bloke on the cross who acknowledged Jesus.

2. Why don't they intervene in a lot of things?

3. Sally's face was immortalised in stained glass at the church where she was run down by the bus.

Well, its not our place to pass judgement as to whether or not she is saved.
Are you saying there is no way for a person to know if they are Saved or not? What are the requirements for a person to be Saved? If then a person complies with those requirements how can it not be known or judged that they are Saved or not?

What? A Preacher who Saves a person can't judge that person to be Saved? i do not understand what you are saying here. Is Sally Saved or not? If she meets all the requirements that Scriptures teach for a person to be Saved, how are you saying we can't tell if they are or not? Sally is either Saved or she is not saved. If she meets the Requirements that Scriptures teaches us to Get Saved, how is she not Saved.

Sure, I would love to say yes but the truth of the matter is, once she accepts Christ into her life, that walk is between her and Christ and no one else
Doesn't Scriptures plainly teach if you accept Christ YOUR SAVED? Sounds to me like you are trying to skirt around that issue. Sally is either Saved or not Saved if she accepts Christ into her life. Are you saying she is NOT Saved if she accepts Jesus into her life?

But it seems like she's starting out on the right path :)
Yes, Getting SAVED is starting out on the right path.

Like Renewed Hope says, that is between her and God. "Getting saved" isn't just some ritual. We can't see her heart, and it isn't our place to tell anyone that they are saved.
Are you trying to tell me, that if you bring a person to the Lord Jesus Christ, you can't tell that person they are Saved, if they ask "Am I now Saved"? Seriously?

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, NOBODY told you were Saved? Really? But now you are saying we should not tell another person they are Saved when they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

What when Sally asked the Preacher if she was Saved and he told her Yes, did he lie? Should he have said "NO"? Really?

Considering she doesn't exist I'd say it's rather a moot point.
Do you not know what a hypothetical Question is? If i ask a hypothetical question how do you think that i don't know it is hypothetical? The question is, why can't you answer the question, but instead divert from answering the question to attacking me. (whether you feet you did or did not, i feel that you did)

Aside from that do you really need an answer?
Brother, it is poll. Please think about what you are asking.

,know you not that whom ever humbly and sincerely accepts Jesus as Lord and saviour and asks for their soul to be saved accepts the gift of salvation and the holy spirit
Yes i know this, but you seem to fail to understand this poll, it is not about me, nor what i believe, nor anything about me, but for some reason you have made it about me. Can't you just answer the poll or move on? If you don't like the poll or the hypothetical question asked, then why say anything at all? or is causing strife something that you like to do?

,if you are still pondering "how to be saved" then I'm not worried about "Sally" I'm worried about "You".
Again, this shows what manner of spirit that is in you. Who told you that i do not know how to be Saved? Who whispered that to you, that this is something that i personally am asking? You have altogether NOT replied about the poll but have attacked me personally. Why is that? Who are you listening to? If i am asking a hypothetical question concerning Sally, if she is Saved or not Saved, what have i done to you that you attack me as you have done with your reply. Have i done something to offend you? What, by me asking if Sally is Saved or not, that upsets you? really?

It’s not our business to determine if she is not saved or not . What should be done in this hypothetical situation is to come along side and help her to study and get a deeper understanding of of God thru scripture . Aid her in her new faith . That along with being a friend teacher and a family member to this new born child in Christ .
Blessings

So your saying the Preacher was WRONG for telling Sally she was Saved? Is that what you are saying? That the preacher should not have judged her as being Saved? Really?

What should be Done AFTER she is saved is not what this Thread is about. This thread and poll is about "Is Sally Saved?" Not what she should do once she is Saved.

At the alter call, she walks up to the preacher, and says i believe that Jesus is the Son of God, i believe that He rose from the dead. i confess my sins to Jesus Christ and i repent of them. She then asks the Preacher "Am I a Christian now? Am I saved? Is my name written in the Book of Life?" He then tells her she is a Christian and she is Born again and is Saved and that her name is written in the Book of Life.
The very next day she is water baptised.

Tell me, is Sally SAVED?

Some will say Sally needs nothing else, so yes, she's saved.

i agree. According to Scriptures SALLY IS SAVED, and her name is written in the Book of Life, the moment she accepts Jesus into her Life.

IMO, we don't yet have enough info. She could still be any one of the grounds that Jesus spoke of: wayside, thorns, rocky, or good ground.
We don't have enough information to determine if she will remain SAVED, that is TRUE. All those in the parable above accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord, they all Got Saved, but did not remain that way. Those who received Jesus with Joy, but did not grow in the Lord were cast aside, not taking root. Anyone can Get Saved, Not everyone will remain Saved. They could be blotted out of the Book of Life, by the very deeds they choose to live in.

What? Do you (talking to all) claim to be Saved NOW, Are you saying you can't possibly deny Jesus tomorrow? Seriously?

Only the fruit or lack thereof will tell.
Agreed. Many Are Called (Saved) but only a few will be chosen (Remain Saved, remain in the Book of Life)

You are twisting what I said. I just said when she accepted Christ in her life her relationship becomes between her and God and no one else. It's not our place to pass judgement as to whether or not she is saved. God and God alone knows her heart and it's intentions. Having a relationship with Christ is an ongoing thing because it is having to be continually pruned and fertilized. A pastor told me once that he wished he could punch people in the face after they ask Christ to come in to their life because it is not an easy walk. There are hurdles like losing of one's friendships, family, and maybe even a job.

Oh and preachers can't save people, that's a thing that only God can do :)

Not that you'll see or accept your error above, this is for others who have the will to be taught and shown error.

"Called" does not mean "(Saved)" as you make it to mean, forcing your error onto his Word. Nor does "chosen" mean "(Remain Saved, remain in the Book of Life)" as you erroneously make it out to be.

Again, not that you'll learn, or accept the shame of failing to heed 2 Timothy 2:15, it is meant for others to see and avoid your error and distorting the Word of God.

I think many people worry too much whether or not someone else is saved. Life is too short for that. Instead of being concerned if someone is saved or not, I would concentrate on your own walk. I don't stop and wonder if someone is saved, instead I pray that God becomes a very real part of their life and continues to be and be an example of Gods love in every aspect of my life. Thats all we can be....
