This is written to Hebrew Christians. Telling them not to return to trusting in law. There's no more sacrifices in the law to take away sin.

In Timothy, it's exhortation to stay in faith of what they heard.
Go back and reread it with the understandung it is not your job to minimize the destruction one suffers for DEPARTING.

It clearly,clearly showcases shipwrecked believers.
Read it for what it is. It does not need any help.

But yes the ENTIRE NT is Gods word for us,and for us to stay in the faith, not just timothy.

" If I could lose my salvation , I would of lost it a million times over , on a daily basis ( he is old ) and he continued , if it was down to me to keep myself , I would be lost , but thanks be to God it is He who keeps us , He will finish what He started , we are His workmanship , we are sealed , we are His hidden in Christ , no one can pluck us from His hand "...:)...xox...

I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,
to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
Isaiah 42:6-7

Do you desire to be pure, holy, clean and free? Listen to Jesus and follow.

Walking in the light is about openness and clarity in everything.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.
John 12:35

If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:7

We have no fear of those in darkness, because Christ the Lord dwells within, Amen.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord
Rom 8:38-39

Nothing and no one can separate us from God, so do not listen to those who claim
we have to weed out tares, no rather we must press on deeper into Christ and His ways.

Wow,to think he was as vile and rebelliius as the produgal and almost never had victory and he is patting himself on the back.
You have to think his entire congregation is not only carnal, but encouraged to be such

Pretty sure you missed the boat...no where in that post do I see one who is proud of sin, but rather one who rightfully understands grace and the words eternal and everlasting as applied unto salvation and life biblically by faith in Christ!

2Thes2 says there is a coming deception approaching and a massive falling away.

Now,what was all that about believers not having the ability to fall away?

His message is " ha ha,i can sin all i want and i do. My salvation is secure"

As if that is something to TEACH?

I would say you would have lost your salvation already if you were shrinking down into doubt and Christ was not there to help you and encourage you to stay the course.

The important thing, Rosemary, is whether once saved always saved is true or not does not change the truth that you have to have works of righteousness in an ever changing life or else you are not born again and will not be saved when Jesus comes back. That's why I say it's a meaningless doctrine. Once saved always saved does not make it so we don't have to have works to be saved when Jesus comes back.

Once saved always saved is a distraction to what really matters, which is justification by "faith working through love"-Galatians 5:6. A 'faith' that does not work through love is a dead faith that can not justify. Growing up into godly love and doing right is how we know that we have the faith that justifies and will save us when Jesus comes back.

So,his nect task is to assure us his sins are something minor?
He left it 100% open ended, and anyones option to fill in the blank.

Or are minor sins different than some sexual deviancy or ripping off senior citizens?

When will people truly understanding the power of God's grace and mercy through His free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ? Oh I know there are many of us who do. Yet, works, works, works still is blatantly used.

There is no person on God's green earth who can buy their salvation, keep their salvation, live without sin 24/7, through works.

Praise God from who all blessings flow. May He continue to grant us mercy and compassion and cover us with His Love.

it seems to be what most who push a false doctrine do accuse in order to demonize....

it wouldnt matter how much you explain living by faith
or walking in the spirit

those who feel like their own righteousness will justify themself wont accept anything less than "you are saved by your works" (which is a lie)

the point of this thread

is once you are born again

you are His child and saved

all glory to salvation goes to Jesus

_______

the walk AS a new creature who cannot lose his/her salvation is a completely different topic

david
many blind sheep
and wolves alike come here
trying to take away or add to the sacrifice of Jesus

maybe thats why youre getting pushback

you have made assumptions that are false (maybe from my choice of words or attitude)

as have i about you based on your attitude and choice of words

the walk of a christian

____

pray constantly
examine yourself to see if you are the spirit

deny the flesh

encourage to DO good works (not to save yourself but out of love for Him who loved you first)

and to build our brothers and sisters up

help them if they stumble

and the fruits of walking in the spirit

im sure we all know

love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance

we should also say charity

but none of these things save us
or keep us saved

this is God providing the transformation

no one should look at Gods grace or the GIFT of salvation to those who believe on the name of Jesus as a "now i can do all these sins i love" card

if you love these sins so much you dont even care what Jesus had to go through and it doesnt hurt your new heart that youre choosing flesh

id say examine yourself

because that sounds like the old heart to me

As far as i can tell, the "saved by works" is na.
( no specific examples)

It apparently is some abstract strawman

if you add anything YOU do outside of what the gospel CLEARLY teaches

to provide
maintain
or keep salvation

it is based on works

many specific examples were given
