Adam and eve were under the New Covenant promise Messiah was given in Genesis 3.

They looked forward to their Redeemer just as Job looked forward to Him.

All saints are saved the same way: Faith in Jesus who is able to redeem them.
Good point about Job.

Hi decon., This brings up another topic that also needs to be considered. .........Covenants....... Job was not in a covenant nor did Job HAVE an Advocate. Job was not "sealed" He looked forward to the Advocate promised but like Adam., was still under the judgment that needed a blood sacrifice.

Job got mercy but the grace (unmerited unearned favor of God) that we have today was not yet paid for by Jesus. People looked "forward to" it. This was already stated in one of the posts above about how the earth was handed over to the devil by the first man Adam...who was made in God's image and yet who failed to obey the 1 thing God told them not to do. Adam didn't have the Holy Spirit either.

I don't have all the answers about covenants but do know that we are in the new covenant so those who have Jesus have life. Those who do not have Jesus have not life but the wrath of God abides on them because they do not believe. Because they do not have the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins. God is able to save to the uttermost but there IS a condition and His name is Jesus., the answer for the sin problem. All people who do not have Jesus are under God's judicial and righteous wrath for sin. Thus the need for covenants until the time Jesus came to be the perfect Lamb of God.

We are not in the old covenant of law., we do not have to follow the law to be saved because the law is no longer our school master. We who are in the new covenant...post cross., We walk in the Spirit., No longer under the law of sin and death....we have been born again., made new creations....old things have passed away behold all things have become new.... we have the Holy Spirit living in us 24/7 who has promised never to leave us.

Job had no such sacrifice yet... Job was not born again... Job looked forward to the coming Advocate.. who is Jesus. The Holy Spirit came on these men and also left these men. They had to pray that God take not His Holy Spirit from them when they sinned. These are all considerations we have to look into to see where we are today in this new covenant of grace. God cannot overlook sin. He had to send the perfect sacrifice (His Son) to save His people from their sins. And until that time., He showed a lot of mercy and also grace but nothing like today under this new and living way that Jesus brought in... grace and truth.

As with the old Testament saints., the Holy Spirit did not stay with them 24/7. They had to meet the requirements of the covenants they were in that God made for them at the time they were here on earth. Before Christ., they died and were in Abraham's bosom awaiting Jesus to come get them out so they could go before God the Father...no more veil separating them from a Holy Righteous God.

Ask yourself "why all these covenants?" I'd suggest we all take an honest view of what IS really being said here... and also what is NOT being said. Presumption is not a good path for any of us Christians to be on. I don't have all the answers but I do know what I have in this new covenant that Jesus has brought in.

Job knew of his redeemer and believed fully that he would be raised from the dead and SEE him with his own eyes....so I am not for sure what you are going on about.

Agreeing with you here, just like Joan's OP. If you don't like people making something out of scripture that is clearly not there, why not complain about that one?
I went through the OP already Lynn. Nothing more do I have to say.

I see ...sorry don't believe it, scripture is clear Adam was the first man.

Only interested for research purposes...I do think this is part of the gap theory though.

Yes, I am UG. The age of Lucifers rebellion.

Its fairly new to me too in comparison with how long I've been born from above.

I will give this is like David and Absalom. What you and WoFers teach is, very much, what Absalom taught -- anarchy against the king!

Do you think God was caught unaware when Joab found Absalom in that branch? As upset as David was, I believe that was God's justice.
Am not word of faith Lynn. I put my faith in the promises of God. Which we are told to do. His Word is true.

Yes, of course it's part of the gap truth. There was a first creation. Peter spoke the words....in ages past. Have you not seen it?

What would that mean?

Oh, shoot. This is Joanie's thread and I messed it up.

I only say this to you because it's you UG. :)

signing off now.

Not going to debate you Ariel. Am only here for support for Joanie. I mentioned something. It's of no concern to me if one agrees or not.

This is is my personal view now. Debates and arguments are of no value. The Lord will lead us to truth and there is right timing.
Not here to argue either

If we are talking about misconceptions about God.,,gap theory and the beliefs not found in the Bible (such as Job existing before Adam was created by God) would be among what should be discussed.

However what did JM call them?

Sacred cows?...we wouldn't want to slaughter any of those,eh?

This whole thread and all this non-sense being discussed by some on here is sad and alarming to me.

What is wrong with the Bible, Y'all? Why not take what it says as the truth and quit trying to add things to it? I mean surely there is enough to learn from it that we don't have to go digging up other books and stuff to try to discredit it? I mean really, I am afraid for some of you!

Looks like a few of you really need to try and study the word of God (Bible) and take God's word on it as the truth. If he says someone is a righteous man and without blame...then guess what... he is and that's truth...same goes for the rest of this non-sense being threw around...

This is going to be a long post, but I feel the need to post it because I think some need to take a much closer look at this chapter and study it before they continue on any further.

2 Timothy 3
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The Lord will lead us to truth and there is right timing.
How can the Lord lead some to truth when they RESIST the truth? That's the real issue here. And the timing to accept the truth is when it is first presented. TODAY if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Its just kind of spooky. I've never known anyone who was in a cult but its just...creepy that someone cant see that the bible is being disregarded and rewritten. It seems so clear and plain, that honest discussion could get them to see direct contradictions to what is plainly stated in scripture. But they choose the contradictions and disregard the word.

Job records the conversation between God and Satan. But that conversation is just...thrown out the window for a different belief. Its just...making up your own story. Its kind of befuddled me. I've never run across it being done in such a blatant fashion. I can't conceive of how to continue a conversation or even believe that further conversation could make anyone see what has been done to them...

Stepping away from the thread I guess. And now we have Adam not being the first man but now Job was apparently the first man?

We have many discussions in which we believe differently about some things and interpretations but this is something different. This is just rewriting the bible and doing so very plainly and blatantly. Its too creepy. I'm out of here.

We all have our "sacred cows" if you don't believe that., you just don't know it yet. Our minds as believers are supposed to be being renewed by the Holy Spirit AS WE PARTICIPATE. There is a TON OF STUFF that needs to get dumped from our brains that we hold to as the truth from our former way of life. Our old manner of living.

But the Holy Spirit is never going to force anyone to SEE the truth unless we are willing participants. Even if it means we walk around in confusion and even can die for lack of knowledge or better said for lack of believing the truth. Our old manner of living is how we survived before we got born again but now we have been given a new spiritual man (God's seed) who has to be watered by the washing of the Word.

The Holy Spirit is always wanting and willing to help us "reckon" ourselves to be dead to sin and alive to God. Reckon means believe it to be a fact even when our brain; "says it can't be... it makes no sense...." We are called into a new and living way by the Holy Spirit to walk in the Spirit (our new man). Rom.8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

There a so many sacred cows I've yet to get rid of in my old thinking and way of living. One that was demolished was the need to talk about election and the way I used to interpret God's sovereignty. Now I know God so loved everyone in the world and sent Jesus to die for all... but not all will accept Jesus as the only Way to God. But the offer is out there to all. God so loved the whole world.

That grace and truth are what Jesus brought us., and Moses brought in the law. John 1:16-18 We are in a new covenant and the old is "obsolete" Many live according to the old covenant and see God through the eyes of men and not IN Christ.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift.
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]For while the Law was given through Moses, grace ([SUP][a][/SUP]unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.
[SUP]
18 [/SUP]No man has ever seen God at any time; the only [SUP][b][/SUP]unique Son, or [SUP][c][/SUP]the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

The Bible is all for our learning Romans 15:4 Some here consider men like Charles Ryrie and Andrew Wommack and others I've shared on these forums as heretics. In my opinion those who say such things about these men and woman of God are lacking in understanding. Being prejudice won't allow anyone to see the value of other Christians. In that way., not much will be learned until our hearts are not willing to condemn others in the faith.

2 Tim.3:16

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I believe once we refuse to read the Bible apart from our own private lens of truth., it means we are not willing to see the truth as it is given in the Bible. If our minds are not renewed day by day.... we will not be learning 2 Cor.4:15-18 We are instructed to be a co laborers with Christ. Willing to put off the things that are seen for the things that are not seen and to have hope and faith in MORE from the things we don't see with our physical senses.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God.
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day.
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],
[SUP]
18 [/SUP]Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.

#1: Satan needs God’s permission to attack us

Satan didn’t ask for permission to go after Job because he didn’t need permission. In the Garden of Eden we opened the door to sin and have been reaping the consequences ever since.
The good news is it doesn’t have to be this way. By the grace of God the devil flees when we resist him (James 4:7). Don’t be like Job and let the thief plunder your house. Be like David who encouraged himself in the Lord and fought back (1 Sam 30:6).
Satan does not need permission to attack us, but he most certainly has to get permission to kill us.

#2: God uses Satan as a sheepdog to keep the sheep in line
Woof! What nonsense. What fellowship does light have with darkness (2 Cor 6:14)?
Concerning us humans NONE. But concerning the things of God, that is different.

Isa_45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

#3: God gives us sickness and suffering to teach us character
Satan’s aim was to trick God into harming Job, something that God would never do. Although Job thought God was responsible for his loss, God sent Elihu to set him straight. Elihu is a picture of Jesus who went around “healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Acts 10:38). Jesus doesn’t give sickness; he takes it from us.
Gal_6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

1Co 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep
.

So we reap what we sow, as it is written.

#4: God “allows” sickness and suffering to afflict us
God does not work for the devil. If God gave the thief permission to rob you, he wouldn’t be a thief.
First Adam lost control of the planet, but last Adam took back what the devil stole. In Christ you are destined to reign like a king (Rom 5:17). But you won’t reign if you heed the lies above and follow Job instead of Jesus.
Grace and peace to you.
In Christ we are destined to reign like a king, but that is not now.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep
.

Those who sow to the flesh WILL reap corruption in the flesh.
You will reap what you yourself have sown.
God does punish those that He loves.

Col_3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

So it doesn't matter what you believe or who you are (claiming to be Christian), or what you say {We are not appointed to wrath} if you do wrong, you are going to receive for the wrong that you do, PERIOD. You will reap what you sow. And if you sow to the flesh, you WILL reap corruption in that flesh. God is not a liar.

we must Love and forgive jonie, for she is a designed 'planter', deceived and willing
to deceive others, and we pray with all of our hearts, that she is doing such things out
of a totally deceived heart...else, she is in agreement with her deceivers...

may Jesus/God have mercy upon her and those whom she has chosen to abide/live with...

I just read Job and I misread it thinking Job was being rude (he wasnt I must have read to fast) or due to all the text and long speeches I got confused Im not sure I have a learning disability but with some help I figured it out. Im not using it as an excuse but rather an example. If someone with autisim figure out Job was a blameless rightgeous man why cant you? (not all of you just the ones who started this thread) I dont know much of the bible Im still reading it but its apparent to me that JM has no clue what shes talking about. You can tell how she reasponds that shes probably reading this junk off a pamphlet she got from a cult leader. Anyone new to christanity please do NOT listen to her!
