He Grandpa,

Your missing the point. LOVE is the FULFILLING of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE. If you LOVE Jesus you will keep his COMMANDMENTS (John 14:15).

If you do not you will continue in SIN. This is why unless you are born again you will NOT see the KINGDOM of heaven. SIN will keep all who KNOWINGLY practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

We are ONLY SAVED by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of ourselves it is a GIFT of GOD and NOT of WORKS lest any man should boast (Eph 2:8)

However if your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son (Hebrews 10:26-27; Hebrews 6:4-8; Romans 6:23)

IF your tree has NO FRUIT then it is cast down and thrown into the FIRE (Matt 7:12-23)

Many teach the false gospel that God will save you if you continue in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN. This is not the power of God unto salvation from SIN. Many do not KNOW what GRACE and FAITH are for...

WHAT IS GRACE FOR?

Romans 1
5,
By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name.

Romans 6
1, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that GRACE may abound? GOD FORBID. 2, How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

DOES FAITH ABOLISH GOD'S LAW?

Romans 3
31
, Do we then ABOLISH THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

SIN is breaking God's 10 Commandments (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7). Those who CONTINUE IN KNOWN SIN do not KNOW GOD and will not ENTER the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

...................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
As I thought, you don't understand scripture.

You still persist in being entangled in the yoke of bondage and don't even know what the liberty that is in Christ is.

Why would we be told by Paul to NOT be entangled in the yoke of bondage again but told by you to go back into being entangled by the yoke of bondage?

One of you is wrong, you know that right?

We're not saved by working at the 10 commandments. We are not made righteous by them. They are death and condemnation to us according to Paul. They don't perfect us but cause us to be under the curse.

And yet you are determined to try and cause Christians to go back to their work and understanding of them.

1 Timothy 1:7 [SUP] [/SUP]
Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

That is certainly true.

Why do you Catholics always preach that it is God's instructions that are the burden and yoke?

Matt. 23:4 For they (Mainstream Preachers of Christ's Time, Pharisees, not God as you preach) bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

What it is about God's Instruction that is so burdensome to you? Who has convinced you that God created such a burden for us to bear?

Didn't Jesus free us from the death and deception of sin?

Didn't the serpent convince Eve of the same thing. That God's instructions are unjust.

Where is the mention of carrying this unbearable burden regarding Zechariahs and Elisabeth in Luke 1?

No GP. You have been deceived by a very common insidious lie that is told by "MANY" in the world and on this forum that the Pharisees were trying to earn Salvation by keeping God's Laws. While it is true they relied on their version of the Levitical Priesthood "works of the Law" for forgiveness of sins, because they didn't believe in the Messiah, they had created their own laws as Jesus said. "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men".

I think this lie that the Pharisees were trying to earn salvation by following God's Instructions is the foundation of your deception. What happens if you reject this lie and accept the truth?

the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time REJECTED the commandments of God and created their own. That is the truth. And you can not, with His Word, make an argument against it. Zechariahs and Mary didn't REJECT God instructions and create their own. God manifested himself to both of them, while giving the Pharisees over their own devises.

Aren't you even curious as to why this is? Or are you just that comfortable in your deception?

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Why do you preach against this truth so hard?

Hi Dan,

Absoluetly, LOVE is the fulfilling (doing) of God's LAW in those who BELIEVE.

Matthew 22
36,
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37, Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38,
This is the FIRST and great commandment.
39, And the SECOND is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40, ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS

Matthew 19
16,
And, behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17, And he said to him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.
18, He said to him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,
19, Honor your father and your mother: and, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.

ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS (Jesus is quoting from Deut 6:5 and Lev 19:18)

Romans 13
8,
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.
9, For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
10, Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

James 2
8,
If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well:
9, But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.

Jesus, Paul and James all agree that it is only through LOVE that anyone can OBEY and FOLLOW God and is why Jesus says; IF you LOVE me keep my Commandments (John 14:15).

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

the man asks
what good thing should he do

not

in whom should he believe

so Jesus gives him an answer
based on how his question is asked

John 4: 10. Jesus answered her, "If you knew ... you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

So then you believe every human on earth drinks of that one Spirit?
no, the letter is addressed this way
1 Corinthians 1: 1. Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 2. to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours

For the entire law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself?"

I think we have the same understanding of entire. But fulfilled, I'm not sure yet.

Matt. 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Do you preach that Paul's teaching in Gal. 5 wipes out the "first and greatest commandment", or the Law and Prophets?

it fulfills all of it

I'm fine with people sometimes needing rules to help them live out the Christian life

only, those who desire the rules ought not to regard those who simply walk in love as lesser members of the body of Christ.

James is pretty clear if we brake ANY of God's Law (10 commandments) then we are a TRANSGRESSOR of God's LAW

links to...........

1 John 3
4 Whosoever commits SIN transgresses also the law: for SIN is the transgression of the law.
John is in agreement with James and states that if we TRANSGRESS God's LAW then we commit SIN because SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF GOD'S LAW. So it is very clear that SIN is breaking ANY of God's LAW (10 commandments)

Romans 7

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known SIN, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Well here we have Paul in agreement with James and John also telling us that SIN is breaking God's commandments and uses the 10th commandment as an example of breaking any of God's LAW (10 commandments) = SIN (Exodus 20:17)

Romans 3

20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: FOR BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN.
Once again Paul is in agreement with John and James which all agree together that if we break any of God's LAW (10 commandments) we commit SIN because as James, John and Paul all agree together that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 commandments.

As you can see my friend these are not my words they are God's Words and it is very clear that James, Paul and John all agree that SIN is the breaking of ANY of God's 10 Commandments unless you believe James, Paul and John are lying and God's WORD is not true?

Hello my friend as shown earlier from the Word of God, it is not my logic is is God's Word and we should believe and follow it unless you believe James, Paul and John are all lying and the bible it not true?

They all agree that SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

Grandpa,

We keep God's Commandments ONLY because we LOVE Jesus and BELIEVE his WORD.

We are NOT saved by keeping God's LAW. Jesus is our Savior FROM SIN not IN SIN. We are all SINNERS who need a Savior to save us. The true GOSPEL is the one that teaches God has POWER to save a SINNER from the power of SIN. It does not teach that God saves the SINNER to continue IN SIN.

Those that teach Salvation is IN SIN are teaching another Gospel which was the fist LIE told in the Garden of Eden by the devil (If you break God's Commandment you will NOT surely die but be as God knowing good and evil)

SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7)

Those that CONTINUE in KNOW UNREPENTANT SIN will not enter into God's KINGDOM because they have rejected the GIFT of God's salvation from SIN in those who BELIEVE God's WORD.

SIN will keep ALL who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

Hi Dan

Not sure what your trying to say there. You may need to explain yourself better and provied scripture support for your belief.

Jesus was showing the rich young ruler that he was breaking the very first commandment because he chose his riches before God. That was why he went away sorrowful because he did not want to give them up.

For the entire law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself?"
You are a little mixed up here Dan. As Studyman has pointed out already there are two great commandments of LOVE not one. They have their origin from the Old testament scriptures which Jesus was quoting from Deut 6:5 and Lev 19:18. Jesus was showing the rich youg ruler that although he may have been keeping the 2nd of loving thy neighbor he was disobeing the first of loving God.

Matthew 22
36,
Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37, Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38,
This is the FIRST and great commandment.
39, And the SECOND is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40, ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS

ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS (Jesus is quoting from Deut 6:5 and Lev 19:18)

Matthew 19
16,
And, behold, one came and said to him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17, And he said to him, Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.
18, He said to him, Which? Jesus said, You shall do no murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,
19, Honor your father and your mother: and, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.

20, The young man said to him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21, Jesus said to him, If you will be perfect, go and sell that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22, But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Dont make the same mistake as the rich young ruler and forget about your duty of LOVE to God. SIN is the breaking of God's commandments. SIN will keep ALL those who CONTINUE to KNOWINGLY practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

...............

I'm fine with people sometimes needing rules to help them live out the Christian life

only, those who desire the rules ought not to regard those who simply walk in love as lesser members of the body of Christ.
How can you walk in LOVE when you break God's Commandments when LOVE is the fulfilling (doing) of God's LAW?

Romans 13
8,
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law.

The Greek word for fullfill used here is

Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries w/TVM, Strong
Fulfill - G4137
πληρόω; plēroō; play-ro'-o From G4134; to make replete, that is, (literally) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc.: - accomplish, X after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfil, (be, make) full (come), fully preach, perfect, supply.

Fullfill used in context othe scripture means doing to carry out to accomplish the law of God.

Now are you loving your Neighbor if you are stealing from him?
Are you loving your neigbor if you murder him?
Are you loving your neighbor if you commit adultery with his/her wife or husband?

Are you loving God if you make a God of money?
Are you loving God if you use his name in vain or make idols of things in your life?
Are you loving God by not remembering his Sabbath that he made for you?

SIN is the breaking of ANY God's Commandments (Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; James 2:9-11) All those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPETANT SIN will NOT Enter into God's KINGDOM.

What do you preach is the difference between fulfill and destroy?
let's take the first use of the word in the nt

Matthew 1: 22. Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23. "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son. They shall call his name Immanuel;" which is, being interpreted, "God with us."

nothing is destroyed here
yet, another child doesn't need to be born

Hi Dan

Not sure what your trying to say there. You may need to explain yourself better and provied scripture support for your belief.

Jesus was showing the rich young ruler that he was breaking the very first commandment because he chose his riches before God. That was why he went away sorrowful because he did not want to give them up.

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments. Those who continue a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

not sure if i can explain better

Proverbs 1: 5. that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel: 6. to understand a proverb, and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.

God is wise

Ecclesiastes 12: 11. The words of the wise are pointed, and sayings grouped together are like nails fixed with a hammer; they are given by one guide.

Very good.
So Jesus being born, as the scripture prophesied, and has been fulfilled, no need for another Messiah to be born as you pointed out. Has all scripture regarding the Christ been fulfilled? He was killed, that is another prophesy fulfilled. He won't have to be killed again, He fulfilled that which is spoken of by the Prophets.

What about the Prophesy of His Return? Will Jesus carry this prophesy out as well?

Hello my friend as shown earlier from the Word of God, it is not my logic is is God's Word and we should believe and follow it unless you believe James, Paul and John are all lying and the bible it not true?

They all agree that SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.
