Solomon.....is proof that God can take a tragic, bad situation (David killing Uriah, taking Bathsheba as his wife) and then bless them with a SON that sits on the throne of David...His name means peace....He is called the Preacher....and during his time Israel was so rich that Gold and Silver was not even accounted of....kind of like small change is in America....most will walk past a dime or quarter on the ground.....
The judges was a period of time describe under the following banner...Everyone did that which was right in their own eyes....it was a continuing cycle of sin, oppression, begging God to be delivered, a judge raised up, deliverance, service and then they would fall right back into the pattern again....birthed out of this time frame is the desire to be like the nations around them with a KING on a throne.....we all know the results of that choice and they are warned of the consequences of a worldly King...taxes, military draft, seized lands, crops etc....and one of the most tragic statements by God....

The time of the judges sounds like the wild west with gunslingers! LOL! 
When you read about all the kings that ruled over Israel and Judah in Chronicles and Kings it's so sad how the cycle of disobedience continues. Then, when I just look at myself - I see the cylcle, too. However, as we mature in Christ, the cycle breaks and we can stand strong in faith and pleasing in His sight.

At first, I thought I could trick you with this question, however, you might actually be right. Although Goliath is NOT described as having 6 fingers and 6 toes, his brother Ishbibenob is. Which leads scholars to believe all giants have this hereditary feature.
