You don't need money. You need Jesus Christ. Money will not solve any problems for you, and it will not bring you wealth. The most it could do is bring you misery. You don't need it. And I know this world is wrapped around it, but money will not make or break a person who lives in Christ.

The Just live by Faith, not by money. Many people think that their church would cease if not enough money is collected, but the kingdom of God does not depend on money. It is not established by money, it is established on the ROCK!!! JESUS CHRIST!!!

Don't follow the idols of other people. Put your faith in Jesus Christ and not in money, nor fame. Jesus is all you need to have a fulfilling life. Trust in him and he will not let you down. Trusting your money will only bring you sorrows upon sorrows.

May Jesus bless you.

I agree Ramon. As Brian 'head' Welch says in his song 'money',

"You got what you want, but it won't get you far
Was it what you thought?
You forgot who you are
Your wife has left you and you don't see your kid
Now get on your knees
You know who your god is

Your god is money, so bow down to it
You act so funny, just look at yourself
You've lost your family, your friends all use you
You can't buy happiness so, get down on your knees
Bow down"

You won't be satisfied once you get your 'goal' amount of money. There will always be something more that you want. Greed overtakes your life and destroys your relationships with others. We all need to repent from our love of money (or idolatry in general).

Remember that next time you find out about a member of your church who need serious help because they lost their job or maybe both the husband AND wife lost their jobs. Will you spend your money to help them? Or will you get that new car?
If you are willing to go into debt for that car would you do it for them?
Do you have anything to lose by being so generous in your talk? When was the last time you sacrificed something important to help someone in real trouble.
Talk is cheap
God Bless

I wonder why you guys find pleasure in attacking Ramon, as far as i'm concerned he's one of the best christians i've met on this site!. And in as much as you might not want to admit it, He Speaks The Truth!!!!....

You understand perfectly well what he means when he says we don't need money but Jesus Christ!. And please stop trying to twist the intended messaged by saying TALK IS CHEAP.. and giving irrelevant excuses..

Tobby I was not attacking, nor was I twisting his words - I was talking about application of the principle he was outlining.
And talk is still cheap, it is one thing to say, it is another to do. Saying is not very hard at least not in this forum. But taking what we hopefully learn here and taking back into our Christian walk is where it gets more difficult.
All I was trying to do was show what that concept looks like "on the ground".
God Bless you for being a protective friend :)

So you're saying that money brings misery at best...
So what does poverty bring?

I don't think that's the point he's trying to make. I think the point he's trying to make that constant pursuit of monetary gain over more import things won't make you happy and can sometimes be your downfall.

At least I think. But it is Ramon, you know. Lol

Point proven, however the answer made me smile :)

I agree though, I was more replying to the title of the thread, ''YOU DON'T NEED MONEY.''
I definately agree with the fact that it will destroy you if you make it your idol in life, and constantly pursue it.

Nothing wrong with money, as long as it's not over valued, because after all it's just a bit of paper, however that bit of paper (or coin) buys your you house.

Remember though, man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God

I agree. Saying we don't need money is both unbiblical and nonsense. It is biblical to say not to love money and serve it as your master, but to say one doesn't need money is just ridiculous. David was a king. Job was the richest man in the land and God doubled his riches. Many scriptures talk of increase and abundance for the faithful. Jesus said not to WORRY about money, but he never said you didn't need money.

On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.
1 Corinthians 16:2

Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Proverbs 10:4

Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, but the one who gathers by labor increases it.
Proverbs 13:11

“The worker deserves his wages.”
1 Timothy 5:18

The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.
Proverbs 22:7

I think the 'money doesn't matter' viewpoint is only shared by people who live at home and have no responsibilities. It is impossible to even exist in the world without money. Maybe YOU don't have it or think you need it, but someone somewhere is paying for you to exist.

The love of money is the root of all evil...not money itself.
