You need to previous verse to get the context of what was chosen us in Christ. The spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ are in accordance to what God has chosen to give to those in Christ. This choosing was before the foundation of the world. The choosing was the spiritual blessings in Christ. The word "according" takes the context back to what was previously said.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The verse does not read (as Calvinists like to read it), as he has chosen us to be in him before the foundation of the world.
We didn't create ourselves; God chose the elect from the foundation of the world.

First of all, the word "elect" is not found in the passage. Second, I did not state we created ourselves. Weird thought...

Of you believe God does not want all people to be saved, then how do you know that you are one of the elect?

Calvinism teaches that God allows some to "think" they are elect but in the end they were not elect at all. :poop:
I've never met one person that teaches this. Only those who tell people what others believe. I've heard a LOT of people like you informing everyone what "those dirty unsaved Calvinist" believe, and it always sounds just like this, and is so far apart from what a self professing Calvinist would actually say that they stand on. So I find this a dirty, underhanded, and completely dishonest tactic that is doing the devils work of sowing division through gossip and lies. What's your motivation here? Accuracy? It can't be that using lies about what "they believe" as the base of your random complaint to pick a fight out of the blue for no reason.

I see you here as clear as day using a lie to sow division in the body. Why? Why is it so hard for you to understand what the Calvinist is saying and how they think of it? What you say they believe is something I've NEVER see anyone say in my life and your argument here has no truth or sincerity behind it. It's just you making a fictional character to mock, a strawman to attack. Doesn't matter if we are talking about our denomination or what version of the Bible we read, you HAVE to be right, you are just too prideful and have to destroy all that isn't you. Pretty pathetic if you ask me, and I hope I'm dead wrong and making myself look foolish with these observations, but after seeing your comment style long enough to form an impression of what you focus on and argue about, as well as the style you make these arguments in, you just seem like someone who wants to look down your nose at others as you inform those idiots. Don't see much as far as you glorifying God, mostly just your own opinions.

So why don't you go actually engage with the Calvinist ACTUAL beliefs and study the ACTUAL things they'd argue for themselves. Then there will at least be a point to these ridiculous threads.

We will all find out.

We've already found out that calvinists are spiritually bankrupt and not in right standing with the Lord due to their heresy

I see you here as clear as day using a lie to sow division in the body.

The false doctrines of calvinist are the lies. Enjoy!

Not feeling guilty and not repentant

That's what reformed theology teaches right there.

If one sins it's no problem because they claim all future sins have already been forgiven which is a lie which causes people to go ahead and live in sin and why wouldn't they after hearing this false license to sin gospel?

Only sins past have been forgiven

Romans 3:25
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Hebrews 10:26

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

This means if we sin after getting born again that are NOT automatically forgiven. We must confess to the Lord and forsake our sin in order to be forgiven of any new sins comitted after getting born again.

Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This would NOT be in God's Word is all future sins were automatically forgiven.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Those walking in sinful behavior are NOT walking in the light so their sins are not cleansed because they are sinners!

1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Convicted people have two situations.
1.Confessed and repented
2.Not feeling guilty and not repentant

Romans 4:4
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
I appreciate your effort to correct me, but none of that is biblically applicable.

Convicted people ca never confess or repent, unless God does the work of regeneration. And gives the hopeless sinner the humility to confess and spiritual eyes to see how ugly their sin is and repent of it. Again God does this for the hopeless sinner, the sinner doesn't chose to repent of sin because he loves his sin more than he loves God.

There's no such thing as a sinner who doesn't feel guilty. What you have is self deluded sinners who are in denial, they hope that they can plead ignorance and fool God. But God is nobody's fool

@MerSee: Can only the elect ever be born again?

What makes either one of you think you're the elect? Does what you believe line up with what God teaches? Because if it doesn't, then you're worshipping something other than the true Jesus and are not saved.

As it is, you believe in a Jesus that doesn't offer salvation to everyone, but just a certain specific set of people. How can you have the Holy Spirit and be saved if you believe that?

I agree that God is nobody's fool, but it looks like you've fooled yourselves. It's really ironic considering this thread. :)

The "us" part in that scripture passage is the elect.
Biblically speaking, the “us” are the saints in Christ. The word elect is not found. That’s the problem I have with Calvinists, they take a man made RCC doctrine and read it into every verse.

There's more than enough here to prove that God is not like men. He really does know everything, regardless of what men say

Maybe they could show that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit knew each other before the foundation of the world. But that would probably be the most they could do.

Ok, sorry I overwhelmed you with too much evidence and a few exhibits were presented twice. But that shouldn't detract from the rest of damning evidence presented.

It seems to me that you're trying to sidestep the issue, as you don't have a strong case against it. I'd appreciate any biblical correction
