mr.bunny i'm so lost who is white n elliot?

personally i don't think anyone should be head pastor of a church until they are at least 30...Jesus taught at 12 but did not start His ministry until 30.

and a minister/ bishop should be married to one wife because 2 is 1

evangelist and teacher are different than bishop/head pastor of a church.

Did I stutter, alvin :D

No, lol, seriously, yes, I grouped them as women preachers altogether, one of, if not, my favorite story ever read is by Elizabeth Elliott, so, yeah, I REALLY like her way of going after love God's way in Passion & Purity, highly recommended book for all, especially young ladies wondering IF staying pure can be done or even should be done until marriage . Indeed, Elliott's story provides great 'answer' to this question :)

How much clearer could you get?

1 Timothy 2:12

I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

Women will teach and do teach.

At the time of this writing , Paul was on the road to Damascus had a letter in hand to destroy the church. It was very dangerous at that time for women to teach, because if they were caught, they would be tortured and killed. It was for this reason. That Paul would say this. Understand ?

But what about the end times ???

1st Corinthians 11: 5

[5] But every woman that prayeth or "" prophesieth"" ( wooe, prophesying is teaching )with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

What's it taking about here? Its not talking about hair.

[6] For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
[7] For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man

There's a reason he's saying women, in the final generation , need to be very careful. You need to have Christ over your head, you need to be under the wing of Christ. Its extremely important . He's going to tell you why. Again this is a women that is preaching, that is prophesying.

(Acts 21: 8 And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. 9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. ( They taught the word of God and God saw no shame in it.)

Shorn, unshorn whats he talking about ? Lets keep reading.

[8] For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
[9] Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

( Who brought you into this world? It's your mama, right? Women give birth , and they bring men into the world. That's the way God arranged it...
But God is warning something here, that is very important, especially in this generation. )

[10] For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

What angels is He talking about ? The fallen angels. There going to return to this earth, and as its written in Matthew chapter 24:
its going to be just like it was in the days of Noah . The fallen angels are going to be giving and taking in marriage again to women, and a women who has Christ over her head, if she is covered by the wing of Christ, if she is covered by the wing of Almighty God;
They will run from her. The point is, rather then be born of women, they want to seduce women. That's what its about...

It's would go on to say, it would be a shame for a man, to be covered in that light, because it would be a perversion. They're not after men they are after women.

So you want to be careful , that we don't change the word of God, to fit some teaching of some , unlearned teachers of God's word.

you'll find this word silence, in the original manuscript the word is ''' Chatter"". Chatter is something that interrupts. Rather then a women keeping silent, its a women should not ''Chatter''. The word is NOT silence, its Chatter.. No one should be allowed to chatter in Church, Male or Female. We should never allow the flesh body, to come into any kind of celebration. Its disruptive. That takes away from The Word of God; in its the simplicity , that is in God's honest teachings. Once I get my thoughts together , I'll document the that Silence, really means Chatter.

You know ; it is written, in Mark 13, when we are delivered up, as it is written , then in Acts chapter 2 on Pentecost day; what was the example going on there?
Both Men and 'Women'. Which this has to do with the end generation. that both men and women shall teach and prophesy , by the Holy Spirit speaking through them, when the when they are delivered up before the false messiah. Women shall teach; it will be the Holy Spirit teaching through them...

There have been many times in the Bible that God has used women. There have been great women students ,in God's word.

You ever hear of Deborah ? Back when there were Judges, Israel was being attacked. There was no man judge , . Deborah was a woman.
And the men said: hay, you may have heard from God we can defeat them, but we're not going out there. Well she was the judge, she jumped into a chariot, off she gos, they had the victory, and even down to the fact of Sisera, the enemy, kinda wimped away, and crawled into a tent, invited in by Jael, a gentile women. And she offered him some sweet butter milk, lay down and rest yourself, and that women drove a tent peg straight-through his head, she killed him. So man didn't get to destroy the enemy ,women did.

And one time, in another place, Have you every heard of Huldah ? Men at one time in the scripture, they're confused, and they want to know what God has to say, so they went down to the university, God's house, The head of it was Huldah. And Huldah gave it to them. So to say that women do not teach, you missed something some where.

Women are used buy God.

is this thread about the importance of woman and their gift and purpose and value? or about
who is to be an overseer or teacher in the church?
This thread is definitely not about the importance of women roles and value in churches...there are women mentioned in the New Testament that have played a significant role in helping Paul in his ministry.

But what this post is really talking about is how women isn't suppose to be pastors. Now I know women who teach other women for a living and we have a ladies day every year at our church and different women will come and teach to us. But no men are present. And I know women are teachers to the children and women. But like someone posted earlier women can only teach men if they are lost, unbelievers, or of another faith. But women do not have the authority by God to preach over men. And like I stated before show me book chapter and verse if there are women in the New Testament that were pastors, elders, deacons, bishops. Women do not have any of those positions in the New Testament.

The Body of Yeshua has learned wonderful things from women in the Word. Deborah, Ruth, Esther, Miriam, even Jezebel, but that last one was a negative lesson. Woman have spoken the Word as prophets, in praise and all other aspects of the Holy Spirit. Personally I balk at women preachers, of course I balk at the men too. However the instant the Holy Spirit is perceived in the preaching, teaching and praise, I listen, and I listen closely. One woman I have listened to in the past has helped me so much, Joyce Meyer. Now I may not always agree with a preacher, but I listen. Sister Joyce has helped me so much, and I praise God, Yahweh for her. Hey, she is from my home state too! Neat.
It is the Holy Spirit that makes all one with no free, no slave, no women, no men, no Jew, no Greek, and so on down the prejudicial lines of mankind..........Blessed be the Lord, Yahweh, Almighty forever, amen.......

Very interesting.

Yes indeed woman can be used by God.

Yes the Holy Spirit can work through a woman..

But... Have you ever been around a Jezebel?

Do you have a Scripture for that?

you'll find this word silence, in the original manuscript the word is ''' Chatter"".
Strong's Greek: 4601. σιγάω (sigaó)

sigaó: to keep silent, to keep secret
Short Definition: I keep silent
Definition: intrans: I am silent, keep silence; trans: I keep secret; pass: I am kept secret.

Strong's Greek: 4601. ????? (sigaó) -- to keep silent, to keep secret

`Your women in the assemblies let them be silent, for it hath not been permitted to them to speak, but to be subject, as also the law saith; and if they wish to learn anything, at home their own husbands let them question (Assuming they have a good husband), for it is a shame to women to speak in an assembly. - 1 Corinthians 14:34

Exactly.

It's either you believe God or you are in sinful rebellion because you think your flesh knows better. There is no in-between.

Can women plant seeds of truth? Of course

Can God use women? Of course

Can women be preachers in the church? There is no way I can say yes to this with a clean conscience. There are verses in the Bible that not only say that women shouldnt be preachers in the church, but it says it bluntly.

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

No matter what century we live in, or what church you go to, nothing will change the fact that the man was formed first, and it was the woman who was deceived in the transgression. So to argue that this only applied to Pauls time, or that Paul was only speaking to a specific church, is an argument that falls short in my opinion.

i know of great churches that have female associate pastors in them and I know of one or two churches with lead pastors who are female. While I don't attend them, I don't personally care. I don't think anyone is going to be in trouble in the end. So, not for me, but im not going to hold it against others.

It's not about what we think or feel, it's about God's truth. Female pastors are in sinful rebellion.

So this leads to the obvious question: should openly gay pastors preach as well? I mean, why not, they have good things to say too, right?

Are you proposing no sinner to be a pastor. If this is the case, read what Jesus, Who never had sin, and do as He teaches, otherwise, anyone repented of his/her sin should be allowed to share the Word with all if so given to do. Paul was the product of a life of the law, and when speaking to Jewish congregations he would be inclined to negate a woman's being a pastor, but what do you suppose the Lord and Master would say or teach here. If you belong to Paul, I pity you for you belong to another sheep and not to the Shepherd. Remember mercy always in dealing with others lest mercy not be remembered for you. Yahweh is good all of the time, always in Yeshua, amen.

In keeping with Nautilus, when the Holy Spirit is present in the message of a woman, would you simply dismiss her as rebellious? I listen always when the Holy Spirit is present. Many times He is not present, with men or women, we must discern by the recognition by the Spirit of truth residing in each who know Jesus, Yeshua.

1. I am saying that anyone who does not meet the Biblical requirements for a Pastor should not be a pastor. I said nothing about sinners in general. A Pastor is required to be "the husband of one wife" so a gay person would not qualify either.

2. You err on Paul because you assume that he made scripture based on his personal experiences. The Bible says all scripture is God breathed. None of the Biblical authors were just writing their own opinions. If you believe that they were than why even bother with the Bible? You could just write your own.

I said nothing of the sort. I said a woman who is a pastor is in sinful rebellion. If someone is a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, they are going to Heaven. That is the standard for salvation.

Christians still sin in life. You do not lose your salvation because you have sinned.

The Holy Spirit wrote the Bible. And that same Holy Spirit, who is God, tells us that a woman cannot be a pastor. So if someone, "in the spirit" contradicts the Scripture that the Holy Ghost Himself has written, why would you trust that person???

Of course women can speak in the church and sometimes teach.
However, the order in the church needs to remain according to the will of God. Women should not take the position of head pastor when a man is present. Not saying this is sexist, but it just goes according to godly order :) The head pastor or the head of the local church should indeed be a man.
