Looks
Brains
Humor

If you could only pick 2 of the 3 for yourself, which would you pick? Why?

My picks are brains and humor.
Because :
Beauty is fleeting.

(Proverbs 31:30 NLT
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.)
Brains ~ It is always good to have a good head on your shoulders "and brains within it" is befitting. I take delight in having the "mind of Christ". Wisdom and good discretion are beneficial.
(1 Corinthians 2:14- 16 NIV
14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.)
To me having the mind of Christ is our having His Spirit, and such being His Spirit that leads and informs us so that we are mindful by way of having the Spirit as the ultimate guide… I wouldn’t want to be all intellectual with none or least spiritual fiber.
Finally humor ~ because laughter does the heart good like medicine. I’d like to touch people lives with the knowledge of God and have pleasant memorable moments filled with joyous times uplifting others in Spirit and being uplifted in Spirit.

(Proverbs 17:22 NLT
22 A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.)

If a person has dashing emerald green eyes like me, how in the world could I not pick "looks" for myself?

But because of my great humbleness and humility, I will choose brains and humor instead!!!

Brains for sure. I'm not sure how to answer in regards to the other two. I guess I'm picky. I'll say humor, but she does need to at least look pretty.

This thread reminds me of this song..

She kept on telling me
I want you (I want you)
I need you (I need you)
But there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you
Now don't be sad (Don't be sad)
'Cause two out of three ain't bad..

Brains, humor, looks, in that order. :D

I mean, I'd want to be at least plain looking, are we talking slightly below average? I could deal with that. I wouldn't want a face so dramatically distracting that people hide their children and refuse to notice the real me underneath.

Brains are important for more reasons than I can name.

Humor, because laughter helps you live longer and healthier. :p

We have the mind of Christ, so I don't want lots of brains outside of His, would just make me lean more on my own understanding........I want my mind to be renewed to His! Just a thought, as a man thinks in his heart so he is..................anyway.............

So I'll take the humo(u)r and looks, the thinking I'll leave to the mind of Christ. Praise the Lord anyhow :)

Humor because laughter makes the soul soar and it usually just makes life that much easier.

Brains and humor of course. They tend to be the last to go as we get older, besides the fact that I think a woman would have to be pretty shallow to only love me because of my looks.

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."

I'd have to say brains, and humor. I'm sure The Lord could keep me sane and take away me sense of humor, but it would be a miracle. I hereby bequeath my looks to the highest bidder! (I also have a shrewd business sense.) :D

I can't do it. I can't pick. -_- I've tried and tried but I want them all. Obviously I would be ok with any of the two but I want them all. *sigh* That's my confession for the evening.

I would pick brains and humor hands down. As the scriptures say, physical beauty fades. Besides, then you'd know whether someone liked you for YOU or because of the way you looked - which has a very short shelf life indeed.

I know that brains and humor are the obvious "right" choices, however, I can't lie and say that I wouldn't enjoy having looks at this point in life either. I kinda want my husband to be attracted to me physically. I work hard to be fit and healthy so that I can live a longer and fuller life and I don't really think it's wrong to enjoy the way that God made you. Don't make physical beauty your primary focus and don't allow the response from others to puff you up or become your focus either, but it's perfectly fine to enjoy it and to better yourself.
That's my two cents anyway. I know that a looooooot of people don't agree with me on the subject though. o_o *dodges tomatoes*

I think we all want to look our best and be healthy, and it IS hard work and should not be our life's focus. I can most certainly agree with all of that. :)
No 'maters, Catlynn :) I understand where you're coming from.

Physical beauty can be both a blessing and a curse. It gets attention, but often the wrong sort of attention. It's important to have people in your life to see beyond that. One of my favorite truisms: It's not how you look, it's how you see. :)
