There's an Ignore button? I did not know that!

Yes, I'm familiar with trolls. I've seen the Troll Hunter movie. I think it was Norwegian.
Good movie, it was Norwegian.

I still have the report button- its the triangle with the exclamation mark in it beside 'blog this post'. And if you go into the ignoree's profile, it will give the option to ignore user. Although, watching trolls fall into a pit of troll-eating gold-fish would be quite amusing.

Good movie, it was Norwegian.
Yeah, I saw that movie too, last spring. For the first (and only) Norwegian movie I've ever seen, it was quite entertaining. The most unique part of the movie was that the trolls could "smell the blood of Christians" (although at no point does the movie explain how they can do that or its significance to the plot). Good special effects too!!!

Originally the rhyme, "Fi fi foe fum, I smell the blood of an English man" was "Fi fi foe fum, I smell the blood of a Christian man" and was changed for controversial reasons. It's part of old Norwegian lore, something to do with the trolls being worshiped by the people in pagan times and then forgotten about when many turned to Christ. Naturally, they were peeved and had to go into hiding, otherwise they would've all been killed.

In most Norwegian folklore, the trolls will state that they "smell the blood of a Christian", it's never explained here either, nor does the main characters normally say or do anything that suggests they are Christians :p I think that the fairytale version of it is just a lack of something better to say.

I've actually never heard of trolls being worshiped, they tend to be portrayed much like giants in your folklore, large and dangerous, but stupid :p

Oh, that would make sense then. I wish they mentioned that in the movie (it would have made the plot even more unique).

On a side note - Arwen, please take note that I did not begin this particular "derailment" of your thread (although I am certainly "participating" in the derailment - lol).

I wonder if my fish would volunteer. They have a penchant for all sorts of mischief.

They did mention it in the Troll Hunter movie but it was a passing reference or two. Also, I found out the rest by watching the behind the scenes of the movie.

Perhaps some people 'gasp' when they are "all aghast'' - hence, they become ''all agasp''...

I like CC too, and although I've been on the site for a year or so, I didn't really use the forums much before this past week. I'm glad I've contributed though! Y'all are very funny, very kind people, and I'm enjoying myself. :D

*raises hand* What or who is Tim Hortons?
It's a popular Canadian (although, owned by an American ) coffee shop. I personally prefer Starbucks which makes me an elitist Canadian right, Descyple?

Didn't Descyple say he thought it was only in Canada? We have Tim Horton's all over the place.
