Cheers guys there was no mindless dribble in there lol usualy there is when i ask contrevercial questions but i think that worked must have scared them off lol. but ugly by that logic we shouldnt drink wine. Jesus drank wine and the bible clearly says consumption of it is fine so long as you dont go overboard obviously. Its just strange how its not like directly in there obviously God knew man would eventualy start smoking it to get high i wonder why he didnt say not to in black and white thats all but i do agree it has alot of negative effects. i wonder if God minds cancer patients smoking it or eating it. ill pray about it and let you guys know if God reveals something to me from his word. Im not a bible guru.... not yet ;D

Talking about drugs, the bible talks about drugs. The word sorcery in the Greek is pharmakeia. Which is where we get our English word pharmacy or that is to say drugs.
i was going to say this but i guess i got tired of being the one who always has to point out this particular fact...marijuana use is one of several forms of sorcery...

Don't somewhere in the rastifairian belief that one day they will return to
Africa as their homeland like the Jews with jerulsalem? (although they missed the whole meaning of that)

perhaps what they do to the poppy seed?

even the poppy seeds on hamburger buns shows up on drug tests as it is made into.
Actually, they have raised the cut off level for the opiate class due to many false positives. Eating poppy seeds now will not make you fail a drug test. You would probably have to eat a gallon of them for them to even show up.

I once heard that the wine in Biblical times was different to the wine we know today....

Actually in 18 sumpin with a T. A rule was made that any wine that did not contain alcohol was to be labeled grape juice. Before that if it came from a grape it was called wine.

Actually it was 1929 during prohibition that grape juice was separated from wine. Looked it up.

Also. I might add that I can find nowhere in scripture that Jesus drank wine. At the marriage party He turned water into wine. Which with my post before could have been grape juice. I mean come on any bartender will tell you that after a person has had a few drinks you water it down and they will never know the difference. However, it is said that they saved the best for last. Secondly at the Lords supper it just say's He took the cup. Then He say's "I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine". Prove that Jesus drank wine as we know it.

you don't get drunk on grape juice and are not able to tell the difference between good wine and bad wine. it says that most people serve the bad wine after the people have consumed enough of the good wine not to notice the quality, but they commented one how good tasting the wine was. there is a difference between wine and vinegar, its caused by different types of bacteria that ferment the grape juice. the comment was most likely the lack of vinegar in the wine.

The logic that the Bible doesn't forbid it specifically is faulty. Yes, Jesus drank wine, but He didn't tell people to get drunk.

The problem with weed is that even in small doses it alters the mind's ability to perceive reality and is used in many other pagan religious rituals for the express purpose to contact the "spirit world" in which people connect with demons. The Bible expressly forbids believers from using pagan practices.

Deuteronomy 18
[h=3][/h][SUP]9 [/SUP]“When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. [SUP]10 [/SUP]There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, [SUP]11 [/SUP]or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. [SUP]12 [/SUP]For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. [SUP]13 [/SUP]You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.

Show the specific scripture that Jesus drank wine.
show how this is NOT derailing the topic at hand?

apologizes to the OP for the side conversation.... but here is one example:

Matthew 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.”

Well, I am always ask that question. The topic is mind altering substance that is on earth and should we partake because every green herb is given to us. The grape is the fruit of a green herb. Actually, rice rolled in a grape leave with some RED WINE VINEGAR is very good had it in Egypt. That was some good stuff.

Romans 13:13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

God wants us to learn self control.

Does anyone know any scripture where it says smoking (the human inhalation of cigarettes, cigars, etc) anything like tobacco or weed is allowed in the Bible?

the only smoke I know mentioned is from incense: frankincense, mrryh, etc.

as someone mention it says EAT green herbs, not smoke them

and even that is not advisable for all green herbs after the fall from Eden because of the various poison secreted by various plants.

And they say, They said he was a wine bibber. I can't find in the bible where smoking tobacco is wrong or weed or crack or injecting heroin. Can you? I eat Polk salad which is poisonous. but prepared right it is harmless. Anything that alters the mind
is wrong. I'm sorry that I'm picking on you to get the point across. If you can drink a mind altering beverage and remain true to God, then have at it. But, I say if you play with a snake sooner or later your'e gonna get bit. Because it'snot the partaking of it that's sin, but what we do and say after.

I strongly discourage the drinking of poison, the injecting of drugs, the smoking of mind altering drugs and the handling of poisonous snakes.

as I posted before the BIBLE tells us NOT to practice the pagan things and I know of many religions that use weed as a gateway to contact the "spirits" which in truth are demons.

yes discernment is great but why tempt the Lord your God with your actions by placing yourself in such situations?

you can pick on me all you want, but you still have NOT answered my question.

I've shown where wine has been allowed, but where does it say its ok to SMOKE anything?

here is another about wine if you missed it:

1 Timothy 5:23 No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.

now your turn, where are the scriptures about smoking anything?

Okay but that was not Jesus. Do we know that that wine was not grape juice. It is known that grape juice settles the stomach. As I said there was differentiation between wine and grape juice until 1929.

Okay, Ariel sorry to be so hard on you. But can we agree that there are somethings we can't find in scripture and must trust in our walk with God and believe as He shows us.
